When your family members have left the graveyard after burying you, there will be tests that you will have to face in your grave. It is an ending that we will all have to face. But, are we ready?

Thanks for the lecture series, a topic I have been hoping you would cover for several years.
Who is going through the Fitna/Naeem/Adab of Kabr? The Soul, the Body or the being that is a combination of soul and body. based on prior lectures i understood it to be the latter, but based on the 1st topic of today's lecture, I might have misunderstood. I'll revisit each of the lectures again, but appreciate if you could address it. Also my question is not regd the Prophet, Sahabah or Shaheed but minions like us. Episode 5 Notes: The Location of the Souls in the Barzakh
There is no exact answer on the location of the souls in the Barzakh. There are many theories by Islamic Scholars on where the souls are, such as the souls being where they were prior to birth. Another theory is that, the souls aren’t anywhere and another is that, the souls are where they are buried near their bodies.
Things that lead to Adhab Al Qabr:
1. Being a Kafir - Mentioned explicitly in the Quran.
2. Being a Munafiq - Mentioned explicitly in the Quran.
3. Not cleaning the private parts after using the bathroom. This refers to people who don’t clean themselves habitually. This applies only to the believers.
4. Someone who engaged in Nameema I.e someone who causes drama between people. This applies to the believers and it refers to those who do it habitually.
5. Someone who engages in Gheeba i.e backbiting. This applies to the believers and it refers to those who do it habitually.
6. Someone who Is arrogant. This applies to the believers and it refers to those who do it habitually.
7. Someone who wails over the dead. This applies to the believers and it refers to those who do it habitually.
8. Stealing the Ghanima from the battlefield. Applies to the believer and refers to one who does it.
9. The one who dies and has debt. Refers to one who abuses other people’s generosity. This doesn’t apply to someone who needed the cash and thus had debts.
10. The one who eats Riba. The punishment for this will be swimming in a river of blood and being hit by a rock.
11. Lying. The Hadiths mention how the head of a liar will be split. This is the punishment of the one who habitually engaged in slander, lies, Gheeba and Nameema.
12. Engaging in Zina. Those who engaged in this will be hung upside down.
13. Not praying Salaahs on time (Especially Fajar). The punishment for this is having one’s head crushed open.
Because of points 3-13 are major sins. The scholars have interpreted this to mean that, any major sin can lead to the Adhab Al Qabr.
Fun Trivia fact: The Ruh of the Shaheed is within the bodies of green birds in the skies of Jannah.
Fun Trivia fact: According to Aisha RA, the Kafir is punished whenever someone wails over them.
Fun Trivia fact: Hadiths can be criticised for their “Isnad” (chains). However, they also can be criticised for the “Matan” (wording) if it contradicts the Qur’an or other explicit sources.
Fun Trivia fact: Shuhadah are the only ones whose souls are in Heaven, Everyone else is waiting in the Barzakh.
Fun Trivia fact: The sinful Muslim will never be punished in the same way that, a Kaafir or Munafiq is punished.
Fun Trivia fact: The Prophet SAW would stay in the graveyard after someone dies, after the Janazah, for a long time. This is a forgotten Sunnah.
Fun Trivia fact: Ibrahim AS and Sara AS are the caretakers of children who pass away prior to puberty, until they meet their family in Jannah.

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, these are my notes on Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Life in the Barzakh series.
Please note: I HIGHLY recommend that you all watch YQ’s Barzakh series, as I DON’T cover every single detail the Sheikh mentions. I made these notes primarily for myself but, decided my fellow brothers and sisters may benefit from them too. I no doubt will have made mistakes in my notes. All the good in these notes is from Allah SWT and all the mistakes are from myself. But, I was very meticulous and tried my best to make sure everything is accurate as the Sheikh mentions it.
You also will see I have added “Fun Trivia facts” under each of my notes. These FTFs are information YQ said that was off topic or not necessary to include in my notes for the episode. But, they were still worth mentioning hence the inclusion as FTFs. FTFs aren’t always HAPPY pieces of information. Sometimes they are very sad trivia. I just want to say that FTF is the phrase I used for them all collectively when making the notes.
One thing I wanted to do but am too lazy to do is, maybe someone could take the FTFs from under each “Episode” and make an Islamic reminder/information IG/TikTok account and post them daily or something. It Could be a great form of Sadaqah Jaariyah.

