How Alcohol Ruined The Best Midfielder in The World

  • Deco was so good, he would help carry an incredibly weak squad to the champions league glory, mentored a young Xavi, and even kept Andres Iniesta on the bench due to just how incredible of a player he was. But unfortunately, he was a talent that despite the brilliance and magic, completely lacked discipline and could have been even greater. Because as class as he was on the pitch, Deco was always known as a player who would never take training seriously and would even come to training drunk in the height of his career. So today, I feel like it’s my duty to show and remind you all just how good Deco truly was, and share how his disruptive behavior prevented him from staying at the highest level for a much much longer time.

Deco was a joy to watch in the midfield. His vision, passing range, free kicks and an eye for goals what made him a great player during his peak. Sure, his discipline is his weakness but he laid the foundation of how midfielders are played at Barcelona and possibly, key word possibly how the modern midfielders are playing today.

He had a massive career, I don't think alcohol ruined him really. If anything I think he did good for himself and was pretty much a serial winner everywhere he played and as much as his bad habits contributed to a declining spell in Barcelona, let's not forget how he influenced some of the best players to play the game the likes of Messi, Xavi, Iniesta etc.

If Deco opted to play for Brazil he would have had no competition because he was superior to Zeroberto and Junhinho.

In reality Dinho n Deco are futballers who spent their youth honing their skill.
From the time they were kids thru their amateur stage all they did was practice. At pro level they managed to win every major trophy.
At 21 years Dinho made his mark with Brazil... he saved the team against Belgium n England and also at Barca alongside Deco they helped revive the club.
Deco was crucial for Porto ucl win.
The only mistake Deco made was playing for Portugal. If he had stuck with Brazil he would have been perfect in midfield which is what Brazil needed at Copa2006.

      Eusebio, C.Ronaldo & Rui-Costs would like a word geez.
Plus don’t forget Pepe, Carvalho, Coluna, Baia……Deco is up there, but Portugal have had some other really good players geez.

He got what he wanted. Same with other players: They decide it's time to enjoy life after working so hard and achieving success. Shame for spectators but good maybe for the player to balance their lives with living...

Losers talk about Kroos and Modric in this fucking generation but real legends talk about not just Xavi and Iniesta but they remember Deco he was incredible for Porto and Barcelona it's sad to see Deco and Ronaldinho fall in 2007/08 season they could've won something if the partying destroyed em and Ronaldinho was my favorite and as soon as he left I never forgot his moment at Barcelona if Ronaldinho and Deco didn't had that partying and drinking problem they could've stayed 1 more year to play in 2009 prime Barcelona team it woulda been nice to see em join that team if it wasn't for the excessive partying and drinking but remember Deco is not only forgotten he is a legend that he should be remembered for what he has done for Porto and Barcelona

There were rumours when he signed with fc Porto, that he was a drug addict, by mid season in his first year, he had a serious injury, again rumours said he wasn't injury he was doing a treatment to quit drugs. Doubt this was true, in is second season he became the most influential player in the team and when of the best players ever to represent my team
