    @victork9313 Před 3 lety +39

    OBSERVATION: When Mourinho first came to England, he and his team did things different from what many were used to. Taking into account that Chelsea were no where near the biggest teams in the league at the time, namely Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool, Mourinho and Chelsea's success IRRITATED the majority of people associated with the "big" clubs: managers, players, fans and journalists who supported these teams. If you supported any of these teams then you know what am talking about. Over 10 years later, some of these managers and players (former) are now pundits. Do expect them to like Mourinho all of a sudden? Listen to what they say and discern their view, it's often based on their previous 'negative' experience with Mourinho and his Chelsea team. Same goes with the journalists. Infact, the bigger the team was at the time, the more irritated they were and still are with Mourinho. Nothing good about him comes out of their mouth, if it does, then just wait for a 'but' at some point. It's as if Mourinho got the better of them at that time and now it's time to get the better of him by ruining him.
    Unfortunately, that's what resentment often leads to!

    @sabamfo Před 3 lety +6

    Simon is bang on. Jose is a serial winner. Players and media who are not serial winners will always have a problem with him. If winning trophies was easy, every player would win one. It takes a winning mentality both coach/manager and players. Spurs have not had a winning mentality for a long time, now the reality of that winning mentality is too much for the majority of its players. Ownership has to stay strong. Winners only know how to win and losers only know how to loose. Changing that mind set is at times an ugly transition and takes time.

    I think there is a deeper point to be made here. Whether Jose is right or not to make these comments, if they really effect the players that much, then it reveals the fragility of the modern footballer. Whatever the coach says/thinks, when the match starts you have a duty to yourself as a professional to perform to the best of your ability and win the game.

The loss of points those players have oversaw in matches this season & the pitiful display against Zagreb must have Jose wishing he had a Terry and Lampard he could put on that pitch to get in those players who are under performing faces. If only the media were as critical of the players as they are of the managers at these clubs. But they need throwing under the bus if only in the hope it embarrasses them into toughening up for the remaining matches.

    The problem is we as a society expect a utopia of football, with every side playing football like Manchester city or Liverpool, its not Mourinho's accomplishment that people question it is his style - a rather reactive, pressure inducing, possession less football, however people forget that sides like Brighton and Leeds are below Tottenham in the table because if you do not have the right personnel for that brand of football, you will struggle. Mourinho has a different style of football and he has been successful with it, i can't believe the arrogance of these journalists and players few of whom have won nothing in their careers questioning a legend like Mourinho. A manager cannot accomplish anything without complete devotion and belief in his ideals by his players, the problem here is the constant demeaning of Jose and the hypocrisy of the British media for praising Pep and inspite of similar levels of success, who last won a European trophy 10 years ago , has left a lasting effect on the man's confidence.

      @Hannibal Lecter Chelsea players have deliberately played badly to get managers sacked for the past 10 years so I don't see how that can just be a Jose problem. Hazard and Fabregas have both come out since Jose was sacked by Chelsea and admitted the players were to blame but that wouldn't fit your agenda against Mourinho. You also forgot to mention that Jose is Chelsea's greatest ever manager. Players have also got 2 other managers sacked at Manchester United as well as Jose over not even a 5 year span. They went as far to complain about the smallest things such as chips being taken away when Moyes was there to try and get rid of him as quickly as possible and Jose was the last manager to win trophies at Man Utd 4 years ago. The same things happened at Real Madrid too. The dressing room deliberately turned against Benitez to get him sacked, players even made fun of his weight regularly. Players there also undermined Solari and Lopetegui too but obviously you chose to ignore this. I bet you had nothing bad to say about Jose in November but now all of a sudden you've come out from underneath your rock
