I've heard a fan theory that apparently the pilot for Adventure Time could be used as a backdoor to Nickelodeon, given that the pilot first aired there. This could explain why the Adventure Time characters have early designs.

I'm mostly intrigued by the one person who looks like they've survived from their show and that's Muriel... you know usually she's protected by her faithful dog Courage but since he's nowhere around I have to assume the absolute worst case scenario has happened and she's lost both her faithful dog and her cranky husband... Poor old lady needing to charge into battle in the name of her dog and husband.
There's a part of me that finds it hard to believe that courage would get corrupted because he's had to go through so much horror situations (not like cartoony quirky creepy scenes like actually creepy scenes) though... Little guy is a survivalist for Muriel (and Eustace though that's more so because he doesn't want Muriel to be heartbroken).
I think courage may have sacrificed himself to save Muriel, it would definitely be in character and a heartwrenching scene.

I really hope this show gets made. It is surprisingly really unnerving to see all these beloved characters from my childhood distorted like that. Surprisingly scary. I'm definitely gonna give it a watch when it eventually comes out.

My childhood was Lego Mixels, and they had a show on Cartoon Network, so I really hope to see that world in the show. That generic forest could possibly be from their world, too.
10:55 the forest area could be a couple of things. Since we're seeing all the old cartoons coming back like dexters laboratory and the flinstones, my guess is they're referecing Johnny Quest. most of their adventures take place in a forest/jungle like area

I wanna see Teen Titans Go villain "Control Freak" try and help out with this. It seems like a situation he would be pretty helpful with his knowledge of television. Not to mention, if they're hopping around world to world, it wouldn't hurt to know the location of some OP characters or weapons that could help battle the Glitch.
A Mighty Magisword cameo would be appreciated as well. I still like that show despite it getting shut down by its 3rd season.
Edit: I wasn't expecting so many likes for my idea. Thanks guys. I may not be a giant fan of Teen Titans go, but it does have its own charm that I can respect. Honestly though, if there's a giant glitch destroying iconic cartoon worlds from your childhood. Wouldn't you want to try and find the strongest and smartest beings in those worlds to save everything, whether they're a villain or a hero?
Even underrated beings like Weasel from "I AM WEASEL" or Uncle Grandpa would be considered a massive advantage against the glitch.

In regards to some of the mystery backgrounds,
The two forests actually have some hints in their design.
The first one mentioned has a softer, more cartoonish design, and heavily resembles the forests seen in Adventure Time. The designs for adventure time actually are likely on purpose. The scene(s) showcasing adventure time are from the first/pilot episode of the series. The designs of Finn, Jake, and Rainicorn all match this episode.
The second forest is more realistic and shaded. It's probably a reference to Over the Garden Wall, which is one of the only CN shows that really has used a artstyle like that before.
I think the second one is supposed to be from Dora
it's absolutely a recolored Captain Planet
I was thinking that the first forest was more closer to some of the Chuck Jones art style backgrounds. I agree with the second one alluding to Over the Garden Wall though!

So far the one character I want to see is my boy Dexter! I wouldn't mind if he's the one who manages to escape, build a base of operations and helps Pippy and the others collect survivors, kinda like he did in Punch Time Explosion.

This is something that reminds me of the good old days of cartoons, when they came out with awesome shows, rather then some mainstream ones we see nowadays.
Small theory of mine: Perhaps spongebob’s world is unaffected by the Glitch? Spongebob is most likely not going to be cancelled for quite a long time, not to mention all the spin-offs that are being created. The glitch may not be able to enter Spongebob’s world, or at least it may have its power weakened there. His world might be a safe haven for our characters for an episode or two.
not sure if that theory especially checks out, Scooby Doo, Looney Tunes, etc, arent going anywhere any time soon, so it would be the same there, but clearly, just look at Scooby Doo.

The whole glitch thing in this pilot reminds me of Rob from the amazing world of gumball, and the whole Void thing they have in that show. It seems like it could sort of tie into this somehow

Rob tried to turn everyone live action to save them from the void and failed when sucked in. Also the little girl Rob kidnapped who could predict the future said, "there is no future." Meaning everything in their world is coming to an end. I'm almost fairly certain that the void is from their universe and devouring everyone else or just a glitch who just attacking their world like all the other canceled series.

It would Make sense for jack and buttercup to survive. They seem like their stronger than the others.

Samurai Jack does have a sword forged by gods and he used it to kill Aku, so makes sense he fends off the Glitch.
And Buttercup is the braver/bolder among Powerpuff Girls, and possibly she wanted to fight at first but after losing Blossom and Bubbles to the corruption, she fled.

