Oh no, I accidentally jinxed Bremen
Hi
đ
Good. Come on Schalke
U did
If they donât get promoted, I will blame you for everything
The 2. Bundesliga actually had more people watching than the 1. on some match days. It's a really interesting league to follow.
Theyâve got some huge clubs in the league now tho so that must make a difference
Is, by a longshot, the most interesting league in Germany
- Big, legendary teams hungry to make a comeback
- Close point races
- Amazing players
Is not like the predictable slog that is the Bundesliga
Where does that Info come from? Seems hard to believe
3. Liga is actually giving a free livestream on youtube on German Football channel.
Well, Bundesliga 2 is more competitive compared to Bundesliga 1 which Bayern always wins it all the time.
Finally someone talks about this. This is the craziest Promotion hunt in the world
Hmmmmmmmmmmeh
Forza SVW!
Serie B is close
I already talked about this
@@playermo97 good for you then I guess but no one really cares
The "lesser" leagues, you know, 2-3 stars in fifa are wild, they are fighting in every match like its their last. Love to see someone talk about one of them. Polish Ekstraklasa is really unpredictable this would be a nice concept for video. Cheers!
Yeah, this season title fight is great
As a pole i can tell our league is a shit show so watching any match would be an eye bleeding
Lower league are better or team lower on the table
Yeah this szn Legia Warsaw were last place at one point and they won the league last year
@@uhacek6295 True, Ekstraklasa is unwatchable. It's espacially sad since in this season race for the title is amazing. 2 teams tied on points and 3rd place only 3 points behind them? Damn if only my eyes wouldn't bleed every time I try to watch it.
In Germany we say that we have the best 2nd Division in the world because it is so close every season. During the last two seasons I've watched the last 4 *(or 5)* matchdays at Sky Sports live conference and with every goal scored in the Top 5 *(or 6)* the whole situation seemed to turn on its head.
If you want mid table competitiveness, the bundesliga is obviously the way to go and that carries over to the 2nd bundesliga as well. I think the EFL Championship has better teams, but thatâs probably due to the ridiculous shit management does in order to promote to the prem. 2nd bundesliga is probably the most competitive 2nd division in the top 4 because thatâs how German football works
@@TylerAven10 ehhh, not really, I mean Fulham and Bournemouth ore good, but I wouldnât say the level is better
@@rwholemilkisgood5050 Forest beat Arsenal, Leicester and gave Liverpool a good game, Middlesbrough beat Man United etc
@@indiekiddrugpatrol3117 I mean you could say the same about German teams, like hamburger making it to the semis of the pokal this year.
@@rwholemilkisgood5050 yea the second bundesliga is full of clubs that should be competing with bayern and dortmund though like hsv, shalke and bremen. If the bundesliga managed to form an English style top 6 those clubs are big enough to form it whilst most championship clubs are punching above their weight, for example forest are traditionally a medium sized club apart from a hugely successful period with clough which they'll never be able to top
Also in The 3. LIGA. Kaiserslautern are fighting for promotion back for the 2nd division as well.
FCK
Kaiserslautern is in the 3. Liga? Man they fell off.
@@romiarkan450 yeah they did, kinda sad
@@romiarkan450 And they were even on the brink of relegation to the fourth tier at one point
Free youtube livestream for 3. Liga!!!
Thank you for talking about this! I've been following the 2. Bundesliga for a while but almost nobody on CZcams talks about it. These title and promotion races are why I prefer 2nd and lower divisions over the first divisions most of the time, they are always exciting!
