    [Part 1 of 2]
During the 1970s and ’80s, a predator was stalking the streets of Anchorage, Alaska. By day, he was a respectable family man who ran his own business. But at night, he would prowl Anchorage’s infamous Tenderloin District, looking for vulnerable or destitute women...

Case file is my favourite true crime podcast to listen to. I think all the people involved in the production process are very professional thank you. Plus the narrator is exceptional. His narration of the stories is very respectful of the victims of horrific crimes and not over sensationalised as other true crime docos do with the presenter over the top with finger nails like chickens claws lips oversized with Botox.
You are a very unique podcast. Again thankyou for all your hard work and research. Perth down under western Australia.

Rape against another person with a weapon should require a life sentence. Not much different then murder since it could have ended in murder. Shows a lack of conscience or concern for another person and a danger for other people. Life. The people who left this guy out should have been charged. Can we praise the first physiologist who diagnosed this monster appropriately despite being sought out by defense. They got another doctor but at least the first one had integrity and the right diagnosis.

In general I'm a believer in criminal rehabilitation (we don't DO it very well, or even at all, but I believe it's possible) -- but sexual predators are the one exception. Their compulsions seem to be so strong that they reoffend over and over and over again, even though the eyes of the law are already on them, until they finally do something so heinous that they get put away for good -- but not until they've left a long wake of destroyed lives and lasting trauma behind them. And you hear time and again how they're released early because they're 'model prisoners' with 'good behavior,' a fact that never fails to leave me gobsmacked. How credulous the law is: of COURSE they're 'model prisoners:' they're not imprisoned with the women, children, or vulnerable adolescents who are, 9 times out of 10, their preferred victims. Their good behavior isn't proof of anything at all.

I don't know even where to begin with the blaze attitude of the police. Unbelievable. Then the negligence of the justice system. But if he was such a wonderful family man, husband and father, and business owner, how is he getting around in the night with so much ease, killing and/or raping women? I mean, even if his friends and family couldn't reconcile with the charges he'd been sentenced with and jailed for (for 5 freaking minutes), when he goes AWOL, isn't his wife at all curious?? Bizarre.

The only conclusion I can come to is that the judges, prosecutors, parole boards, etcetera in certain locations have a tremendous dislike for women. I can see no other reason for their idiotic and evil decisions to let these men out on the streets preying on women time after time. The justice system in sime particular areas is insane. I wish that a law would be passed that any judge, etcetera that lets one of these freaks out on the street to prey once again on women should get severe prison time.

Fiona did some very stupid things. Smiling at a strange man in a car, going to the door wrapped only in a towel, allowing a strange man to enter her apartment. She had zero self preservation instincts and is way beyond lucky to have survived that encounter. I can't imagine being so completely clueless.

I was wondering if anyone else would comment about why she would answer her door and then allow a total stranger into her home when she was nude and only wrapped in a towel and evenengage in conversation. I totally expected to hear that she was raped and murdered on the spot. I'm not blaming her, but that was completely foolish. She was extremely lucky to have survived.

What's wrong with these people! Whenever I'm in the car and I lock eyes with some bloke, I don't sit there staring at him and then giving him a smile. I just look, then look quickly away, but also am very aware of the possibility of that bloke being a creep. And answering the door covered only with a towel??? And letting same creepy bloke into your flat based on a flimsy excuse??? And no, this isn't victim blaming. It's sheer stupidity all the things Fiona did that were so unsafe and naive. Both men and women need to be more wary of strangers, and women especially can be vulnerable to possible rape and death! Can't listen anymore to this podcast. it's really, really annoying me!
