In this video I am driving three cars that we rarely see in racing games or racing sims (if ever!). The Koenigsegg CCGT, the Gumpert Apollo Sport (GT1 homologated), and the Cup Series Pagani Zonda R. I'll be taking each for a lap of the Nurburgring Nordschleife.

Raceroom is an underestimated sim racing game, my favorites are the Group5, DTM92 and the GTOs

I didn't know that the original Zonda R ever counted as a road car. I always thought it was a track day special along the lines of the 599XX, FXX, Vulcan, etc.

What a great approach this channel has, fun experience with sensible commentary.
Makes me want to race on pc for more experiences.

Race Room Exp has some of the most visceral engine sounds of any sim. That looked like a blast to drive! Can't wipe that smile off your face 🙂 God Bless and race on 🏁

First wasnt a fan of Raceroom but ever since a physics update it was much better, one of my favourite sims

Yep I installed it before Christmas and used it once and didn't like the dynamics of the game. I'm used to GT7 driving style, I'll give this another go after they put an update thru

That Gumpert Apollo is a really unique one, haven't even seen the normal road car in any sims or games since the very early 2010's.

I have spent entirely too much money by owning all the major sims. This, AC, ACC, iRacing, RF2, AMS2, BeamNG etc. Raceroom has provided some of the outright best racing and their net code seems to be as close to perfect as it gets.
However, after that first week or two, the only active lobbies seemed to be the same free car and track combos over and over and that got old.
If it had a lot more users that were playing more interesting content, I'd be there.

It's fun but I can't justify 99€ for the complete cars and tracks pack when I've bought Assetto Corsa Ultimate Edition with all the DLCs for less than 10€. Anyway, I've tried the free content and I didn't like the physics compared to AC so I won't buy any additional content.

I am addicted to VR Sim Racing on AMS 2, In fact I do not think I can go back to using the TV screen, VR feels like I have stepped into my TV to Sim Race, Another thing I have found is how much faster I have become in VR, I actually think VR is making me a better Sim Racer a lot faster then I would when I use the TV, Or even triples I would say, I actually got myself in 15th place in the time Trail part of AMS 2 on the Nordsliefe in a McLaren MP4, 6.06 if I remember right, Either way I was chuffed getting that lap time, Has given the boost I need to believe in myself on getting the top ten at least, I do like the Time Trail part on AMS 2, Yeah I can't go back to using my TV after trying the Quest 2, Again, In fact I will be getting a Quest 3 when it is possible, And give the Quest 2 to my Daughter, Be great for meeting my Daughter in a VR Movie room, My Daughter lives a bit of distance, And I don't drive, I just Sim Race, Sounds good that do, I Don't Drive, I just Sim Race, lol....
But yeah I wonder how much faster VR can make a Sim racer be, Because me being honest yes VR can make you faster, Being able to see the Apex and lean into a corner so to speak, Also being able to flick to the left or right and see how close a car is to the side of you, So many benefits out weigh anything else, Making VR the best way to learn a track, And learn how a car behaves, There is far more feedback in the rear end slipping when in VR, Inside the car is again better for the sense of speed so you know how fast to enter a corner, I can see Sim racers all going over to VR, Now you got the Big Screen Beyond, And Pimax, And Pico, Now Xbox, VR is becoming every gamers choice for gaming, Why the F would you sit watching a screen you is playing when you can go inside a game, So another 2-3 years and hopefully VR prices drop, After all a VR headset isn't a big object so I would imagine far more can be produced, I can see TV companies and even monitor companies all jumping into VR and bringing TV glasses out, That you control with your phone with AR, And Sim Racing VR getting even more real looking, It is bad ass as it is, And I have only tried the Quest 2 on an i5 12600k with a 12gb 3060, And that is great fun, I can only imagine what a 4090 and Pimax crystal is like with VR, I can see a VR headset with i9 and 4090 specs inside the VR headset, Or the steam deck making a VR ready hand held to link a Quest up too, I wonder if you can run a small PC through the cable that goes on the side of the Quest, lol...
I am jumping on AMS 2 in Vr shortly, Sim Racing helps me with Anxiety and this week been horrible with Anxiety, VR is addictive I knows that much, I am getting Star Wars Squadrons next week I hope, For something a bit different, I tried Euro Truck 2 in VR and damn even that in experimental stage is flipping amazing, Also Dirt Rally 2 is bad ass, So yeah it will not be long before VR is used by nearly every Sim racer, I have already noticed in just 3 weeks people online now using VR, I ask every night out of curiosity, And people say the Quest 3 mainly, And the Quest 2, I got a WaveVR Elite battery strap, 5000mAH battery too, Has made the Quest properly comfy, I can easily Sim race for 3 hours, Prob 6 if I really wanted too, So for me VR isn't that bad, I am hooked put it one way, lol....
Yeah do you ever step into VR Sim racing mike....
Oh yeah I started PC Sim Racing using Race Room, I just found it a bit expensive for me, So I never stuck at Race Room, AMS 2 seemed to be in my budget over month after month, I could manage the prices on AMS 2, I only needs to get Monza and I think I got the whole of AMS 2, I can't say that about Race Room, Only being honest, And I ain't knocking Race Room, I got pretty good FFB, AMS 2 seemed to be my stay too Sim..
    top video though Mike....

Dunno how you drive with cockpit view lol. Front bumper view on any SIM for me. Although disappointed AssetaCorsa doesn't have that view

I was wondering what sort of rig you are using. I see something in the description but I don't think the wheelbase I see in the footage is a CSL DD, the wheel itself is also seems to be different. I am really curious, especially about the sequential shifter :)
