- Clinical trials, covid & flu shots, chemotherapy and another blood transfusion, oh my! Waiting for options is so difficult and anxiety provoking. At times, it's hard to control my emotions and I will suddenly start crying out of the blue.
I did get an update on clinical trials too.

Maria...I have walked your walk. It is REALLY hard. I am a "Planner" and a "Doer".....and I am used to "driving my own bus." When cancer arrives, someone else takes that steering wheel from you and control goes out the window. You try to trust what so many people are telling you, and some decisions are not made by you. Three years ago my oncologist wanted to put me on Kisqali. It had been approved by the FDA for breast cancer patients but was still in trials for ovarian cancer. She reached out to the drug company and asked if I could take the drug "off label and off the trial." They surprisingly said yes and actually sent the drugs to me at no cost whatsoever. Perhaps you could ask your doctor to go to bat for you. You are doing great, girlie! Keep the faith...you CAN do this! I will be passing my 10-year mark from diagnosis. I certainly did not believe at the time I could still be alive in 10 years! Merry Christmas, sweet girl! Hugs from Alaska.....Mary

As a fellow cancer survivor (stage IV NHL) I so totally agree with you. Being a person who doesn't like to lose control over myself/taking away that self control & planning my weeks it was one of the worst aspects of treatment. There was never a guarantee chemo or radiation would give me drastic side effects, which really messes with one's head. As my story concluded with a stemcell transplant, I was reverse isolated for near 3 month and that took away ALL planning as my cell count would determine WHEN isolation would be lifted.
I am very happy you too survived and that you too hopefully are back to a normal life!

I had not watched this again since she passed. She would have done anything to live, to be with her family and it is just so incredibly heart breaking and unfair.
The positive that I take from this, is she is now an angel and in the presence of our heavenly father. RIP sweet Maria. You are really missed. #yourvirtualfamily

That's true. But isn't one of the problems also the two-party system of the USA and the voting system in general? I mean all the politicians who have influence on the healthcare system were voted for and put into power by people.
Poor girl. Now on top of everything else you have a fever. That makes you feel so terrible. An angel nudged your neighbor and told them that you needed strawberries! May God and the angels comfort and bless you, sweet lady. I love Christmas too!

Maria , I got so moved by your reaction for the neighbours gift. I could relate alot and remembered when i was admitted in the hospital for my fight with leukemia. All of a sudden a nurse knocked om my door and brought me a big box with gifts. It was from a lokal dog club who heard about my situation and sent a care"box". I cried like a baby and was so so touched. I will nerer forget that.

I don't know you personally Maria although I already feel as if I do just by keeping up with your journey. I walked this walk with my Mother 20 years ago and I must say you are very brave, strong, and courageous! It is extremely frustrating waiting for answers, appointments, and the not knowing sucks! I wish I could give you a hug and make it all better. Know your loved and prayed for from Sugarland Texas and you absolutely have the right to any feelings and emotions you're experiencing. I am doing chemotherapy now but waiting for a match with a clinical trial. My oncologist has entered me in a couple but I didn't not have the biomarker required for those trials involving car-t therapy. So now there
is a new trial with Til therapy that we are applying for.
I can empathize with you. All of the uncertainties are so hard to deal with.

Maria thanks for this video. I am impressed with how good you look and how clear your mind is. If this is you with cancer, you must be one hell of a lawyer. I am hopeful that since you have had some positive changes since your treatments have begun, your doctors are on the right track. Sweet Maria, you know by now my mantra is to keep on top of your pain always…morphine and oxycodone were manufactured for pain, you will not always have to be on these meds and one day you just might have to keep reminding another person of the value of good pain control. Chronic pain does not make a good quality of life, fear sets in, doubts emerge etc. enjoy the next two weeks with your family. Soak in the love surrounding you. A New Year dawns, I say again I believe in miracles. Happy Christmas Morning! ☃️
Maria, I’ve been binge watching your channel since I found it yesterday. F cancer and all that comes with it. I wish I had a magic potion for you. I really do. One of my good friends is battling end stage pancreatic cancer now. You remind me of her with your grace, positivity and the willingness to tell your story so we can be educated on your journey. I believe in the power of prayer and sending positive light into the universe. God is light. I’m praying for you sweet Maria.
There are so many of us that have autoimmune issues that there has to be some trials for us. Keep us posted. I just like knowing how you're doing.

I pray they make the exception for your lupus, and let you into a trial. I never imagined there would be exclusions for trials, based on auto immune disease. So many people have them. Try to enjoy your family time over the holidays. ❤
Maria I know all about the waiting game. Constantly saying 2 week appt then change to a month as the cancer took its toll. Because of Covid everything was backed up. Offices were packed at appts, so we waited even getting there earlier because we didnt want to be late. Holidays are the worst!! It is a waiting game for us because the cancer doesnt WAIT!! I pray you get your new trial!!

