  • Amazing Mid Wales Lead Mine with plenty to see, ladderways, shafts and artifacts, especially the old cart lift. Nice abseil down a winze out into the gigantic stopes.

Christopher, I forgot to mention this is one of my favorite mines. I admire the respect and dedication you have for these sacred spaces.

Thanks Joseph, yes, I've got the upmost respect for the old miners and what artifacts are left behind in the mines. They're a time capsule and need to be preserved for future generations to amaze at the work, hardship and our mining history 😊

Yes, pity Milda lives at other end of country and can only make it up once a month. The best idea is for her to move up here to Wales, which I'm sure she's considered 🤔😊

A bit of recent history. The top ladder , although secure, is at an odd angle. This is because it was coming away and I secured it some years ago by fitting the heavy stemple you passed halfway up the top section. However, try as I might, I could not get that top ladder aligned properly withe one below. This explains its current position.
Very nice video and the stills are impressive.

      Thanks Roy 👍
The bottom ladder held on with chain? Didn't notice anything odd about any ladder, they all seemed perfectly safe and secure. 👌
It's the imalent dx80, it's amazing for lighting photos. But I'm going to have to invest in one of your bat cookers in new year. I bought Fenix hp30r 7 months ago and the 2 flood bulbs have stopped working all ready. Not sure if it was the shower climbing up Bwlch Glas done something because next day they stopped working (switched on, but couldn't change brightness, then just died totally). Should be waterproof though, unless water got in switch, but spot is OK (different switch) if I could have my imalents 1500 lumen setting on a headtorch I'd be very happy indeed 🤔😂

As for the anchor points, will always use a metal peg which has been installed by the old miners as a back up, supporting heavy chains, they won't go anywhere 👌

Chris you definitely need a wind shield for your microphone. Sometimes its difficult to here what you are saying because of the wind noise. Maybe a kind sponsor out there might have one you can try.

They're always like that in metal mines, have nice ladderways in shafts or winzes. Most my metal mine videos have got a ladderway in them

@@shonkytours2039 oh yeah I know you get lots of laddered man ways. I was meaning the ladders were so well made and finished with smooth chamfered edges and landings the same. They're usually a bit more kind of, well cobbled together lol!

Great vid again but Chris, can you slow down a bit and not turn your head so quickly. It makes me feel sick and I have to slow down the playback to cope. Just a thought.

When I don't use my phone stabiliser I don't realise how quickly I turn and how it effects video. I get carried away with excitement like a big kid when I visit a new mine. I'll try to remember to chill out a bit with the footage 😊
