Swap to the rhino 660 carburetor and delete your EGR system. Electronic distributor is on eBay. Adjust the valves per the mighty boy specifications. Also, didn't see you engage the wheel locks for 4wd? You forget? You need anything let me know. I've done the leg work on these bud.
Yeah, they were a great vehicle on the golf course back in the day around 1990's. One other company you might check for parts is Diahatsu out of Japan. Let me say it brought back some memories, Thanks!!👍👍

The smoke I sW was blue...oil burning .... rings, head gasket or both... fuel usually equals black smoke... Sometimes those little carbs just don't do well even with a rebuild and you just have to replace them.
yeah, blue smoke indicates oil burning. No telling how long fuel was in the oil, very likely since the mechanical fuel pump went bad. Worse case, the cylinder walls got washed down and caused the cylinder walls and rings to wear out.

I have seen cavitation make the fuel pressure gauge snap back and forth like that. Good call to replace the pump.

Sir that is 6valves engine and mechanical fuel pump,and also a contact point so you need 2 adjust the contact point.
Compression test it. Get some Seafoam from Napa add some to fuel system and crank case. Stuff is awesome maybe you already knew that. Did you check to see if the mechanical advance is working in the distributor. Just rev the motor and see if the timing advances with the light. This would cause the motor to rev slowly if not working also without the vac advance it would rev on the slow side down low.

Should make a block off plate for the old mech fuel pump mount and delete it.
Valve stem seals..... Pressure test each cylinder before you crack the head..if your not getting a steady puff i wouldn't suspect rings or bad cylinder... Pressure test or a bore scope or wire cam can tell you the answer without cracking the head. Try pulling the pcv valve to see if you have blowbye.....if the smoke clears while open venting wala seen a 3.4 an 6.7 smoke bad because of bad pcv or crank case vent filter'. high rpm an crank case pressure can cause the oil to over pressure into the cylinders. IIC or IAC would be the thermal choke control. Think like a 3vze there. If idle sticks high give it a tap sometimes it's a instant drop. She stuck capt.

Get you some vessel jis screwdrivers for working on Japanese vehicles. Those gearwrench screwdrivers will mess up those screws where there not really Phillips.

I’ve never driven a right side vehicle. Is the clutch left or right foot?
Clutch is still left foot!
The hardest thing to adapt to is the gear change pattern. It’s the same pattern as cars you normally drive but your using your other hand. I’m from Australia (right hand drive) but I drove in France and it took a lot of concentration to change gears with the wrong hand.
Also your mirrors/ blind spots are in different places. Also the indicator and wiper stalks are reversed!
Old Carbs never be as new... sniper injection would be reliable solution. Try some oil additives before opening engine.