Maria, I totally understand the cancer/autoimmune disease hoops. I have been going through breast cancer and scleroderma. At times I feel like I am discounted from doctors due to having both. I’m praying that a miraculous decision is made in your clinical trial favor. We need God to move a mountain here. 🙏🏼💕
Sorry to hear what you're dealing with, but I have to ask, did the scleroderma make your cancer harder to detect?
@@LifeOfJimbo I’ll be honest, the radiologists that were reading my 3D mammograms for the last six years, discounted that I have Scleroderma. It was my GP that finally pushed for my series of tests. I didn’t realize that there were “bands” of precancerous (DCIS) showing in my mammograms that the radiologists were ignoring . So no, they didn’t even consider my AI. I don’t think they were familiar with it. Now that I have been diagnosed with both, the oncologists and the rheumatologists are hesitant to touch me. My cancer was showing up, but the radiologists didn’t call it..until there was no other choice. I have HER2+, Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. One component of my testing that I think messed with my surgeon’s head was that he went in to get lymph nodes, and submitted four “lymph node tissue samples”. The only problem is according to my pathology report, there were “no lymph node tissue” samples submitted. How does that happen? Did my scleroderma cause my connective tissue to look like lymph nodes? Therefore, I was not able to be staged.
It just shows what lovely people there is like your neighbour and just what you craved too, choc strawberries. Your always in my prayers. I hope you have a lovely Christmas.

Thank you for pouring out your heart. My mother passed from ovarian cancer in 2010 after fighting four and a half years.
She went through five rounds of different chemo, had two major surgeries and radiation.
Although I was living with my parents and went to a few major appointments with her doctor, I was not really told much information about the chemo treatment process. So I’m grateful to you for sharing so much.
A psychologist I was seeing a few years back told me that the higher your intelligence is, the more difficult it is for your mind to make sense of what you go through in a mentally challenging situation. I can see that in you.

Dear Maria, first off, I wish to you and your loved Ones the most enjoyable, peaceful holidays. Enjoy your loved ones and allow yourself to be spoiled. You are a trooper, you are in my prayers and you too will kick the big C's behind!!
As a P. A (medical professional) and a cancer survivor (stage IV NHL), I had a lot of trouble with various pain episodes and initially had the same meds to combat the pain which you use. My oncologist however decided back then to involve a pain specialist (anaesthesist with a specialty education in long term pain management for cancer patients)! That proved to be a blessing for me. She decided to put me on a pain patch called Durogesic SMAT which sticks to your skin like a bandaid for 3 days, then you switch it to a new one and it comes in different strength. The painmeds released through your skin are steady and continuous and additionally I could take oral pain meds as needed. It helped me a lot as my pains didn't get to those hard to manage levels anymore and it greatly reduced the need for additional oral pain meds as I had a lot of nausea and often didn't tolerate any oral meds very well!
Maybe it could help you too, you might possibly discuss with your trusted doctors.

Dear Maria, I just found you today on CZcams. I can totally sympathize with all you are going through as I am currently fighting uterine/omentum/lymph cancer. I just finished my 6 rounds (every 21 days) of chemo since October 13/22. I will be getting a CT Scan & MRI then surgery February 28/23🤞🏻🙏. I truly hope a plan of action happens quickly & you get accepted to a clinical trial. You have to have hope ‘cause that’s what’s going to pull you through. You are in my 🙏 & ❤️. It’s been a while so hope you are doing okay. My fate changed on February 13th when I fell ill with a Saddle Pulmonary Embolism, out of the blue. I was in hospital for 2 weeks (ER-2days, ICU-5 days, the rest on the Cancer/Inpatient floor). It was a very very difficult time. I am now set up for more CT/MRI Scans on the 15th of May to see about the cancer in my uterus etc.. I have a consult w/oncologist May 25th. If all is well I now have surgery for June 8th (it’s fluid, as she says 🤞🏻🙏). Hopefully you are on track with all you’re going through, keep me posted. Sending you my 🙏&❤️&🤗.

CAR-T is the promising new technology that deserves the risks of a clinical trial.
It sounds like you have a great family and wonderful neighbors. I hope your Christmas is wonderful. Let the family handle it for you! You need to sit back and enjoy every minute of it. I have been through Ovarian Cancer treatments on two different occasions and it is hard asking for help or letting people handle things for you. However, it will make them feel good to help you!! I pray that you get accepted into a clinical trial. I also will be praying for complete healing!
You are absolutely right it is so hard to ask for help. Hopefully you are in remission after your two battles with this beast.
@@MyCancerJourneyMaria, yes, I am in remission. I currently take Rubraca twice per day. It has some bad side effects, but nothing like what we have already been through. I have to be tested every month with blood work. I have to see my Oncologist every 2 months and I still have a CT scan every 4 months to make sure my cancer has not returned. Praying for you!!

Thank you so much, Robin. Yes, I am being treated at Dana-Farber in Boston and live in the area. We are so lucky to have such great medical care, so I’m sure you can understand how disappointing it was for me to know that at this time, I couldn’t enroll in a clinical trial.
My Aunt saw a doctor. He said oh its nothing when all the signs were there. 6 months later it had progressed. She wanted to sue but wasnt worth lawyers and going through chemos at same time

Hi Maria. I've taken somewhat of a different approach. No chocolate covered strawberries for me, as good as they look. I switched over to a super low carb diet, practically no sugar in addition to Intermittent Fasting, 18 hours fast - 6 hours feeding time.
A few longer fasts early in the new year to really get things going. You may want to investigate this option, either with chemo or without. There's lots of reasons to believe this combination might have some merit. Research the effects of glucose and cancer, glycolosis and how cancer uses sugar. Warburg effect.