Iâm an avid buli 2 viewer because Iâm a Hannover 96 fan (massive pain) and yes this years second league in Germany is probably the most competitive itâs ever been and the most competitive second league in football right now
Letâs see where this title fight goes and letâs hope I can watch the lads secure non-relegation live tonight in a couple hours
Hopefully you guys do well next year
@@KNYX. only time will tell
Marcus Mann seems like a highly competent sporting director and with the appointment of Stefan Leitl we have a solid coach in for next season
but this is a club plagued with micro management and unprofessional issues for more than a decade now
if I were to make a video about all the things that are below optimal at this club it would be a long one and afterwards I most certainly would never get a job there ever again :D
@@JuliusBriggs As a Schalke fan, wish you luck, we need yours
@@CurryS_Vlr I'm definitely wishing you luck for promotion; be it for selfish reasons however as I'd enjoy a less competitive league next season :D
At the start of the season I was quite interested in seeing Schalke fail to promote out of curiosity about what would happen to the extended license the DFL gave them for the season but since they've given the club a renewal for 22/23 a week ago anyways that's no longer up for discussion
best of luck guys it would've been a shame to see such an important club for german football culture to crash and burn
@@JuliusBriggs I cried the day they got relegated but asking for luck when we have an 82% chance of qualifying is stupid xd. GL for the next season
THANK YOU GOD FOR CREATING THIS GUY, he covers what i wish needs to be discussed further, both schalke and werder being back gives us football fans happiness
Would love to see Hamburg back in the first division, however, doesnât seem likely, but still possible!
Sitting 4th and got two games left with Hannover 96 and Hansa. Think we got those in the bag. Unfortunately weâre 3 points behind Werder Bremen and Darmstadt 98. And they have pretty beatable games too. We just need to level the points with either of them and we jump them with goal differentials. Hereâs hoping though. đđ»đ€đŠđ
Its a meme already in germany that Hamburg cant get promotion.
They start the season very strong, but as spring comes up, the bottle it.
Relegated 2018 for the first time and f*cked it each and every time up since then.
Rosen sind rot, Veilchen sind blau - im FrĂŒhling verkackt der HSV!
I've been following it on and off because I've had a soft spot for Schalke when they had that great match against Real Madrid (how times change) and because I thought Huntelaar was an absolute baller. I also know two Germans who support... Hamburg and Hannover. You won't be surprised to know I have the most positive outlook
Miss the Huntelaar days
I've been saying the last few years that Bayern's dominance is just as much to do with the collapse of historic big clubs In Germany than it is how well run Bayern is
that and FFP
No
@@Maqwell 1st schalke
2nd werder
3rd Hamburg sv
Also GK Heuer Fernandes has been really Solid for HSV. In fact prior to the Clubs demise in 17/18 they just bearly stayed up during 13/14 e 14/15 via the Playoff. it would be great to see them back in the top flight i mean last year they almost did it i belive
Second bundesliga promotions battle is always crazy because 7 or 8 teams have the same quality of players
Ayy shoutout to Claudio Pizarro! He was the top foreign striker with the most goals in the Bundesliga until Lewandowski decided to be unstoppable
Thanks a lot for this video. As a german HSV Fan i love seeing peiple talk more about my club. Which doesnt happen often since our relegation.
Keep up the great Work, love yout stuff â€
as an Italian HSV is my favourite german club and I hope they get back in Bundesliga soon
Sadly for me, my favourite German team Ingolstadt is last in Bundesliga 2 đ
We will miss you đ
Maybe a new Donauderby in some yearsâŠ
Mines is Hansa Rostock đâ€ïž
That's a shame, they were playing in the 1. Division only a few years earlier.
Mine is Schalke, the 2-2 draw comeback in the 2017.18 season vs frankfurt and my dad made me fall in love with the club
zumindest können wir wieder 60 trashen nÀchste saison
Thank you for doing this video, I'm so happy to see it as a Schalke fan đ We just had a 2-1 last-minute victory against Sandhausen while Bremen choked a 2-0 lead and St. Pauli conceded a last-minute equalizer đđ»
Love when you talk about the german football.
I also think the promotion race in the danish second division is something to talk about. 4 teams fighting for two places, 3 points splitting 1 and 4. And in Denmark we have something called âoprykningsspilletâ meaning promotion games. Where the top 6 teams play each other 2 times, so every game is a âchampionshipâ game if you could say that.
