This guys energy is absolutely unmatched. Makes me so happy to see you treat people, and the animals so well. I worked at the Omaha Zoo which a lot of you I’m sure are familiar with one of the top zoos, but due the treatment of the animals and humans is absolutely terrible. Couldn’t stand workin with people who could go to sleep knowing they didn’t feed or properly do their jobs. Man I’ll be laying in bed stressing if I shut the lights off, did something. Disgusts me
The wolverine is giving love bites. I have ferrets, who also are part of the mustelinae subfamily, just like the wolverine, weasel, and mink. They nibble you when they want to play or just cuddling sometimes (the classic lick, lick...chomp!). I love all the wild mustelids here. They’re all badass but very intelligent and super sweet once they bond with you.
The man: "I love wolverines, I know how to treat them and they won't hurt me". The wolverine: "This creature cuddles me, feeds me, one time it'll stop I will eat it".
He isn't being serious. He's doing it for the wolverine's benefit. People do that with their dogs (and even babies too sometimes) where they act like they're getting hurt while playing. It was pretty funny, but it isn't real lol.
Adult lions act as if they're injured when their cubs play-fight with them because it boosts their instinctual confidence in their ability to protect themselves and their pride. It's much the same with other mammal species in most cases.
I dunno man, those scratches on his forearm look pretty painful, and with fangs like those I'm pretty sure even a playful bite would elicit an "OW!" from the best of us. Sure it's nothing to really freak out about, but I wouldn't doubt that yell has some genuine pain behind it.
Dogs, cats, ferrets, and every other carnivore in the world knows very well how hard to bite so as not to draw blood. They're not psychopaths: they're not deliberately going to hurt the creature (human) that provides their food, are they? They're not stupid. Give them a bit of credit, will you?
Any human who is kind, loving and respectful of animals is my type of humans. That man is very knowledgeable you can tell he knows their behaviour. Wolverines are gorgeous.
Phill Huddleston There are city kids who don't even know how a living cow or chicken looks like, so yeah, this is neat. I like those wildlife parks, in my region is a big one dedicated to wolves. The guy in charge is part of the pack, it's amazing how the wolves interact with him. Edit: found the site www.wolfspark-wernerfreund.de/98language/01englisch/index.html
ich meiner That seriously depends on what city because you see drawings of cows all over school milk cartons. (Unless that changed within the past 5 years.)
The guy playing with wolverine, should have his own tv program. He knows the animals, and he’s tamed and domesticated them well. And he has a likable camera personality.
That wolverine is so pretty and love the handler so much and all who see it must want to take it home with them due to it's sweet personality. The other animals look great too and the cat was so adorable as well.
Bobcats are pretty built as well. Check out the video where some Russian chick has one in her house as a pet - thick ass legs and _huge_ paws. Could probably go toe to toe with this wolverine.
@Brucie Skyflower man, honey badgers are even bullet prof I've heard, Wolverines could be killed by a bear theres no doubt about it, but not without pulling a fight, so while the bear knows he could kill the wolverine also knows it won't be a walk in the park
Living the dream. Never really had pets but later in life I dated a woman who had a bunch of cats and dogs and it was the most joyous time I had. I spent every available minute with them and interracting and to think some people can get paid to do this is insane. I wished I would have pursued it as a young man.
In the wild wolverines are notoriously bad tempered and will attack anything including bears. That wolverine has to really love people or it would be going all Freddy Kruger on them.
medexamtoolsdotcom Have you taken the test for psychopathy? Your annoyance isn't normal. But I can tell you one reason: it's a small, intimate theatrical performance. Professional storytellers do this, too.
I saw a mated pair of wolverines once when I was hiking part of the Pacific Crest Trail in Washington, at a volcanic lake called Round Lake. I had looked up at a cliff face when I saw movement, and at first thought the cliff was much closer than it was and thought I was looking at two weasels (they pretty much are lol just ten times bigger). Then I realised that cliff was 500 yards away. It was amazing how fast they were scaling the cliff face, I've never seen anything like it. If those things wanted me dead they could probably pull it off (if I was unarmed, which I wasn't, I always carry when hiking), they are truly terrifying creatures. It's really cool to see one up close like this and so affectionate. Beautiful creatures too. I really hope their numbers bounce back, they have been pushed out of a lot of their habitat since we moved in...
When I was backpacking/hiking the Northern Cascades it was pretty cool when we got on the PCT for a bit, gonna have to add Round Lake to my places to visit. The Washington/Pacific Northwest will always be home 🌲
@@KimKardashiUn889 It's a _gorgeous_ lake, I guarantee you will love it. There is a trailhead to PCT accessible from the Mountain Loop Highway between Darrington and Granite Falls, it's about a 6 mile hike up from there, and Round Lake is on the way to the actual PCT. And be aware, the trail leading down from the top of the crest into the crater is fairly treacherous, you'll want boots with excellent traction, some strap on cleats would be ideal and a good walking stick, and maybe bring a lightweight folding trench shovel in case you need to fix any bad spots. I haven't been up there in a while (a decade actually) but the last time I went the trail was about a foot wide on a 40-something degree slope of clay, it was both narrow, steep and slippery, and a fall will without exception be fatal, it goes about 300 feet down at the 40-ish degree slope then steepens even further into a cliff with large boulders at the bottom. Maybe the forest service has cut it again recently but I wouldn't count on it. Totally worth it though, the water in that lake is as clear as diamonds, and the night sky view on a clear night is amazing, the crater blocks out a lot of the glare from city lights so you can really see the milky way. And who knows, maybe you'll see my wolverine friends or their offspring lol.

