Classic target fixation. He was running the guys line he was following. Even heavily experienced riders will do this at times. You go where you're looking. Hope he makes a full recovery that one made me pucker too!
No. Experienced long time riders don't decide it's more important to impress other riders. Then target fixate, just because they want to stop on the side of the road where their friends just did for social time and bragging.
Yeah and it looks like too much speed to even react corectly because he focus on that guy not on the road..

Looked to me he was already showing signs of target fixation as he was passing those last few cars and looking at them, looked like he managed to adjust himself just in time a few times.

Hey we all have accidents and learn from them , he definitely has skill he just needs to learn to control that skill and i think this will have taught him a valuable lesson and he will learn from it
@@Lew699 luckily he is still alive to learn from it. 3 ft to the left and he and his buddy would have been in bad shape.
Guys . The bike size had nothing to do with this accident, he could have easily crashed that way on any bike.
The accident seemed to happen because his buddy suddenly pulled over. Now I dunno if he said over the coms or not, but it wouldn’t matter , that was such an abrupt switch from high adrenal corner banging to pulling over in an instant. The follower rider naturally followed the guy in front of him , by the time he realized he was stopping , and the pavement was ending , there was no hope.
My point is I think he wouldn’t have crash if they had gone into the next turn rather than follow his friend to the shoulder.
If you do this kind of riding , you should have a warm up and cool down period. Don’t go balls the to the wall constantly, slow down and cruise a moment before pulling over , DONT worry if you miss the shoulder where your friends are, just blow by and turn back after you’ve slowed down and let your nerves adjust . There’s a reason. You gotta go easy on the pit road at the track!

Some people don't understand that when we go out riding its always a possible goodbye, it could be the last time we see our loved ones... We do this because of the passion we feel inside that makes us the person we are. And many tell us to stop but all we can do is pray there will be another day and focus 1000% when we go out again.

Track days have professional Emergency Personnel on hand to assist in serious crashes. You’ve been VERY lucky but your luck WILL run out eventually! Be safe!

as a side note, moving the visor up quickly like he did RIGHT after a motorcycle crash is a bad idea
if you need to open it, you want to SLOWLY move it open while supporting the neck and keeping it from moving. Even if the person on the ground says "im fine", dont believe them, the adrenalin has dumped and they arent feeling as much pain as they should be
Tiny movements like in the video when he took the visor off can mean the difference between riding again and being paralyzed, spinal and neck injuries are no joke
WHY did he stop there abruptly and without communication? If y'all are rippin through those curves you need to be on the same page as a group. Dude's focus shifted from the road to his friend stopping to the amount of braking distance he doesn't have.

These guys ride like idiots. If you keep high speed riding to the track and are a smart rider on the street you minimize a ton of risk.

He was playing follow the leader instead of paying attention to his own lines. He saw his buddy veer to the side so he did the same knowing too late it was to slow down.

f you go back and watch the crash at .25x speed you realize what exactly happened. This wasn't a over perfomance related crash..... My guy literally forgot to ride his own ride and forgot that you can go further down the road and turn around if you have too. He damn near killed himself and his boy trying to stop on time.... I've made similar errors but one resulted in a brutal highside in which i *learned* my fucking lesson. I have more spacial awareness now and I find I don't get into these hot situations nearly as often. I'm glad the rider is okay and he needs to learn to ride his own ride 100% of the time. God Bless
