That happened where I live, a lake community. Air bnb owners lived as a matter of fact in CA. Their "guests" damaged others property, committed felonies, disregarded local laws. Now liens are on the properties due to numerous lawsuits and complaints, no rentals, no selling. Moral to the story, dont live too far away from property you rent out because your "guests" dont care nor does whoever you hire to "manage" the property.

Drug use, destruction of property, disregard of local laws is criminal activity, renters are required to sign agreements concerning rules and local laws, and the host is responsible for that. Failure on both parts can result in fines, jail, even prison. CA laws are not the same as AL laws, as this Air bnb owner has learned the hard painful way, liens on property. Criminals in AL go to jails, prisons, wear orange scrubs and work community service projects on chain gangs 6 days a week, not rewarded with freedoms. Better and safer for them than the recipient of their crimes handle it their way.

Eviction is a double edged sword. They made it hard to evict to prevent landlords from doing shady shady shit to a tendant. But people use it to their advantage. Imagine paying 3 months rent in advance and they kick you out for any reason they choose and then take your deposit.

It''s under the auspice of the City of Los Angeles. Bel Air residents may be wealthy, but not wealthy enough to be annexed by Beverly Hills.