We are taught to make dua’ against (1) punishments of jahannam, (2) punishment of Qubr, (3) trials of life and death, (4) trials of al-masihid Dajjal. Included in these is azabil Qubr. Will this dua’ not help us to be protected against azabil Qubur?

Assalamoualaikoum brother l just watched the fourth parts of world of BARZAK you mentioned about prophet S.A.W visited the grave of the lady who used to clean masjid, l would like to know if he S.A.W did salaat janaaza for the lady
As salaam alaikum brother. He stated in that video that the prophet (saw) didnt make it to the janaza because the sahaba buried the lady before fajr and didnt want to wake him up. So he went to the grave of the lady and made dua for her. Forgive mr if I've made any mistakes and Allah knows best.

My dad (believer) died from COVID-19. He didn’t get a gushol! Every one said he is a shahid and he didn’t need a gushol and only Tayammum was performed! He was in the hospital by himself with a lot of breathing problems. I don’t know if it was right not to bath his body ☹️

Thank you for this great lecture. I am just wondering if the soul is not with the body in the grave, how would anyone feel the pains of the grave? If the soul is no longer in the body, the body it’s self is just a shell. This is my understanding I could be wrong. A body with out a soul is like a car without driver. How could we feel the pains of the grave if the soul is not with the body? Allah knows best.

1- He said there is a hadith where it says that when a person dies the whole family is waiting for the soul in barzakh and they catch up on news of this world this means souls basically are living in barzakh like we are in this world
2- then He also says that one hadith says when the soul passess all tests in grave and the soul then says that let me go back to tell my family that everything went well and i am fine but the angels ask him to sleep does that mean the soul sleeps till the day of judgement and wakes up when day of judgement will come
my question is how does these two hadith relates then where one hadith says soul goes meet his relatives another says soul sleeps in grave?
Asallamualikum, I'm a Muslim.. just curious about humans not being able to see the soul because it's in a different realm.. you had mentioned in the previous lecture in this series that wherever the remains of the body /corpse reside, there this where the rooh returns for it's questioning by munkar and nakheer..whether it be buried, into ashes or what not.. therefore meaning the soul does return to it's kabr in that period..the possiblity being what if in that time frame someone (living human) sees the soul then somehow. (P.s if Allah Taala states it's impossible for the human eye to witness the rooh, be it a pious individual or not, then I totally accept it to be true..) just curiosity.. as u stated the rooh isn't in our realm..was a bit confusing.. please clarify

Shaykh Ibn Baaz (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
The grave is either one of the gardens of Paradise or one of the ditches of Hell, and punishment or bliss happen to both the soul and body in the grave… and also in the hereafter. The delights of Paradise affect both the soul and the body, and the torments of Hell affect both the soul and the body.
If a person dies by drowning or by burning, or by being devoured by wild animals, the soul experiences its share of torment or bliss, and the one whose body is in the sea or was burned or is in the bellies of wild animals will also have its share of that, in a manner that is known to Allah, may He be glorified and exalted.

تھوڑی دیر کے بعد ایک اعرابی آیا جس کے پاس بڑی فربہ ایک اونٹنی تھی
وہ بولا اے علی! یہ اونٹنی خریدو گے؟ فرمایا پیسے پاس نہیں
اعرابی نے فرمایا ادھار دیتا ہوں یہ کہہ کر اونٹنی کی مہار حضرت 💚علی رضی اللہ عنہ💚 کے ہاتھ میں دے دی اور خود چلا گیا۔
اتنے میں ایک دوسرا اعرابی نمودار ہوا اور کہا💚علی رضی اللہ عنہ💚 اونٹنی دیتے ہو؟
فرمایا لے لو اعرابی نے کہا تین سو نقد دیتا ہوں
یہ کہا اور تین سو نقد حضرت علی رضی اللہ عنہ کو دے دیئے اور اونٹنی لے کر چلا گیا
اس کے بعد💚 حضرت علی رضی اللہ عنہ نے پہلے اعرابی کو تلاش کیا مگر وہ نہ ملا
آپ گھر آئے اور دیکھا💚🕋💚 حضور صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم حضرت فاطمہ رضی اللہ عنہا کے پاس تشریف فرما ہیں💚🕋💚 حضور صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مسکرا کر فرمایا۔