The setting in the scene with Adventure Time is indeed extremely accurate. It has Bonnibel's canibets in ( seemingly ) the exact same position, the chalk board, however there is a major difference - The desk we see our three main characters hiding behind isn't in the actual show, as you can see in 6:55. Along with that, she doesn't have a computer on her cabinets, which we see when Pibby & Friends hide from Finn and Jake. It's most likely that these are mistakes, but it's possible it's a different lab. PB has, estimating, 3-4 labs, shown in the series. Also, the golden sword indicates the scene we see takes place during the early moments of the series.

It looks the corruption targets the main characters of series. The Superman dude in the superhero show, Gumball, Finn, and Jake are all the main characters of their show. It looks like when the corruption invaded Learning With Pibby, it simply failed to corrupt the main character, Pibby.
It looks like she wasn't the only one either, because there are several others like Darwin, Samurai Jack, and Unikitty who haven't been touched.
Also, it looks like this corruption takes place during Adventure Time's pilot, which explains the design differences and even Finn's golden sword.
Edit: I'm pretty sure thee Scooby Doo scene is the old style cartoons, so if there's any explanation for Shaggy being corrupted, you have that.

Now they gotta put their difference aside
1. The superhero world's art-style specifically reminds me of the 1940s Fleischer Superman cartoons.
2. Fun fact: Foul Play in Funland is considered to be the first Scooby Doo cartoon with a "real monster", i.e. not just some guy in a mask.
3. One thing I just realized at 13:32: The corrupted sun from Pibby's world seems to have lost all its teeth. Don't know what that's about, since none of the other corrupted cartoon characters seem to be affected in such a way.
4. As someone whose been watching CZcams since almost as long as the platform has been around, Spongebob not appearing outside of Nickelodeon makes _too much_ sense. After all, the whole reason Content ID was created is because Viacom decided to be Karens over people uploading clips of SpongeBob to the platform.
Ooh trust me growing up on CZcams I also know how strict the copyright is on videos with Spongebob. 😂 That’s a good point, that may be a reason.

Hey! Something that has been pointed out by some other people is that most (if not all) of the cartoons consumed by the glitch are canceled/complete. I’m not sure if that applies to some metaphoric explimation of the void or anything, but I just wanted to point it out. Great video by the way!

I was thinking.... what of cartoon characters and the episodes r them living their life but when the show ends they get stuck in reruns so the glitch comes and infects them and forces them to do the reruns? Idk lol

I would like to bring attention to when all the cartoon character faces appear,Fred Gumball and Finn all have bags under their eyes while everyone else doesn't and that it seems they are the only three where i can't tell if that face appeard before on promotional material or the show itself

What if the glitch acts like oil on water, being unable to get into the water?
It is like a TV glitch, and a TV would malfunction underwater.
Then again, what if it’s power is increased when underwater because of this? A TV malfunction = a glitch, and TVs glitch underwater. This may give the glitchy substance more power underwater, possibly putting Spongebob and his friends in even more danger.
I think the glitch goes after cancelled stuff in shows and shows that are being cancelled, so id say spongebob's show is a safe haven since spongebob is still going strong with more new episodes, new movies, and new spin offs making them immune to the glitch

I think that dark forest, and this might be a stretch, is the Everfree Forest from My little pony friendship is magic.

The generic super heroes remind me most of the Hanna-Barbera Super Friends cartoon from the 70's that used to run in syndication on cartoon network.
They also were airing another syndicated show called Pound Puppies around that time, which I think may have helped influence the design of the three dog characters.
The evil cat lady's art design reminds me most of the characters from Disney's The Aristocats, with elements of what was mentioned in the video.

I love how he treats Flintstones like noone knows about them but I'm 19 (Born AFTER 2000) and I watched Flintstones A LOT as a kid
The Flintstones are a cornerstone of western animation, without the Flintstones, we wouldn't even have the Simpsons, and so adult animation wouldn't have been popularized

One thing I've noticed is this seems to take place in a weird time zone for certain characters like for example samurai jack is depicted in his original CN form despite this being an adult swim show that could use his more modern appearance and considering this is an apocalyptic setting the beragled and more serious samurai would be more fitting so this choice is likely intentional or how they use Scooby-Doo where are you instead of what's new? Or old Hanna Barbara cartoons without any of there modern appearances all this while having modern CN characters like gumball or Steven universe. I imagine they will be depicting characters in there most popular and recognizable form