Love to see the fact that Itakura Ko played amazingly in Schalke 04.
I'll admit, as a Schalke fan, the reelgation crushed my heart and (thankfully not) I have no intention to watch 2. Bundesliga. But after watching it half season, the division is one of my frequently watched sports program because man, the league is so fun & exciting, even i rooted for another team to win the match and the top 7 is one of the most intense title race I've seen this year. I salute you, Maqwell for bringing this up
A league that's also interesting is the challenge league (Swiss 2nd division) Between the first and the 2nd last place, there's only 17 Points in difference and as of now, there are 4 Teams still in the Title race.
I hope Winterthur will make it đ„
@@DerShadow Winterthur is very good this season, I support FC Aarau tho xd
Also there is somehow Vaduz
@@lucabonfanti7646 True, the village Vaduz only has 5600 inhabitants
And the rest of Liechtenstein in the other leagues of Switzerland or the Liechtensteiner cup like Triesen(berg), balzers, eschen-mauren, ruggell, schaan azzurri, and the l ll lll like Triesen berg ll or Vaduz lll and eschen mauren ll and a lot more...
I love how much reasearch and effort into this video!
Thank you for that great video! Finally some international CZcamsr talking about this league. In my opinion it is one of the most attractive and entertaining leagues in the world. You've some big clubs like Bremen, Hamburg and Schalke (which belonged to the top 5 in Germany and to the best clubs in Europe just a few years ago), a lot of clubs with a long tradition like Fortuna DĂŒsseldorf or St. Pauli, a rich fan culture and a great atmosphere (with up to 50.000 specators per match on average for some clubs before covid). Moreover every season is thrilling till the last minute. Everyone can beat everyone and there is usually no team that dominates the league. Often it is the case that one half of the league could get promoted while the other one is in fear of getting relegated just a few matches before the end of the season. And often there's an outsider, that gets promoted or even win the league. I'm a fan of VfB Stuttgart and despite having by far the best team on paper and the most money it was a struggle till the very end when we we're promoted to the Bundesliga in 2020.
I love this league and my Club (HSV). The last years we bottled it but if we donât get relegated this year itâs ok. I love the new players and the new coach
How are you getting relegated?
Iâve lived in paderborn for about 7 years before I moved back to England and there fans are crazy passionate I remember the 2 times they got promoted I can hear the cheers and celebrations in town through my house which was 10 minutes away from the town Centre
Awesome video. Very informative and entertaining. Keep up the good work.
DUUUUUDEEE
Never thought you would be making a Video on this! Thanks man
People may say that Bundesliga is a Farmers league, but Germany has the best second division, every season is so close
Great video maqwell I also want to say that another really interesting promotion is the fight for 2nd and 3rd in Ligue 2 between Ajaccio, Auxerre, Sochaux, and Paris Fc
You actually did really well in pronouncing the names.
Schalke just went up like 40 minutes ago and I'm going crazy!! GlĂŒck aufđ
Hey Maxwell, I'm from Germany and I can definitely say, that your pronounciation is really good. Definetly better than most other non-native speakers.
Im happy to see a Bundesliga Video. Perhaps you could do one about Freiburg? The whole race for 4th place is pretty interesting.
Thank you. I am a bremen fan...and this season is the craziest season in all of german football for a long time
This has been utter madness and confusion this title race! Plus the Serie B promotion is insane you should cover that as well!
damn you got the onefootball sponsor
Love your content keep it up!
thank you zhong xina
Finally, someone shining light on the Zweite Liga! My team is probably dropping back down into it, but good video!
You did great on your add for that football app, I downloaded using the link đđ»
This is the exact same case in série b in Italy
Love your Vegalta Sendai jersey
Looks neat
Great vid Maq đ„â€
Great recap! I'm still hoping Hamburg find a way to earn promotion back to the Bundesliga. Along with their European Cup win in the 80s, they also spent 55 consecutive seasons in Germany's top flight before they were relegated in 2018.