🔹 حضرت ابن شاذان (علیہ الرحمہ) نے حضرت عبد الله بن مسعود رضی الله عنہ کی روایت بیان کی ہے کہ ہم نے حضرت رسول الله صلی الله علیہ وآله وسلم کو کبھی اتنا اشک بار نہیں دیکھا جتنا کہ آپ ﷺ حضرت حمزہ رضی الله عنہ کی شہادت پر اشک بار ہوئے، آپ ﷺ نے انہیں قبلہ کی جانب رکھا، پھر آپ ﷺ جنازہ کے سامنے قیام فرما ہوئے، آپ ﷺ اس قدر اشک بار ہوئے کہ سسکیاں بھی لینے لگے، قریب تھا کہ رنجیدگی کے سبب آپ ﷺ پر بیہوشی طاری ہو جائے۔ آپ یہ فرماتے جاتے:
* يا حمزةُ ! يا عمَّ رسولِ ﷲ ! و أسدَ ﷲ! و أسدَ رسوله ! ياحمزةُ ! يا فاعلَ الخيراتِ ! ياحمزةُ ! ياکاشفَ الکُرُباتِ ! ياذابّ عن وجه رسولِ ﷲ! *
🔸 ترجمہ: اے حمزہ! اے رسول الله کے چچا، الله اور اس کے رسول کے شیر! اے حمزہ! اے بھلائیوں میں پیش پیش رہنے والے! اے حمزہ! اے رنج و ملال اور پریشانیوں کو دور کرنے والے! اے حمزہ! رسول الله کے چہرۂ اَنور سے دشمنوں کو دور بھگانے والے!
حضور ﷺ جب نماز جنازہ ادا فرماتے تو چار مرتبہ تکبیر فرماتے اور آپ نے حضرت حمزہ رضی الله عنہ کی ستر (۷۰) مرتبہ تکبیر کے ساتھ نمازِ جنازہ ادا فرمائی۔ امام بغوی نے اس روایت کو اپنی معجم میں نقل کیا ہے۔

Shaykh would mind tell us how long Barzakh takes if we count in our days or hours since the person passed away. Is it only couple hours? or days or what.. I'm still lost in that part. And 2) does the reciting Quran helps to dead person if family members reads after him for ease going through that process? Thanks in advance.

Does people who die from first trumpet blow by israfil go through barzakh?
The shaikh explained this in one of the previous videos. He basically explained how there is a difference of opinion on whether the trumpet will be blown 2 or 3 times... and that the consensus leans towards 2. Also that the first trumpet is for the people of the dunya ( for their worldly death) and it does not affect the ones in the grave. The second trumpet is for everyone, we will all be risen from our graves/ worldly death and will be made to stand for the commencement of the day of judgement. Hope this helps❤

I have some confusions previously he said that rooh go to their graves. Where they wud go into trance. Deep sleep then why r we discussing location of rooh again? Isn't that grave that expanded or shrinked based on the human?
This lecture is only regarding the location of Souls only - Previous with Body + Soul together when arriving in Grave.

Very few among us will do it. So it is very safe not to go into Riba.
Also do not go to hajj from haram home, when mortgage is paid up, and then come back to haram home and think that you have done great good deeds then remember these ayas of the Quran-ul-Karim.
"Say,"Shall We inform you of the greatest losers (as to their) deeds? 18:103."
"Those- is lost their effort in the life (of) the world, while they think that they(were) acquiring good (in) work."18:104.

Souls are definitely allowed by Allah Ta'ala to come and visit their loved ones but this only happens with pious people who have reached a certain station.
Saints that have passed away are allowed to visit other saints or very pious people. Just because it has not happened to you or that you have not experienced it, does not mean it does not happen. It does happen.

"In the end" and "at the end" have its own specific meaning. "At the end" refer to 1 specific moment which is "the end", while "in the end" refer to a moment within another moment or in other word "during the end" or "somewhere during the end".
even trying to say "AT the end" felt weird because you never considered "end" as location, you are thinking rhetorically so "end" isn't a place where "at" is appropriate. "End" is an idea; like "reaching conclusion" or "exhaustion of thinking". When you say "In the end" you meant when someone in a state where he finalise his thinking/deliberation.
