My cousin used to move into peoples’ houses with her husband and their kids, then refuse to leave. She’d say oh just a couple more weeks, then stay until they would have to get the police involved. The last time they did this, the elderly woman’s husband died, and the family needed to sell the property to take care of expenses and move their mom in with them. The only way to get them out was to sell the property for cheap and have the new homeowners call the police to get them out. They trashed the place and stole their appliances. She is absolute garbage and an embarrassment to our family.

@@DAllenMartinphotos Holy crap that's so silly wrong that it's hilarious. Absolutely nothing stops you from saving money and buying from a landowner directly and not even have a bank or credit involved. Embarrassing that you have fooled yourself into thinking you understand how things work when you're that far off. Banks are who you owe the money to because you took out a loan for the amount YOU decided to pay, the bank you owe generally had nothing to do with the price you settled on with the landowner.

    • @DAllenMartinphotos

@@ModelLights You've clearly never had to have your house appraised. I never said you couldn't buy a house from someone that way, but how many people ACTUALLY SELL OR BUY their homes that way?? Ya, I'll just save up $200K, like no problem, right?? The VAST majority of homes sold in the US involved all of the above, starting with an appraiser who determines the value of the house, because without an appraisal most banks won't loan the buyer the money since the house becomes the collateral and the bank wants to know it is worth as much as they are loaning out or more.

I saw a CZcams video on how this was handled, without going to court. The owner of the house provided a written lease to a large friend. The friend "moved" into the house in the late morning while the squatters were away. When the squatters arrived, he told them that he was living there. He ate their food, played loud music throughout the night and was basically a pita. The squatters called the police, but the friend showed the police a copy of the lease the homeowner provided to him and the police left. So basically, the friend squatted on the squatters until they left.
I may have changed the story a bit, but that was the gist of it.

The following works for regular landlord/tenant eviction disputes AND squatters. 1: Remove the doors and windows from the property so you can, lol, "weather proof" them. 2: Load them up so you can "go to your shop and perform the necessary modifications." 3: Don't bring them back (due to equipment failure at your shop, if anybody asks). Depending on the season and the local bug population, they'll get out pretty quick. They can't file any complaints because they have ZERO legal standing for being on the property in the first place. As the property owner, you always have the right to do property upgrades, but "tenants under eviction orders" or "squatters" are NOT allowed to do any modifications, so any form of complaint will just be ignored. A friend of mine uses this method to evict nuisance tenants instead of the courts. It's a lot faster and as a bonus, the people on the property are so happy that they'll soon have new weather proofing (lol) that you'll usually get no beef while you are extracting the doors and windows from their frames. LMFAO!!!

I had renters try to do this to me once.....I entered with a gas mask & threw 4 bug bombs........as they ran choking.....I changed the locks with my mask on. Then I immediately installed 2 family members who had a ready made lease signed & in hand. When the police showed up.....it was much easier. For some reason the police are not allowed to actually kick renters out.....but since I already had the scammers physically out & had others in there, the police couldn't kick out my family actors. They had a signed lease. They showed the signed lease & hand written receipt for rent, then closed the door & said they weren't leaving & were done talking about it. When the police called me I ignored the calls. Eventually the police finally got around to asking the scammers for soe proof THEY had paid rent, which of course they couldn't produce. So the police told the wanna be squatters that if they thought they had a legal right to the place....(which of course they didn't as they never paid any money) they should take me to court. It's a shame all this was necessary but you just have to use your brains & get them out.

If they could cover the first and last month's rent they could get the rental. He knew many times they were going to run out and leave the home with damages that far exceeded what they had paid. Prostitution is allowed, smoking weed was tolerated since the 70s but now its getting more and more strict. In coffeeshops, which is a place to buy and smoke marihuana, is now forbidden to smoke inside if you roll your joint with tobacco. This has to do with the new tobacco laws. Imagine explaining this to tourists. Its okay to smoke marihuana but its illegal to put tobacco mixed in with your herbs. Another example BBQ in the park is illegal now in most big parks because some people are assholes that dont clean up after themselves so they banned BBQ for EVERYBODY. This might be simple/dumb examples but its to have an idea.

