  • Remove, recover, and replace headliner in a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Quad cab. If your are looking at doing this repair, hopefully this video will help you out. This procedure would mostly likely be the same for a 1998 - 2001 Dodge Ram quad cab, 1500 or 2500.
    Here is another video with more detail of the fabric application process: • Headliner Repair - Don...
    I bought my supplies off amazon, since we live out in the sticks. Here is a link to the fabric and glue I purchased for this project:

    Was the perfect opportunity to use black or dark brown fabric for the headliner to match interior!

    I should mention... I am not doing this for money or sponsors, or subscriptions. I am just a guy who decided to tackle this myself, because its allot cheaper than having someone else doing it. With that in mind I had a hard time find a complete source of truth for some of the tricky aspects of doing this, so I created my own video, in hopes it will help someone else out there! If this helps you, let me know.

      What glue/adhesive did you use, and how did you go about making good adhesion while it set up? Also where did you choose to source your fabric?

    In my experience if you press the padding too hard while the glue is still wet it will leave lumps. Nice even pressure. Gentle. Let the glue dry before flipping over and installing.

      Thanks so much for the comment! It was one of those things where I could not find this information when I did mine, so I decided to make this video in case it helped someone else.

      It was a 120" x 60". With that much, I had plenty left over. I am also pleased to report the headliner is still looking good. Hope this answers your question.

      Measure, but I'd say 2 yards is plenty. A yard and half might be enough (not every store will sell cloth by half yard, though?)

      The fabric was some generic headliner fabric I bought on amazon, you can find it here: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00X2TLA82/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The glue is 3M 38808 Headliner and Fabric Adhesive, also bought off amazone, here: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004MEBENM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1 My biggest piece of advice on that is buy two cans. I only bought and it barely was enough. In hindsight, I wish I had two so I could be more liberal with the application.

    • @etwalgade
      @etwalgade  Před 5 lety

      In my case I have a quad cab. I had to open both doors, and then fold the front seats as flat as the would go. Once its loose, drop it down, then angel the back up toward the rear window as high as it can go and drop the front of the headliner toward the floor of the front seat. From there I kind of jimmied it back and forth until I was able to slide it out.

    • @deasttn
      @deasttn Před 3 lety

      Tetris.
      Yes, getting it out of the vehicle can be challenging. Some vehicles require you to lower the seats or twist the headliner.
      Remove the seat if it's too hard
