This is a consequence of what's known as "external locus of control". It places the responsibility for one's feelings on external factors such as other people and events. According to this frame of mind, dissenting opinions and expressions that one finds disagreeable have the power to directly cause discomfort or even physical harm in oneself-regardless of one's own manner of dealing with them-like a bullet striking a target.

No one deserves to get harassed, but it is not unique to women. Online games are toxic as fuck, especially in the old days. You need to grow a spine and not take it to the heart. People just get agitated especially in competitive games. Let them vent and continue and if they drag it too far, just mute.
Some of the things she said though is on a whole other level of fucked up compared to some online stranger making the same shitty remarks.
I have played COD, LOL, CSGO, RL, VAL, OW, and plenty more comp games. Shitty treatment is not tied to your gender or whatsoever, but to your performance and literally anything someone can pick on.

As someone from the Military, I can confirm that being tested in high-stress or inconvenient situations is all about finding out who is the stable one and who isn't. It has nothing to do with "Finding an Alpha", trust me, it becomes pretty obvious who they are by doing daily tasks (it's a way of 'being' more than a moment-to-moment thing). Instead, you want to figure out who is going to lose control of themselves and make the situation more dangerous... Life isn't easy, it's best not to try and include people who make it harder.

Absolutely agreed. Society wants everyone to include everyone, but it seems to me this is simply an act to get us even more divided. Forcing all inclusive normalcy isn't healthy for any social groups in general. People need to find their own people, with mutual respect for everyone, and not seek to force random strangers to be "their people" instead. None of us are created equal. I can't play Valorant with men because they tend to hyperfixate on a woman being on comms and will half throw the game just trying to flirt with her, and they do so with 0 charisma... I was in a Rocket League game once, and a guy saw the Canadian flag on my car. He did not stop shitting on the me, and Canada, for 5 minutes.
I have never laughed so hard in a multiplayer lobby in my life. Plus he was typing so hard I won the match, which also felt good.

That's the mentality for online competitive gaming definitely. If you're not ready for the salt, you're probably not ready for the games.

For the part I agree with you, except women aren't treated any worse than men are in game lobbies, men get trashed just as bad. Feminists want equality until they actually get it.
