I have a DELL 15-7537 i7-laptop, that I bought in December-2014. It is now nearly 10 years old. I updated the operating-system from WINDOWS-8 to WINDOWS-10-Pro. And removed all applications except for antivirus, & Microsoft-Office. But the laptop still takes many minutes to boot-up. And the software-applications also run very slow. I believe it is because the original DELL battery is dead, as the battery will not store a charge. I have to use the laptop, continuously connected to the AC power-supply.
I think that with a dead-battery, the AC power-supply is working hard to attempt to recharge the dead-battery. And at same time, the laptop is draining power from the battery to run the hard-disk drive, and software-applications.
So I suspect that replacing the dead-battery with a new battery will help speed up boot time, and run applications faster.
Join me in this video, as I replace the battery.
