Looks like this recipe can satisfy the crispy bacon lovers AND the soggy bacon lovers. If you want soggy, Soak the rice paper in the marinade. If you want crisp, wet the paper with water and THEN dip. Awesome!
YES!! So true!! That marinade is so key. Its really wildly good!
@@SauceStache Makes me wonder if you can combine the two and end up with a piece of bacon that has soggy and crisp. Maybe wet a basting brush with water and paint a randomly shaped line down the paper, then put it into the marinade to soak a bit.

Love Candace, and so cool that you are doing her updated rice paper recipe. I’m door but rice paper for me is my favorite vegan bacon . The flavor,! It’s crispy, and the flavor! Yummmm,
When I made rice paper bacon, I used the bacon seasoning IN the marinade and it turned out really well! JD's also makes bacon salt for those who can't afford the deliciou version (not all are vegan but many are!)

I find it easier to wet the whole rice paper, stick them together, dip in marinade and then cut them into slices

I did your daikon radish version and was wow'd. Then I saw this one on Candice's site but didn't have rice paper, so now I'm even MORE stoked to go try it. So much easier, I think, and although the daikon was the bomb, my hands got a bit burned from it. Thanks both of you... to be continued. .. lol.

I just watched her collab video.
how about 3 strips, laminated with the marinade...the outer 2 can then crisp up while bonding to the inner layer...but then shallow/deep fry it.
I notice that's what they were doing to get it to puff up in the build up to your experiment.
Maybe the marinade would act to stop it puffing up as much.
Rice paper bacon is so greasy, sweet, salty and wonderful!

Hi I’ve been a fan of this Chanel for a while now and I think your videos are very entertaining. I am not vegan or vegetarian but I have always wondered what is the reasoning for wanting to find substitutes for all this food when you could just eat the real food. I have never really know any vegans so I can’t ask them. I would love to here some of what you guys have to say as I think a new perspective on food could be cool.

But I have a weird proposal, basically there was a channel calle the Easy vegan that hasn't posted in a lot of time, I was thinking that maybe thanks to a Collab you could bring up his channel giving him the will to get back in CZcams. Btw I'm not saying you have to Collab with him or that you should, you know best, I just saw the easy vegan as a really good channel which never got a chance and if with your great and relatively successful channel did a Collab with him it would surely bring back the channel from a year of silence.

Can you freeze these after you cook them and then warm them up in the microwave by chance? I wouldn’t want to go through the process of making the bacon every time I feel like making a BLT, for example.

Why not take the softer one and toss it in a frying pan with a little oil to see if you can crisp it up?

@@SauceStache I'd be willing to bet it would get a sightly smokey flavor from the charring of a hot frying pan.
I'm thinking about trying it that way, and freezing them right out of the oven, this way I can make a batch for my wife to have with BLTs. Just take a few out and fry them up.