I love how in every CZcams video that deals with anything only slightly related to germany, the comment section is just full of us germans ;D
I also want to point out as I haven't seen anyone mention it, that your pronunciation was actually decent. Also thanks for jinxing Bremen. We need the price money quite desperately ;D
The 2. Bundesliga looks amazing this year. If you like exciting promotion stories you should check Ligue 2 too. Toulouse had a fantastic year with a recruitment based on statistics and data (even football manager). Their best players come from English 3rd division, Netherlands 2nd division, and Bulgarian 1st division and absolutely demolished every Ligue 2 records this year (2 years ago Toulouse had a 11 months streak without winning a game).
In addition to that, there are still 4 teams that can be promoted, Ajaccio who just too 17 goals in 35 games, (and scored 34 goals in 34 games). Auxerre, Sochaux and Paris FC are just behind and can hope to get promoted automatically or through play offs, and they all play very attractive and attacking football. You def should check Ligue 2, amazing storylines happen here too.
As a Schalke fan, Iâm happy u made this video
Thanks for making a video about this
Maqwell: *makes a video about German topics*
Comment Section: Guten Tag der Herr!
Love you.
Werder Bremen supporter here from Bremen ! I hope we are going up, it was a nice season but I want to be back in the Bundesliga đ! I personally hope that we can take our both neighbours from Hamburg with us even though its not really realistic. P.S.: you did pronounce many Names really good most of the time there were just minor differences:)
If you are a werder bremen fan chances are you are from bremen
wie habt ihr das gegen Kiel verloren ? ich will nicht schalke wiedersehen
@@aalamahmad25 I'm an exception
I'm from Germany and so happy you made a Video about this
Actually decent pronunciation on many of the names, Erzgebirge was spot on for example
I did a career mode on Erzgebirge so I had an advantage there haha
THANK YOU from a Werder Bremen Fan. We fans are right now having a blast we haven't had in a decade.
Your pronounciation is very good mostly. Keep it up mate! Great content!
been following the promotion battle for a few months now, praying shalke can return to the top flight and regain their form
Great vid! Installed the app and love it! Keep it up Maqwell!
much appreciated bro!
@@Maqwell Of course Maqwell! Continue what you do!
As A schalke fan, This has been an exhilarating season where I lost hope in the start, but we rebounded! I hope we can bring it through! Been a fan since 2015 and hope they can get back into the Bundesliga!
2nd and 3rd bundesliga every year so many teams that can win it in the end. The final match days are amazing. 2 years ago in the last 3 match days of the 3rd league 9 teams could still come out as the winners
Yes i was waiting for this one because i am also watching the Bundesliga 2
up until match day 30 (out of 34) 3 teams in the polish league (extraklasa) were tied on points on top of the table
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK đ
hey! i think you should see what happened in the last date of 2nd spanish division: how the team with the lead finished on 3rd place, which 2 teams promote directly and a weird moment when a whole stadium (Real Oviedo's) believed a fake new and went crazy
btw, congrats for your videos, i love your job :)
AYY FINALLY SOMEBODY TALKED ABOUT THIS!!! I'm a st pauli fan btw

You actually pronounced most names very well đ
Glad to see that people from outside Germany pick up on the best 2. Bundesliga season ever.
The whole year was nothing but fun
Cheers from germany
I think itâd be worth it for you to make a video on the Championship! But first, Really informative & great video! The 2. Bundesliga looks to be truly unpredictable!
Anyways about the Championship, although Fulham are very likely winning the league, the race for 2nd place is intense as well, as we could see a Bournemouth bottle-job with them being drawing-merchants as of late, and them having to face Nottingham Forest, who have been THE most exciting team to watch this season, after a dreadful start also my đšđŠ guy Richie Laryea FINALLY plays with them & also your đșđž guy Ethan Horvath occasionally plays. Huddersfield are also in the race with good form.
Itâd also be worth talking the play-off race & the teams 6th place Sheffield United have to play in 10th place QPR & more crucially 1st place Fulham.
