    It's crazy how the sub-10 Nm range has completely exploded in the last few years, but as you said, not a lot in the 10-15 Nm range.
    I got a CSL DD w/ Boost Kit a while ago and absolutely love it, but definitely wouldn't mind something slightly more powerful - this definitely looks like a good option! The tuning software also looks great - seems like it'll be very intuitive and easy to use.
    I wonder if we'll see more wheelbases in this torque range soon.

    This looks like the perfect wheel strength for me, but alas nothing Moza works with PS5/Xbox Series X 😢 😢😢 Will probably force to to Fanatec until I switch to PC in the future. Great video as usual Mike. God bless and race on 👍😎🏁

    Fantastic Review as usual, Mr SimRacing604... so my wish given that we are fast approaching June 30th (EOFY SALES). So I'm just hoping that MOZA do some bundles with this R12. And I'm sure that a lot of people will grab a "complete" bundle when on sale, if they can't afford it at full cost....... I know I would be one of them at some point?. Thanks Mike ; )))

    Great review, Mike. If this base is anywhere near the R9, I am sure it is pretty fantastic. Looking forward to KS review.

    I just moved from being a long time G29 user to getting a DD( just the 5nm CSL DD) and the difference in DD to gears is so unreal. Anyone thinking about upgrading to something like this, and you have the money, do it.There is so much detail to be had with a DD, especially over something with gears. AMS 2 feels like a completely different game now. iRacing feels crazy(free membership from fanatec, but i went ahead and paid for the nord on it, and holy shit, it feels so good on a DD), and R3E is way better too. I can't imagine how nice something like this R12 would feel.

    • @SimRacing604
      @SimRacing604  Před 11 měsíci +2

      That’s the biggest jump in sim racing. Going from belt or gear drive to DD flips your whole perspective on FFB. R5 to R12 is less of a jump, but it’s still impressive

    Great review Mike. Just FYI you CAN use the Moza wheel(or any wheel for that matter) on your PS4/PS5 console using GIMX, which is an adapter that simulates a Logitech G29 on consoles. I use my Bodnar wheel and Heusinkveld Ultimates to play GT7 and it works beautifully.

    I like the design Mike as the other designs I have seen remind me of my Thrustmaster TS-pc and that isn't a good thing (mucho problems I have had) Not being console ready is not big deal either as I don't have one. I am ordering the r12 today. Thanks for the review as always really well done.

    Hey man I've been watching your videos for a few months now. Very helpful review for a complete rookie to sim racing like me. You make it easy to understand. Being a current console racer, do you think Moza would release a console/PC version of a DD wheelbase?

  • @petrhlavac9529
    @petrhlavac9529 Před 11 měsíci

    Hi. You say it's very notchy. Can you feel it with a very low feedback settings? I'm asking because of truck sims, where there's almost no FFB needed (3Nm at most) - what you need is super smooth turning. Is that an issue with R12? Thanks for your feedback

    Hello... Help me please... With the R12 the difference is 60 dollars for the T818... looking at the performance of the base only, without evaluating anything else, just the DD base, forgetting the difference in money.... what's your choice?

  • @wangte27
    @wangte27 Před 8 měsíci

    Fwiw the QR system (it's not just about the NRG style QR but developing a way to wirelessly transfer data and power using that) was copied from Simagic. R12 is notchy vs the G Pro because it's not a true servo but a BLDC motor. Your R21 uses a true servo and a higher bit rate encoder

      @SimRacing604  Před 11 měsíci

      @@SimRacing604 Thanks Mike! I think then as I am just getting into simracing the Logitech may work better for me, basically to experience and learn what good force feedback feels without too much tweaking, so if I upgrade later on I can better understand how to make the adjustments.

    Switching to a R5 from Fanatec belt...for the life of me, I cannot understand why 95% sim racers (casual) would need more than R5! 2nd, even the R5 requires a sturdy desk at minimum! I has a decent full tunbular rig and even that shakes at times (which is gud along with my bass shakers). And in AC, ACC and ATMS2 my FF strength is 45-55% at most. After 2 hours, my arms and hands get a gud workout! Maybe I've never tried a 9+ N-M base, but I have no desire to upgrade...is the R12 really worth it?

    • @SimRacing604
      @SimRacing604  Před 8 měsíci

      If you have the budget room, then yes. The R12 is just on another level from the R5. And keep in mind the peak torque rating shouldn’t correlate with strength, it should be associated with detail. The level of detail a higher output motor can produce is much higher because of rotational speed. The R5 is great, and realistically all most sim racers would ever need, but if you tried the R12 it would be hard to go back.
