replacing the rear rocker panel on Crusty. The rusty Toyota drag car project. building the inside rocker as well as the inner and outer rocker using basic tools
"Want to see how to build a Toyota body with metal from around your shop?" "Stick around". Always learning from these videos. Looking forward to the next one.
Fitzee... You take the 3lb steak and make it into 6, nice 8oz. That you can manage, 1 bite at a time.. You break down these big jobs into little, WINNABLE, projects.. You Give me courage to fix my '80 Bronco.. You Sir, are THE BEST!!! Peace my friend!!!
I have no clue why I’ve been spending so much time watching these rust repair videos. I live in Florida and haven’t seen a rot like this in years. Great info though.
Well Jake from state farm what are you wearing ha ha ha I had a Florida car from the coast come in the shop and it was full of rust so u must live in land that might have been rusty 56 2 hardtop I ever seen lot rust in the roof that you just don't see out here but I guess the wind carries the salt where ever
You take something that is a lot of work and you break it down into smaller sections. I've watched your videos and have learned so much. When I start repairing my pickup this spring, from frame repair up to the body panels; I will be using your tips and tricks to do it. Instead of seeing it as one large job, I now see it as a combination of a bunch of small jobs.
That is exactly how I feel. You star out with a big project part and break it down into smaller parts. Always great instruction. Thank you for making all of the videos!!!
You put more thought and care into it than the original manufacturer. They cut out the blanks, stamp it "close enough" and then bam, bam, bam, spot weld and maybe shoot some primer in the hole and add a bit of seam sealer. And MOST of that lasted decades... I would say that car (at least the parts you did) will last many decades longer than Toyota ever imagined it would! I only wish my Suzuki Cappuccino had gotten your level attention and care when someone decided it was a bit rusty and parked it in 2010 or so. Now, it's like stepping into what sounds like leaves under the carpet! haha I should be getting back into things soon(once I finish the garage) and these videos give me an edge in some great tips and motivation: "it can be fixed, with time, effort and skill and careful planning!" To help my restoration I saved cuts from a crashed one from down near Killkenny with almost no rust to make templates and repair panels from. Cheers for the great videos and instruction!!
Fritz, I don't care if it's your chanel or halfass customs or Vice grip garage I tune in and every day I always Lear something from you and the others. Knowledge it's the key to success and self satisfaction. And of course you can always save a few bucks diy 'n it.. thank you.
Thank you from a fellow Canadian for continuing to post these videos! As a newbie welder I'm finding your instructions easy to follow. Very helpful as I work on my own project.
Thank you for being so generous with your time and experience. I just bought a project truck and need to do some work, straight forward approach. No smoke and mirrors, you show that you can tackle complicated fab with a step by step approach. You took away some of my trepidation! Maritime strong!
Hey Fitz, you said you didn't want to recreate the factory specs but your work is WAY better than some 'factory specs' restorations I've seen. I'm currently restoring a '73 914 and I've been kind of stuck for a few months on some sections which I need to replace. Your methods are helping me to get ahead a great deal. Thank you for sharing sir! Looking forward to your next videos. Regards from Puerto Rico.
Thanks for the video Fitzee! I’m always impressed with your work and the generous teaching of your methods I know explaining the work slows the progress but I appreciate your time and effort- thank you sir
This is exactly what I am looking for when I watch Power Nation or something like that, while they spend hours chatting and selling sheit. dude... YOU ARE THE MAN
The small inner repair pannel in the center that you made with the seam was a thing of beauty. The final fit on the outer cill /rocker was top notch Tony, a great watch as always.
Hi Yes it was a challenge for the rockers on my classic car as well. Now I gotta get all the bondo off and do it again . I couldn't afford repo panel. Challenge yes.......... Not any more thank you for showing how.
Out of all the people out there doing body work on cars you are the best I was watching on others Chanel and they did not even cool down the welds at all his but welds warped the panel and when he ground down the welds it looks like Mickey Mouse even his body filler was not pressed deeply into the edges of the welds just a problem waiting to happen ... Watching your work you are the best I've seen your welds are very good you reconstruct the car to original as possible.... I like to see that in a you tube channel... Keep up the good work!!!
YES SIR FITZEE, Ya Done Real Good here and ALL Your video's. Some VERY NICE WORK AGAIN. If these Young People WILL WATCH and LEARN this From YOU as their Teacher. They WILL GO PLACES in their Body Profession, I Quan Dog Tea Toll’n Tell’n You!!!
I watch them all Fitzee. Your number one in my book. I remember one of the first videos I watched of yours when you cut and welded a patch panel and dropped the rusty piece right out and then your butt welded it. LOL how Sweet it is 🏁👍😎
Your a pro that's why body men cant do this work that would plug it nice job like whatching you work for hrs I have a body shop for 25yrs I can't do that work you do I wish I had you working for me you blow body man's away keep the good work up paul
Just bought a 1967 jaguar s type. It's a bit of a cot case. One side rockers are missing and the b pillar is hanging in the breeze. This will be one hell of a useful video😁.
Always fun to watch another craftsman work his magic!..bit by bit by bit your making it work with minimal tools and equipment! There's a saying for that....."You gots to be smarter than it is!" It will be intresting to see how you do the Chassis for this.

I have no clue why I’ve been spending so much time watching these rust repair videos. I live in Florida and haven’t seen a rot like this in years. Great info though.
Inland FL isn’t bad. Coastal cars are sneaky. They rust inside out and top down. Salt spray is horrible.
@@MissionRestomod yeah fitz car might been a costal car the way it was wierd rust
Agree.. Coastal florida cars wont survive unless properly cared for.
