Cool. I recently put WIN 11 on a 2010 core 2 duo. Understanding the difficulty, hats off to you for accomplishing it on a core duo. I installed a Cirrus driver for the sound.
Thanks
I got sick of watching ads on youtube. Now I watch videos of people watching ads on youtube. Much better.
Haha yeah I hate ads too that's why I have Adblockers on my daily machines. They still work in Firefox on CZcams
For Mac mini 2006 the Audio driver is the Sigmatel one in the BootCamp Driver files. I got Audio working on Mac mini 2006 with Windows 10 by installing the Sigmatel audio driver (Cirrus driver did not work). I found out the hard way, posting to save other fellow Mac mini 2006 owners time and frustration.
Just installed Win10 on a Core 2 Duo with 8 GB RAM. After seeing this video I feel privileged ;)
Thanks for keeping it out of the landfill.
Say what you will about windows, but the fact that you can run a still-supported OS (even if it’s a stripped-down version of it) on such old hardware is a plus in my book.
Apple, for all the quality of their hardware, can’t be bothered to allow their own applications to run on old, but still capable hardware. Context: I recently got a 2011 Core i7 MBP, which I upgraded (12gb ram, SSD) yet as it was limited to High Sierra there were SO many apps I could not download, despite the hardware being more than able to run it.
This is a reason why I moved away from Apple years ago. I just don't like being told what to do. I like Mac OS, but I won't go back anymore.
@@MacintoshMen ironically, I just bought my first MacBook Air 😂 but I still have my Windows Desktop
Hi from Peru!. I was wondering if Imac 21.5 inch, 2017 can upgrade the cpu? Mine has 2.3 GHz intel core i5 2 core/ 32 gb 2133 mHz DDR4 macOS Monterey
No you can't unfortunately, the CPU is soldered to the board.
@@MacintoshMen oh damn... thank you
I just put tiny 10 on my 2014 mac but the internet doesn't work, when I look online it only suggests fixes if you installed it with boot camp which I did not so I don't know what to do, I can't update any other of the drivers too as there's no internet. I even tried plugging my iphone into my laptop and use the hotspot but it wouldn't find it...
Maybe try downloading the internet driver to a usb flash drive and it install it this way on the Mac. Once you have internet, you can go from there installing the rest.
@@MacintoshMen I don't know what the internet driver is and where to find it :(
I want to try to download the drivers you mentioned in the video but I also don't know how to download them as I can't "add" drivers only update them so I don't know what to do...
Actually nvm I found a solution to it all, ima just make a new comment so if someone has the same problems they might see it
Actually the lagging on windows are caused by the intel gma Microsoft driver corp, wich is kinda crap, you need to have the intel driver to have it more smooth, but yeah interesting to see Windows 10 on those
Thanks for pointing that out, one might try it.
Does snappy driver installer origin work?
I don't know, I haven't tried it.
Not bad... you gotta get the sound driver. Cirrus 32 bit version. Windows 7 32bit version .
Thanks for the input but no luck with the cirrus driver
Is this actually a licensed version of Win10 one can register?
If you have a valid Windows key I don't see why it shouldn't activate. Maybe it'll be some complications with the "Enterprise" version but I have no experience there.
Disable windows updates and windows defender completely then you can use the machine fine and also 720p playback will be possible with h264 codec extension on youtube or you can also try playing it through VLC not on youtube, I installed windows 10 on a core2 duo machine in 2016 but it was on E8200 CPU much more useable but I did turn off windows updates, idle at 1-2% cpu usage
also check my other comment youtube flags it but you can see it in your video dashboard
Yeah Core 2 Duos are much more capable I suppose. I don't see your other comment anywhere though.
You didn't need to install OSX you could just repartition the disk from the installer!
Then it would have erased OS X and I didn't want that.
