    Kingsley North is a lapidary store in Michigan's U.P. They make a great cab machine and sell many other brands too. They have a huge selection rough rock, tumblers, grit, jewelry supplies etc. at good prices. I buy most of my coarse grit from here in 45 lb. bags. It's the best price I have found. rob. kate and theo..... the trick going on surfaces like this is digging foot holes where one can get a grip with one's foot. it takes longer getting where ya want to go... but it works

      I was in a small private campground that wasn't nearly as pretty, but it rained most of the time that I was there, so it didn't really matter. I stayed in Forsyth, which is where Kate recommended to be in a good location to go to the various spots she took me. This spot was like a three hour drive from where I was staying though. Everything else was much closer to Forsyth.

    suggestion: take a brush to the softer material that doesn't dissolve . that way you have a better result with your rocks

    This is quite the trip you've been taking lately. There is a reason they call it "Big Sky Country" in Montana. I've been to Bear Canyon as well. I must have had beginners luck as I got some really nice fortification. Good enough to cut some cabochons as well as specimens. I've been enjoying this current series of travels. Do you eventually make it to Oregon? We have lots of places to dig out west.

    It took me a bit to realize you said got busy and not you got dizzy and had to let it sit and I was like he can't just drop that and move past, haha. Also what a sweet puppo that was. I love adventure dogs, I've been working on trying to get mine to be one, it's her first summer. If you cut some of the black ones into chunks would they tumble?

    • @MichiganRocks
      @MichiganRocks  Před rokem

      I've been thinking about whether I can tumble these. The small ones were all very full of holes and I don't think I'd be able to do much with them. I might try cutting some of the slabs up and throwing them into the tumbler. There was a really thick slab in the middle of that one because I cut both ends off an that part was in the vice. That would be the one to try to tumble, I think.

  • @rockrockprettyrock6594

    Michigan Rocks. No, Minnesota Rocks. No, again. Montana Rocks. What’s next? Maine? Massachusetts? Maryland? Missouri? Mississippi? I think you should try for all of the M states! (You might have a hard time finding such good rockhunting buddies, though!) Fun video!
