- This is a review of the Hoosier 11x6.0-6 slick tire in D10a rubber compound for the Onewheel XR, as well as the Plus. It's not for the Pint, but I did make a video for Pint tires (link below). In addition to the tire, I compare it to the Flight Fins Whisper tire, and then talk about tire philosophy in general.

For the record, the “GENERIC” it’s the original FF just put a badge on Hoosier tires. Confirmed by Hoosier tires in Indiana. The main factory. And cheaper.
The T1 was a stamped 11x6.0x6 too. Handy as we have hoosier UK to order from here
Great video Mario! Loved the new slow-mo shots, also the t-shirt is brilliant.
I've been WAITING for a video like this from you! Thanks Mario!
Great video as always! I currently am riding the same tire as you have mentioned in this video. That was very informative and interesting about the different "batches." I thought I was going crazy because I purchased the same tire a while back and I could have sworn it was more flatter, but this current one is a bit more rounder. My personal opinion, I feel the Burris slick is much "grippier" than Hoosier but my complaint with Burris, is the roundness. Looking forward to the next video!!
Love the sidewalk survival footage.
Good honest information..thanks
Another cool video 🤙🏽
Just put the enduro tire on and so far I’m really impressed
Keep it up Mario nice meeting you tonight!
Likewise! I had a good time chatting. Thank you and be well! 🙏
@@TheBoardGarage we should do another speed/ distance video!
Agree with everything but the 'you'll probably get use to it' when it comes to the Vega. Nope, every ride reminded me how bad it was, waiting was difficult, i truly, believe the Vega is a great training tire, but once off, no going back. #whisperforthewin but will try your recommendation in the future. thisvideoisaoxo
I switched to threaded Hoosier D20A recently. Not so loud and much grippier than the old unknown Treaded Hoosier that Earl gave me last year :)
Interesting, I guess maybe I was unlucky then and got a tire from a bad batch. I bought into the hype and got a whisper more than a year ago and hated it. I currently have the hoosier tire you recommended and love it.
"... and [if] you thought this content was awful, hit the dislike button twice" ~ I see what you did there
Have you don't a video on the footpad you use? I've watched some of your videos and you show up when i type in "Surestance Fusion" but haven't found a video talking about it. Just curious if that's what you use and what lead you to that. Thanks and love your channel!
I could only find the Hoosier slick in the D30A compound for my upcoming GTR 👍 I'm coming from a Pint X w/ Hoosier slick D10A so hopefully the ride noise/feel isn't degraded much going to the D30A compound.
I'd like to see you grab the pre-order tfl enduro tire on Friday (should take about a month to ship), that thing is going to be a beast and you'll probably never (want to) ride a different tire again. I'd like to see what you think of it. They also have the paid subscription YT Tier 2 that get to fight for the really early tires which will probably be around in about 2 weeks depending on whatever happens
I'm more about the durability, I ride city streets and there is broken glass everywhere, they are like little razor blade cubes of glass and destroy a soft slick.
I use the Burrris 6 Inch treaded tire in tx-33 compound. The treaded tire has a stronger thicker carcass under the tread, and thicker rubber because it's treaded. And also the tx-33 compound is plenty grippy but nice and tough. Currently has over 4000 miles of fast city riding on that Burris and might get another 800 miles before the edges are bald.
Side note; with thicker carcass and tougher tread you need less pressure, I find the Burris treaded with 16 psi is similar softness to the stock Vega with 20 psi.
Thank you for sharing this valuable info. I'm currently riding the same tire in D30A compound. Did you maybe have the opportunity to compare the two? I would guess that the tire pressure would have a much bigger influence on the ride than the compound hardness. But of course, this is just an assumption as I didn't have the chance to compare myself. Great video, keep up the good work and float on! Rado
I don't find hardness affects much for OW applications. They all grip up about the same, maybe a minor traction loss for a lot more durability.
Any plans on upgrading tire on floatwheel? :)
exactly in wheel sports it's turning behavior. Carving is for cooked meats. I love your content and knowledge just getting into one wheel
Does anyone know if a Hoosier A40 compound would be OK with an XR? I'm assuming A40 is harder than a D compound?
Hi Mario, I'd like to know why these tires have no pattern as those of bike
Well since you said you didn’t like any of the treaded tires, which one did you hate the least? ;)
Does anyone have experience with the hoosier 6" treaded? Looking for a soul purpose grass tire that's stable and with tread
What. Didn''t I watch this video yesterday? haha, I remember asking you why you didn't like treaded tires.
There were audio issues in the first upload. I literally spent until 1:30am, and then from 9am to 12pm troubleshooting. Figured it out, and so here it is again. I appreciate you watching again!
And I don't really care for the vibration that treaded tires have on pavement. 👍
So the FF Whisper is more stable than the Hoosier on the XR but vice versa for the Pint? 🤔
I just tried the Whisper and it's way too wobbly for my taste. I'm hoping the generic Hoosier slick is better.
I just put a stock Vega on my GTR until I can get an Enduro 😅 I need my 6.5" wide stability.
What do you use for a camera in your studio??
Sony a7s3.
So the 11.0x6 -6 fits on the xr/ plus rim?
Absolutely
not a fan of hoosier whisper i had a bad time with it, its too fragile for me, currently riding maxxis orange EL and enjoying it so far, people who say its a brick havent tried it
Why not treaded?
How about carvable?
engagement boost? maybe
2:40 that is the WORST sidewalk I have EVER seen. How has the city not done anything about it yet?
Hi
My dude really thinks "turn-ish" is a better word than carvy haha to each their own I guess!
