Guess Remco didn't have the balls to race today, oh well.. But what a stage! Jonas dropping Roglic and Evenepol twice from the wheel. Then go catching 30 seconds on Pogi just to outsprint him on the finish line. All of this on their terrain where he was expected to loose time. Absolutely incredible comeback!!
Remco should have pulled with Jonas! He should grow some balls😂
Time for Pogi to ride smart, use his team and defend the leadership. If he continues these crazy attacks (c'mon, 3 climbs to the finish?!) , he'll lose the Tour again.
As far as I understand from what Pogi and Remco says , it's ball less to ride smart 😉
They are not good enough, because they don't have the legs to attack Jonas like visma did in 2022 with Pog, so he has to attack him self to create at least a 3 min gap otherwise anything less than that isn't going to be enough on the third week when Jonas is stronger
@@Iloveburgers-zv6ce I think UAE has to be smart when the big mountains come, and don't do Visma's job, that is getting Pogacar tired so that Jonas can attack. Which was kinda what happened yesterday.

Tadej just needs to use his team. He doesnt need to attack all the time.
The only one he can rely on to go all out when on the Visma guys(bar Vingegaard) are gone is Yates - Almeida and Ayuso are just going for their own chance, at least till he has put at least 15+ minutes into them and really shown them who is the boss.
TdF have never been more entertaining than in the last few years. Especially thanks to the arrangers and how they have mixed up the course with hills and mountains in the first week of racing. And then this rivalry on top on that, with unpredictable riders like Tadej Pogacar making great entertainment for TV-viewers.
Now is the time to race smarter. Use the super team. Or Pogi can lose this thing in one steep kilometer after a long climb....
The problem is that Tadej has rarely raced "smart", but rather relied on his own ability to out-race everyone else. That his own talent and innate youthful stamina has until recently been unbeatable with little trouble until Jonas, who could match him, came along. I'm not saying he races "stupidly", but rather on his own instincts and abilities.
Jonas was definitely great today, but his team wasn't. Tadej still had two riders from his team when launched his attack while everyone else was isolated. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the higher mountains.
If Pogacar does not have the legs it does not matter how strong his team is

Pogi is actually half human after all
Evenpool lost his balls on the climb. He was saved by the descent and the flat section. But it won't happen in 3rd week mountain. That's what happens when you race with balls and not your head😂

Tadej Attacked and dropped Everyone. Jonas stayed patient, and gradually pulled Tadej back, leaving everyone else pretty far back!

Jonas has been superior on longer climbs. After the crash there was the doubt that he still hadn't got to top shape. But it seems that Jonas is already there. The third week should come to his grasp. Even if he still has problems on the descents...
Think pog went too early but great racing by jonas too catch him cant wait for super steep mountains then we will see a real battle pog has better team he just needs to use them more wisely
They should have used more riders to make it harder. Now Vingegaard rode the wheel of Roglic all the way down getting an advantages. Or they should have realized that it was too far out and attacked on the last climb instead where the bonus seconds actually were. Another tactical bummer from UAE.
@@narakdk totally agree didnt get it when they had 3 riders then suddenly only yates with him obviously other two werent pushing it enough they got it wrong but fair play to pog for atracking made for a good watch also chapeau to jonas think they are evenly matched
@@craigmcgregor71 thanks, finally someone in the world gets me : ) UAE wants 3 people in top 10, instead of either go for the win with any one of the three or sacrifice the two others to help pogacar. Its that simple, but they cannot or have not been able to take such easy decision!

Love Pogi and his youthful spirit but Jonas rides like a true vet. Pogi always tries to attack early. He should have just sat on Jonas’ wheel today to manage a gap and respond to an attack. You have to know that Jonas is going to attack on the last big climb of the stage, not the first. Jonas and his team’s strategy is honestly just better.

That had to rattle Pogi's confidence a bit. But not disastrous, at least Jonas had to work and use some energy, after all there is no Sepp Kuss to help him ride back on. Although Roglic helped a bit.
I'd say Jonas won today's battle. But very little actually ground gained. Pogi's may ride a bit smarter now and stop spending bits of energy unnecessarily.
The margins are very tight and he will need all of it.
Well the terrain was in favour of Pogacar and Jonas is waiting to demolish Pogacar in the high mountains...
@@KnowIt74 The problem is that Jonas doesn´t have a strong team this year to drain Pogacar all day on those hot and long mountain stages. I think that will be decisive in favour of Pogcar unless he cracks completely obviously...

Today will make Pogacar for sure realize that he needs more time before the last three stages, so he will have to be even more crazy in his attacks, thus using even more energy, thus enable his own demise... again.. : )
@@nunawalker he makes it hard himself because he really wants to win stages. So Vingegaard can just wait. If all goes bad he can easily take 1.5 minute on the last time trial.
I'm still confident Pogačar will at the end of the Tour have the yellow jersey but as a Pogi fan I'm disappointed. Maybe he attacked too early, should have stayed with the team a bit longer. Ultimately Jonas win today would have been a blow to Tadej cause at one point and if you consider bonus seconds also Tadej could have left the stage today with maybe 2 minutes lead. But instead Jonas took 2 seconds off and when you consider that final day TT those seconds will count a lot
I guess he was counting on the descent to win a good handful of seconds over Vingegaard (which he did) that he would be able to maintain till the end of the stage. He probably also counted on Vingegaard not being on top form.
@gatofuji7410 you right think he purposely chose that time cause of the descent. But hey at the end of the day who am I to question? The team would plan out a stage meticulously before hand, where to attack, etc. So maybe it's not about did Tadej attack too early but more so that Jonas was able to catch up and win the stage
Pog was a true knucklehead today. The only thing he can hope from today is he’s tiring an undercooked Jonas but when you’ve already drained the tank by brainlessly winning a 3 week tour by 10 minutes! Fatigue will figure in the final week for Pog big time!

I don't understand the people who says Pogi needs to race smart. What do you know what is smart for him? Maybe he is already using his strengths to his advantage and a different style of racing would not suit him as good as this one? Explain what you guys mean by smart and explain how it suits him better?
By staying with his teammates until the last climb. Tadej took off too early
@@Dean_H. he has advantage on the descend, I think he did the right thing by attacking before that descend and also going for the time bonus and KoM, except he used more energy than he should’ve in his effort, as he also admitted in hindsight. I think we can speculate, but too many variables here. Maybe Jonas would have caught up regardless.
Pogacar little over confident and try to play with jonas in sprint attack thats why he is short to the finish line.
Play? the reason you sit down in a sprint like that is because your arms and legs are cramping in the standing position. Pogacar was tired at the end and had no more gas - he also sat on Jonas wheel the last 2-3 km. That´s not normal behaviour from him...anyway, he´ll be back.
one thing i notice with tadej using small gear while sprint attack with jonas in the last 200 mtrs to the finish line.i hope its a lesson learn for tadej this tactics will not happen again in this coming mountain stages otherwise he will lost the yellow jersey to jonas
