- Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to those who celebrate! Just a quick update on Christmas Eve of what’s going on in my battle against ovarian cancer and not forgetting to really appreciate the things that make you happy - particularly family.

Happy Holidays Maria! fab sox and fab baby gear omg! my granddaughter is 10. she was born the day after my ovarian cancer debulking surgery. my daughter had a c section so we were both in hospitals recovering at the same time (she in NM me in AZ). as soon as she was cleared for travel after 6 weeks, they brought the baby to see me. it was indescribably awesomeness to hold that little sweet thing. fast forward to now--- she is joined by two little brothers! ages 6 and 4. they all moved to Portugal in August so i am struggling to not be upset missing them. we are using wonderful technology to stay connected. it was tough seeing toys and Christmas goodies in stores and not sending a big care package but i am rolling with it. my daughter said be brave mom so here we are. speaking of bravery, i have a scan tues so am dealing with pain and scanxiety during this holiday but that's ok. not first time! my doctor suspects recurrence and for that the nerves are real, but hey i am here today! so to all of us--Be Brave 🎉🎄💐
Best of luck to you on your upcoming scan. Anxiey and worry always makes pain worse for me.

Hearing her talk about her grand baby is so sad and really hits home for me. My Dad only got to hold his grandson once before his glioblastoma took him.

Hi Maria! I feel your exhilaration over the new baby! What's more fun than buying baby clothes, so cute, you want to buy everything! I am glad that your family will come for Christmas. You are so right about enjoying every moment. As someone who had this myself, it gave me a new appreciation for things I took for granted. You look so adorable in the hat! Merry Christmas Maria! I think the socks are great! I am so thrilled that your first grandchild is coming in March. She’s a lucky baby to have you as a grandmother. Enjoy the shower and buying things they say they don’t need. When that baby comes, you spoil her-it’s your right as a grandmother! As a retired (after 44 years) critical care nurse, I feel you’d appreciate knowing the correct pronunciation of the medical terms associated with your treatment. The words paracentesis and thoracentesis don’t have an N after the “para” and “thora” parts of the words. Please understand that this is not a criticism-I know this is so minor in the grand scheme of all that you’re going through, and we use some pretty big and unfamiliar terminology in medicine, but somehow I feel you’d want to know the correct way to say the words. You’re in my heart and in my prayers, and my respect for you is huge. You are so strong and your approach to this totally unexpected 180 turn in your life’s path is so intelligent and tolerant. God bless you and your family this Christmas, and the New Year will bring happiness and healing.

Mine are all located on opposite coast from me, so I haven't yet been able to see the newest addition, my son and daughter in law's firstborn, both of them in their 4O's! Merry Christmas! Sunday night is the last day of our holiday Hanukkah. It's a different kind of holiday for me. I had a recent diagnosis of cancer in September. It's an unusual small B cell non Hodgkins lymphoma marginal. Haven't come across anyone else with same diagnosis. Had radiation tx 3 weeks ago. Cancer is certainly scary, but not letting it consume me. I have 4 little grandsons. I remember my 1st. It's exciting! Enjoy every moment. Praying 2023 brings you blessings. Your a tough lady. Just a quick mention - when meeting with your Dr., please ask the benefit of IV Vit C in large doses. My sister had ovarian stage 4 and it worked wonders for her. Google it to get more informed about the benefits as it might be a huge help for you as well. God bless and please have a really fun and memorable Holiday!!

Hope you had a wonderful Holliday. HAPPY NEW YEAR. OH I am Shirley, I was in the emergency the day before new years had breathing problems, they did CT scan ultrasound on my legs at 1:30 in the morning because they kept me. Got to come home the next day about the same time I was admitted. Breathing so much better. My COPD acted up from the weather, they put me on a new inhaler I take once a day, it's working.

I will say this I work at a hospital and there’s so many advanced ovarian cancer studies theres precision gen-1 so many so you have to find the right fit because they definitely work.
