Im looking on buying an Onan 4500 portable generator but it looks exactly like the westinghouse portable one. Westinghouse is less expensive. I wonder if one company bought the other or if Onan just put their name on the westinghouse version?
After only 14 months of owning a P4500i generator by cummins today for know apparent reason the engine started surging. The fuel was drained from the tank and carburetor before storage, and new fuel was place in it before the reasons first start. Think I should have spent the extra money and bought a Honda

The Honda 2200 suitcase portable inverter generator you can install the hutch mountain aftermarket tri fuel kit to run on gasoline, propane or natural gas on the Honda 2200. I've added one of these Hutch mountain kits they are a very nice kit they're are for Honda only. A propane conversion kit company told me they thought they had a duel fuel kit for this Cummins Onan P2500I. It would be nice to see this already installed on this generator from the factory. Why propane? No carburetor problems running propane ever, last longer on propane, no gasoline in the oil - no carbon buildup in the motor or on the spark plug which causes more wear - tear - hard starts - want start and shortens life, no treating the fuel with propane, standard BBQ tank is 4.2 through 4.6 gallons depending on temperature when you fill propane, bigger than the one gallon fuel tank that comes with most of these little gasoline generators, propane is the cleanest burning fuel, propane has longevity and durability. And the same good goes for natural gas. Propane and natural gas are cleaner than any diesel burning engine. Don't get me wrong diesel engines are good but the propane, natural gas, hydrogen, gasification fuels there is no carbon or soot build-up at all in the engine. As of today March 31 2021 propane is a $1.49 a gallon. 87 octane gasoline is $2.55 a gallon.
These are sold in the UK, by the Hyundai importer, as P1PE 4000i "powered by Hyundai". They have the same blue casing as the Westinghouse. Given that Cummins, Westinghouse and Hyundai are all respected brands, could it be they're selling their name to a Chinese supplier? I'm now a bit dubious as to whether I have a Hyundai powered generator or not.