Okay, but if the landlords are actually running the information and doing the backgrounds on these people like they're supposed to, they'd never even get to move in. You'd know that they're not the same people. To me, it sounds like these folks managed to convince the landlords to not run anything on them before they moved in. If they're not even going to do that little bit of their jobs to ensure their assets are protected, why should anybody care that they're letting crooks in?
I mean, isn't that the point of wanting a landlord, to have somebody around whose job it is to ensure that your neighbors aren't bad people and your home is safe? You know, besides the expenses side of it, you generally rent because you're delegating that responsibility to somebody else for a fee.
These guys are either very good at stealing information, or they're pointing out a large number of landlords who aren't even doing the minimum they need to be doing to be landlords.

      @SLOBeachboy Před 5 lety +14

Jewel 123 - - Unfortunately that would not really do much good because these people are smart enough to not rent from professional property management companies. They are renting from individuals who own these properties and want to rent them out. After all, a property management company is going follow a specific set of procedures in every single case no matter what, while an individual owner can easily be conned into letting things slide. Personally I would NEVER let a potential tenant move in until the first check cleared, no matter how perfect a tenant he seemed to be but many people don't strictly follow this rule.
Of course this particular con artist couple has more than enough money to write a good check for the deposit and first month rent and still come out way ahead since it would take so long to evict them once the next months rent check bounced. They would never do this in a million years however because their scam is about much more than just money. Basically these types actually get off on pulling one over on these homeowners and ruining their lives. In fact, they get immense satisfaction from knowing that the homeowner never got a sent from them and so its important that they don’t have to pay anything at all to get the scam started. They basically feel they are smarter than everyone else and they need to constantly prove this to themselves by conning people.
Unfortunately I don’t really have time right now to get into the whole psychological profile of these types but just be aware that the motivation is not simply money. I know for most of us it hard to imagine a person who is not only incapable of feeling empathy but who actually derives joy from conning people and causing them severe financial strife but these types are out there nonetheless.

If you are going to buy the house, you must first go through a mortgage broker or a bank to get approved, they will obtain their FICO credit score, then if you are renting before you move in, you must fill out a rental application, the realtor can go to the courthouse to see if the rental applicant has been evicted from another property. That works best for squatters who have never been registered in any way to live in that home, but since she actually rented it to them she can't do that without arousing too much suspicion, and their recognized as squatters so even if you tuned them up they can still come back legally even if their staying there illegally, that only works when someone just enters the home and lives there without any form of agreement or acknowledgment, but I do agree that is by far the best choice, knock them unconscious and drop them off far away, and then change all locks so they can't enter.

My own LOSER of a brother-in-law did this VERY same thing to a person up in Saginaw. Found out his wife had not been paying rent for over 3 years and he (according to his claims) had no clue they were behind that far on rent. His wife just kept playing and playing the landlord and when the evictions came, she'd hide them from her husband who would work overseas a lot for Lockheed. A couple of years ago they finally moved to a new place they "bought" just RIGHT DOWN THE F'ING ROAD! I don't know if she is screwing the mortgage company over, but I do know that she wears DIAMONDS the size of my knuckle right now, with the "story" that they "inherited" it from her grandmother. He screwed my wife, his sister, over for THOUSANDS owed to T-Mobile bc he talked her into co-signing for her and then never paid the bill, but had a friend that worked for them, so she kept turning the line back on, for over TWO YEARS. Yeah, THEY'RE REAL PIECES of work.

So I guess I'd have to make sure I drive 11 hours once a month, just to make sure no one's taken up residence in my place!

People like them would probably sue to prevent their names from being put on that list. It's too bad that all the homeowners can't get together and file a class action suit against them. All those homeowners at once would have a huge impact. I don't think any judge would go lightly on them if 13-14 swindled homeowners showed up in court demanding back rent. Also, I think that would qualify as a criminal case, which would give them a felony criminal record. That's something that would show up when homeowners go to check their rental background.

Being honest Really? If those children are actually their children, then they are most certainly being hurt - psychologically, with moving every 4 to 6 months ( are they even in the same school?) and if they are living with those parents they are being raised to think fraud is acceptable behaviour. CPS should be all over this, and a Judge should order that their kids be removed until they establish themselves and pay 3 months in advance. Also - this situation has absolutely NOTHING to do with " handing out money" - these two are grifters, fraudsters, con artists. They know the laws and how to work around them. They are criminals ( not to mention Sociopaths) and are entirely separate from someone on assistance who actually needs it. The problem is the Laws pertaining to this behaviour. Surely a creative Judge could find a way to hold them in contempt or garnishee their wages.
