- Decided to take the long walk up the miners track to near the top of Snowdon to visit Britannia Copper mine high up on the slopes. I was disgusted to find what I did inside first adit so it put me off exploring the rest of the adits until I go back weekend

Hi Chris don’t be to down, we still appreciate your efforts. I haven’t been near Snowdon for years for exactly the reason that some people have no respect of the beautiful location they are privileged to be able to visit.

It's appaling some people don't know how to behave. If everyone left nothing but footprints and took nothing but photos the countryside would be a much more pleasant place. The crosscut is I believe the only level with no workings. But it was still great to see it. I hope you have more fun next time. God bless
There's 6 more levels, 3 gated, but I lost interest after being in 1st. It stunk of 💩, and condoms everywhere. I might go back and get in the gated ones at least they'll be untouched. I hadn't realised how busy the miners track was 😖
@@shonkytours2039 I've climbed around on the surface and there are some fascinating things to see, but never been underground so please go back and explore the gated levels. If your interested try to get hold of the "Bulletin of the peak district mines historical society" volume 9 No5, it is on the Britannia mine. Lots of good info. God bless
Not been up there since my late teens (Im 58 now!). If I remember rightly there were a couple of inclines that had stone sleeper sets (square blocks with holes in) about 1 to 2 feet apart going up the incline instead of wooden ones.

It's all gone now, I only realised it was incline near the top. The ore processing was 20 minute walk lower down than the mine itself

Yes, stunning location, I'll probably go back next weekend a bit earlier, I was too late in the day and my enthusiasm had gone, especially after the stink in the first adit 😖
You can get into 2 adits around the corner from there, up the hill. The gates have fallen away. Be prepared for wet feet, knee high at the entrances.
Yes I knew about 3 ungated adits further up which were flooded, I had way to open the gated ones too😉, but I just lost interest after the adit full of shit and condoms, plus it was getting late, I might go back next weekend earlier in the day, 😊

Hi Chris, any idea what the history is on that cave you can see in front of you at 1:04, it looks really interesting. Omg there is just no excuse whatsoever for
leaving your used condom's in a historic location, what kind of girl would want to have sex in a wet, dark place like a mine drift in the first place.

I don't think it was a cave sue, it was a big boulder and because sun was behind, it made it look like a cave