I open the gate, when Daddy comes home---those little guys climb my husband, as if he were a tree...... Sharp little teeth, sharp little claws, and able to hang upside down, and sideways..... Absolutely darling...!!!
Keep in mind it likely has nothing to do with actual bears. It was likely named so because of the Ursa Major or Minor constellations in the north, meaning, "Great Bear" and "Little Bear" respectively.
Steve Kroschel is amazing. He has a unique way with animals, and is so incredibly passionate. If you ever get the chance to visit his facility, I definitely reccomend it

Incredible display of restraint and humility from wolvie. He walked in and decided everyone in the area can leave with their lives.
Dear God the Wolverine is even bigger then I thought! That is actually terrifying
I want a job where I get to say "If it comes charging out, don't run"
Same dude, petting those creatures has to be a rush every fucking time man

These people are wonderful. And the Wolverine being tamed is totally remarkable.
not tamed, trained the premise is same with house cats lol
@@adains8819 You're mixing tamed with domesticated
He learned the language of the Wolverines. That’s amazing. ❤️
All animals in this video are happy and well cared for. A good man
“I’m the only one that’s ever worked this closely with a wolverine...OWWWW!!!!”
😁
"apparently I'm the only one that works this close with wolverines OWWWWWWW" LMAO
Oh man... I can't stop cracking up 😅
He isn't being serious.
Not a fan of zoos but this park seems legit. You can see the animals are comfortable and loving which is a very good sign of well being.
Any human who is kind, loving and respectful of animals is my type of humans. That man is very knowledgeable you can tell he knows their behaviour. Wolverines are gorgeous.
Them kids are so lucky to see all those animals up close in the same place. That's the type of education that they will remember all their lives.
Phill Huddleston indeed 💗
Phill Huddleston There are city kids who don't even know how a living cow or chicken looks like, so yeah, this is neat. I like those wildlife parks, in my region is a big one dedicated to wolves. The guy in charge is part of the pack, it's amazing how the wolves interact with him.
Edit: found the site www.wolfspark-wernerfreund.de/98language/01englisch/index.html
lol Nah most will forget
Those kids* Learn English.
ich meiner That seriously depends on what city because you see drawings of cows all over school milk cartons.
I've never seen wolverines get that playful. I always thought they were more vicious.
That Wolverine is built like a tank jesus christ what a beast, no wonder they fear no other animal no matter the size...
They fear no other animal because they're dumb enough to do so. You really think a bear has no chance against this?
TheShermanTanker A bear would rarely choose to even stay 5 feet from a wolverine, and 9/10 times they would run away from the wolverine
@@rsuriyop But what about the Bobcat?
That wolverine's got some serious claws.
Claws, paws, and jaws. And they are badasses.
TotalMishap - Logan sure does
Living the dream. Never really had pets but later in life I dated a woman who had a bunch of cats and dogs and it was the most joyous time I had. I spent every available minute with them and interracting and to think some people can get paid to do this is insane. I wished I would have pursued it as a young man.
I like how the wolverine is jumping like a toddler wanting to get picked up
"Apparently I'm the only one who has worked this close with wolverines."
"OW!!!"
*hand bleeding*
Yea I definitely believe him lmao
Jerod Powell
I wonder why that's the reason
Maybe he screams that loud on purpose because it makes it easier for the wolverine to understand that he doesnt like what its doing?
Jerod Powell lmao
Love when he screams "Owww!" Usually these trainers speak so quietly and gently lol
Kendall Nissley You try being quiet with a wolverine's claws stuck in your ass! 🤣
It's how they teach the animals not to bite.
Alex Daniels True. Thats how i teach dogs not to bite when theyre playing. Works every time.
In the wild wolverines are notoriously bad tempered and will attack anything including bears. That wolverine has to really love people or it would be going all Freddy Kruger on them.
The wolverine must’ve smelled those hidden treats in his pocket!!!😂😂😂
3:38 "Apparently I am the only one who has worked with wolverines...OUCH!!!!"
I can see why 😑
🤣😂

I don't get his annoying exaggerated reactions to the critter's affection.
Steve Irwin cough cough
medexamtoolsdotcom Have you taken the test for psychopathy? Your annoyance isn't normal. But I can tell you one reason: it's a small, intimate theatrical performance. Professional storytellers do this, too.

