    Nadal shrinks the court on his opponents to such a degree, when on clay, that it is nye impossible to ever feel comfortable. When he gets comfortable, he's unstoppable.

    Zverev was right. Once he arrives in Paris, he suddenly plays 30% better. For a first round that was pretty solid stuff.

Around the lines, behind the lines. I mean, this guy has 106W/3L in this tournament. During 18 years, most of the games in the Phillipe Chatriere. He loves this court. A monster court.

    one thing that differs Nadal from a lot of other ATP players is that once he sees an opening, he goes for the winner almost every time. a lot of the times i see players just returning the ball to the opponent, hoping that the opponent will make mistakes, but that kind of playstyle almost never works in the long run

      Even at this level, not everyone has the consistency to go for shots the way he does and make it the vast majority of the time.

      That is why defensive players with lack of powerful shots often have trouble vs Nadal such as Medvedev, Murray, Giles Simon, Norrie, Bautista Agut, etc.

      To be fair, Thompson was a great matchup for him. Not a natural clay courter, and doesn’t have near the firepower to push Nadal around on clay. Just doesn’t have the gas on his shots.

    Oh! The rib injuries that cropped up in the Indian Wells F loss; and foot injuries that suddenly came up in Madrid QF and Italian R16 losses have vanished instantly. And, if he loses a match at 2022 FO; another injury will suddenly appear, he has learned very well to never give credit to the opponent who beats him!
