In spite of it's name the Eurovision Song Contest isn't the place to go to for musical quality.
In fact it's where music taste goes to die.
Ahead of Malmo 2024, lets take a trip to the summit of the mountain of garbage that is the worst Eurovision entries. Here are my top 11 worst Eurovision songs. Let me know what I've missed.

Most of these entries are form the time when Televoting dominated the results. Low point was in 2008. Last years protests after Sweden's win over the Televote and wanting to abolish the Juries should see this video. This makes me vertain that Martin Österdahl will NEVER get rid of the Juries. He does not want to go back to the quality of the 00s. He's even said so (in a round about way)
“Pokušaj” that song talks about the love that was lost in one nation (Yugoslavs) after the war and the reconciliation of those newly created republics
Fair play, as a statement it might be great, but as a piece of music I found it terrible
Well, you can give some of those listed song a benefit of a doubt as they're joke entries and not meant to be taken seriously, Portugal 2011,for example.

NGL there's a bunch of my absolute favourites here. Pokušaj is a pocket symphony with a gloriously absurd performance that is pure Eurovision greatness. A Luta e Alegria's verse is bollocks, but the chorus is great, catchy Brazilian 70s-inspired fun. I watch for entertainment, and I'd rather Portugal send that than Salvador Sobral being very serious but (whisper it because lots of people adore that performance) very boring. And Silvia Night is the best Eurovision entry of all time. There have been countless iconic three-minute performances in Eurovision history, but hers is the only performance that lasted an entire week.

I actually quiet like cry baby, the singing wasn't great but the song wasn't bad, yeah flying the flag was close to making, will have to relisten to the other two can't remember those

Yeah I considered a few uk ones, but we're usually more generic than awful, none of them stood out in particular

Where is Magdalena Tul with "Jestem" from Poland (ESC 2011)? She got the worst result for Poland ever (and that itself says a lot...)

yeah that's a great point, to be fair there's enough eurovision dross to do another top 11 so i'll keep that song in mind

Thank you for not including Austria 2012. I know people hate it, but I absolutely love it. I do agree with the list though, all of these are shit!

Yeah, most of these are from 00's, more or less the Dark Ages of Eurovision 😂 a lot of great songs in this year's competition again, been the case for a while already
yeah its been better recently, i'm waiting till Eurovision night to hear the songs for the first time, always like to be surprised
Some songs are so bad they are good. It's the ones that are bad and stay bad that I expect on this list 😂

It was definitely better than other Spanish entries, eg 2018. Or 2008, 2004, 2019, 2021, 2023, so many bad entries. 1999, 2005 and 2006 weren't great either, but slightly better than 2017. Yes, they, the UK and Germany had to level up their game. I really want tbem to compete in the semi-final. Germany 2021 is horrendous as well, so were their efforts in 2016, 2017, 2019 and lots of stuff before that, especially from the language restriction area, although it's not their fault that their language sucks.

2 songs in and no, crap countdown....more clickbait than anything else.
i'll be honest... yes our song in 2011 was awful... but was a complete troll... the song is about standing up to the crisis in the Portuguese government... But at least even though they are a comedy act... I feel better represented as a Portuguese with this song rather than the craptacular entry we sent in 2019... I REALLY DISLIKE THAT ENTRY
Dishonorable Mention: Naviband "Story of my life"
Israel 2000 and North Macedonia 2000 are some of the worst songs in the world, not just in Eurovision 🤣
