  • After her LINX surgery in 2018, Sheila tells us about her LINX procedure and how the results have positively affected her life since.
    Since the operation, Sheila has enjoyed her first winter in 5 years without severe respiratory issues.
    "As far as I'm concerned, the LINX system has been a marvellous thing...and I'm very, very happy with it." she says. Success with patients like Sheila is what spurs us on to help as much reflux sufferers as possible.

    Just at the links device fitted and haven’t coughed since I came out of surgery. It is quite remarkable

    You could be telling my story. I feel like a yo-yo. I’ve had 2 endoscopies and manometry which prove gerd but still after several years of ppi I’m getting gradually worse. Asthma is getting worse, I have a chronic cough and the respiratory consultant agrees after several tests that it’s the reflux that’s exacerbating the asthma. I’m waiting for another referral back to the gi doc. I’m hoping now that surgery will be available as an option.

      Me too. Only been on ppi since beginning of 2021 but they don’t work for me. Did you get surgery ?

    For me, my LINX stopped the regurgitation but did absolutely NOTHING for my LPR. Still throat clearing, still breathing issues, still the same old bland diet and no answers to my questions from the medical community. And I would add that 8 months post-linx is way too soon to hail it a success story. Im 5 years in and there were many stages in that time.

    • @Refluxuk
      @Refluxuk  Před 2 lety +3

      Yes J and J are undertaking some extensive studies in to the long term results. There are some other research project looking at results which look very promising.

    I also have a herniated stomach and acid reflux. I have this constant crop feeling in my throat and it irritates my lungs. It's ruining my life quite a bit. I'm always worried that the cropfeeling and lung irritation will become something worse. I live in Belgium but they don't do it here...

    • @Refluxuk

      Unfortunately I don't know of any who does this surgery in Belgium, but we often treat people from overseas. I enclose our website address if you require any additional information. refluxuk.com/