This guy is the best !! He can pet (almost) all his animals and has a cool hat
Really cool, especially the Wolverine knowing that such a demonstration is so rare.
I love this quirky guy, full of love and kindness for creatures Even when the wolverine chews his hands.
Hugh Jackman sure looks different in real life.
Ya but this original version is more badness and fearless

Soham Thakur wow what an interesting point ! That was a super comment!!!!
All those animals are so beautiful! And so are the people taking care of them ❤️
As someone who played Far Cry Primal and tamed a wolverine, I hereby approve this video
Well, if I see one, we shall make a protection pact. He keeps my house safe, I keep him safe.
@@KimKardashiUn889 WA State (and Pac NW in general) backwoods, the deep, dark green areas, and mountain-folk for the win(s). ;) Cheers.
Lucky man, the trust those animals have given him is priceless
The fact that he still had all of his fingers and toes is PROOF that the wolverine loves him.
This is the guy who is on Dr. Oakley's show on NatGeo Wild all the time!!!! He is such a unique character and loves those animals sooo much. Such an awesome dude!
>reaches in and gets bitten
>"Owwww!"
>reaches in again
I don't think it's very painful, he's just trying to train the animal not to nip at him and that's how he's doing it.

What is the scientific name of that weasel?
It's so cute how the wolverine squeezes squeaky "OW!" sounds from the handler.... 😂😂😂😂

They are incredibly dangerous. I believe one killed a polar bear once.
I have heard Wolverines can tear, just about any thing, to pieces... The enemy doesn't come too big....
We have pack of ferrets; talk about not having a chance.... I open the gate, when Daddy comes home---those little guys climb my husband, as if he were a tree...... Sharp little teeth, sharp little claws, and able to hang upside down, and sideways..... Absolutely darling...!!!
"Arctic means 'bear' and Antarctic means 'no bear'." Who knew?
I did not know this I completely missed it thank you for this fact
Keep in mind it likely has nothing to do with actual bears. It was likely named so because of the Ursa Major or Minor constellations in the north, meaning, "Great Bear" and "Little Bear" respectively.
Steve Kroschel is amazing. He has a unique way with animals, and is so incredibly passionate. If you ever get the chance to visit his facility, I definitely reccomend it

"I'm the only one to work this closely with Wolverines......OWWW !!"
Thats reason why you shouldnt
And he isn't. Mabe the only one in the U.S.A.
I laughed so hard at that! Lol.
Pure selfish behavior. "I am the big frikking wolverine dude". No, you have a wild animal captured that belongs in nature...
@@forestdweller5581 I think a lot of these people use the Steve Irwin persona as a way to legitimatize their desire to touch animals that are better left alone. "Oh i have to grab this animal to examine it...for my work you know."
I saw a wolverine once in pursuit of a marmot while hiking over north molar pass in Banff national park. My fav wildlife sighting.
That Wolverine is adorable!
Damn I’d never leave this place . It’s my only real reason for winning a lottery , so I could buy a forest and fill it with animals in need of help in the Uk . Who could ask for more of life than seeing a species thrive
Me too.
ironicly chernobyl is now a place without humans where wildlife thrives and adapts more and more to the increased radiation with every generation. tells you a lot about human influence on nature.
@@Genesis23OPB Desperately sad that that is now changing and humans are now increasingly being allowed back. You are so right and wish they would leave that area to the wolves, bears, deer and many other critters who have made it their home.
@@SmileyBlue69 agreed. i read today that the same thing is happening in fukushima, the wildlife gets back into the radiation zone where there are no humans.
@@Genesis23OPB Oh yes, of course. So obvious but hadn't thought about it. I will Google search that.

FOR EVERYONE WHO CAME FROM BRAVE WILDERNESS:
This wolverine is named Jasper, and Steve has raised him from the day it was born. VICE did a great video on it. Brave Wilderness is an amazing channel, but they play up the drama for production value. Jasper is not as scary as they made him out to be. He's basically Steves dog.
That one's name is Bamf. He said so in the vid. Jasper is the brother.
Goran Brandon Steve Kroschel is Steve Kroschel. Kroschel isn't your average anthropologist. And as Keana said, Jasper is like Steve's dog.
Goran Brandon as I said, it's a wolverine. I never said Jasper was a dog. And I also never said that the wolverine's wild instincts wouldn't come out all of a sudden.
Goran Brandon what? What the fuck? I am speaking English right now. I can comprehend it perfectly, I'm not a goddamn Mexican, for fucks sake.
I'm glad all the animals look so happy
I’ve never seen a wolverine up close …. All I know is, they are extremely ferocious and powerful
