This week on Sunday Longplay, a brand-new Zelda 2 ROM hack just dropped last week, so let's check it out! Welcome to Zelda 2: Paracosm!
This is a rom hack designed out of love for Zelda II. It has always had a dreamlike atmosphere to it, and this new adventure really leans into that aspect. Work on this hack started in summer of 2021 with the intention of only making a slightly dreamier variant of the original, but it slowly became its own distinct project. It features new overworlds, towns, dungeons, graphics, and text. There is custom music in progress, but that will be implemented in a future update!
As Zelda slumbered after Ganon was destroyed, Link recovered the Triforce. However, that was only half of the story. Not only did Link succeed in the waking world, but a parallel Link also had to succeed within Zelda's dream realm. Here is the untold story of the ethereal twin world within Zelda's unconscious mind...

This channel is great and people who said Zelda 2 sucked are clearly wrong it is one of most popular game to make romhacks about. Zelda 2 is basically a genre on its own at this point. Ys 3 tried something similar and it is also a great game but not as complete as Zelda 2.
Paracosm is great love the dreamy pallette.
I am curious have you played Shadow of the Night? I see Journey of a Day from the same author Ice Penguin but definitely play Shadow of the Night it is definitely GOAT in terms of Zelda 2 romhacks.