2nd division races are hitting & especially seeing that Nottingham Forest side! Other than my bias towards Richie Laryea, I really think theyâre an exciting squad that has been rejuvenated under Steve Cooper.
I kiiinda wanna save the championship for when the playoffs happen but we'll see
@@Maqwell thatâs fair!
My favourite season of all time. Ther where like 7 teams with chances of getting promoted and 7 teams which could get demoted. Like the middle 4 where safe other than that it was all out madness. Altough my home team got relegated.
Been following this title race for the whole season for Schalke
Fast forward almost a year later (MD21), a lot has changed. Schalke and Bremen have been promoted to Bundesliga, and HSV bottled it as is their tradition in recent years. Schalke are in a disastrous form right now, sitting at the bottom of the table, whereas Werder really impressed with their performance for the most part, especially Niclas FĂŒllkrug whose form skyrocketted this season resulting in him taking the top spot for most goals scored (13), and granting him a spot in Flick's team. In 2. Bundesliga, Darmstadt continue to impress with great performances, now leading the top of the league by a 4 points margin. They also put up a great fight in the DFB cup. The "lilies" are followed by HSV who are 4 points clear of 3rd place Heidenheim, but they might bottle it again (having watched their recent fixtures, they really have a tendency to make their matches unnecessarily exciting). You also mentioned NĂŒrnberg who looked promising last season. This season however shadows are looming over the franconian club, as they are currently sitting at 13th place struggling for consistency and form. Their new Manager hired in summer, Markus Weinzierl, did not live up to the expectations the higher ups and fans had for their beloved "Glubb". They now have to focus on staying in the league, as there are only 3 points seperating them from last place.
You are the Goat! Memegod too! Best CZcamsr in the game.
Yes! Great video! The 2. Bundesliga is such an underappreciated league. Not the best football in the world but full of suspense with nice stadiums and the best fans in the world.
Not only does he cover >myteam's league (Fortuna DĂŒsseldorf), he also does it in a Vegalta jersey. 10/10 would watch, like and leave a comment again
Hope that Hamburg will return to Bundesliga after 4 years, only 1 our win against Hansa and Werder's loss against SSV Jahn...
im not german but i do follow the 2. bundesliga because of werder bremen, loved since i was a child because my dad gave me a werder shirt
A good morning always includes a Maqwell video
cool title race right there
U should look into Ektraklasa. The title race there is also amazing meanwhile the title holder is 11th and Wisla Krakow whoâs been considered a potential Title Winner for the past 10 years, is in the relegation zone.
It's like this every year, always close and full of surprises. You literally can't predict it, everyone is able to beat everyone else (for example Ingolstadt randomly beat NĂŒrnberg 5:0). This league is great year in year out, thanks for bringing some attention to it.
Btw, your pronounciation is pretty good.
man where have you been, finally ur back
Such a good league VfB can't wait to come back again
Love the vegalta Sendai jersey!!!
Serie B also looking funky as well
you should talk about Serie B in italy there are like 5 teams fighting for the title
Another (2.) buli video, big W!!!!
Me just watching the end to see him have to say all those names super fast, thatâs what I come here for
Finally someone taking about the 2.Bundesliga!
not bad well done how long did it take you
I wish the Bundesliga was so close
Great Vid! (BTW please make a Video Essay about my club, PAOK)
Edit:Reached the Quarterfinals on this year's UECL
You have to take a Look at polish leage its pretty hot there
You are trying your best with the pronunciation and thats all that matters. You are doing a good Job with the german names.
i would love it if you did a video on 1. FC Köln, who last season were in relegation and this season are contenders for the europa league :D
The ad was perfect
Ayyyy liking the Segalta Sendai Jersey
Its funny because in fifa 21 I promoted Darmstadt in career mode even made it to UCL Iâm rooting for them
Serie B title race is also very interesting
usually wouldn't even speak about the sponsor but one football is the best lmao been using it for years
I hope Hamburg goes back to bundesliga, it's painful to see them down in the rubber.
