The fact that the darkness glitch can effect even Eric Andre, one of the most powerful characters in the Adult Swim Universe, means we probably should take this thing more seriously

Eric isn't powerful, he's trapped in the show and desperately tries to escape at the start of every episode by destroying the set

I love how everyone thought that the glitch corruption was just characters getting consumed by a glitchy cloud and white eyes and adult swim went a step further to make it nightmare fuel.
I mostly think the glitch is a way for everything to be forgotten, like cartoons, people, and animations, so in a way it’s saying everything isn’t safe, even yourself and you are forced to be a perfect image of yourself but really from the inside, you’re dying, and the glitch prevents you from living in a world where there is problems and freedom, I feel that every animation isnt safe and it will all be forgotten, like a memory
The fact they went the extra mile to actually edit in new footage for some of the shows is so great.

I like how the glitch didn't start for the Eric Andre show until he pulled out the gun less like it was trying to corrupt him and more like his violence is what allowed it into the show.

I love how aside from some visual glitching, the "Who Shot Hannibal" scene plays out exactly the same, implying that there's nothing the Darkness can do to make Eric any worse.

This is such a high effort April Fools prank, we need a full series now lol. I don't even know if a Pibby's show would even be possible though. It would be such a unique idea to have an entire storyline scattered throughout edits of other shows, like an ARG / or just a weekly showcase of glitchy episode segments cut together. I love how one of the first things they did with this broadcast is dispel the notion that Rick would somehow be able to combat the corruption.
i appreciate it because so many people characterize him as almost untouchable and tbh that would make him pretty boring. i like knowing there's something out there that could hold its own against him like it does basically any other character who comes into contact with it

They dispeled nothing lol, Morty only momentanely glitched and no one even noticed for some reasons that will probably be explained on the plot, my point being, the one affected was Morty, and Rick didn't even notice about the corruption so we do not know what would Rick do if he knew about it, he is already experienced on these multi-dimensinal things so unless he gets caught off guard or something, he will probably have some idea of what to do against an entity that absorbs dimensions

2:44 something similar to this happened when i was watching the simpsons on e4 uk and apparently it started glitching before the credits and a voice started announcing saying theres a bit of a technical fault and we are trying to fix it other wise we will be put onto the technical fault card to play some music so expect glitchyness and for 20 minutes straight the entire thing was glitchy

The idea of this foreboding prescience going through different shows reminded me a lot of the CN Invaded event from 2007, and the fact the Rick and Morty episode they chose was the one where everyone questions their reality is brilliant. I also love that not even live action shows are safe, only thing that would've made it better imo is if they added a Tim and Eric episode into the mix.

@@Zapdiamond Yeah there was an alien themed episode in a bunch of their shows. Some were more fourth wall aware but a few stuck to their own logic. I recall (in no specific order) they were Ed Edd n' Eddy, Fosters home, Billy and Mandy, Camp Lazlo, and Gym Partner's monkey. The aliens had a single goal to find "cheese" and the Billy and Mandy segment showed the ultimate results of their invasion. It's pretty funny so look up the full ending if you want.

I notice that in this special the Void only ever seems to "get" someone during moments of extreme emotional distress - Bun Bun seems to get corrupted at 1:25, likely feeling incredibly overwhelmed not only by the unfamiliar situation they're in but also by the extreme plot of that episode of Rick and Morty - the mere concept of "your memories may not be what actually happened" is a crushing idea for a preschool show character, presumably one about as smart as a child.
Morty's brief transformation at 1:45 is probably a similar thing to Bun Bun's, having to shoot your own grandfather would be emotionally exhausting for anybody
I have no idea what goes through Eric Andre's head, but given that the scene at 5:50 is identical to the unaltered version aside from visual changes, I think it's safe to assume he's upset in one way or another if he's willing to attack an unarmed man several times in the chest.
Shake's muscles glitch out a bit at 8:09, and given that he spends the rest of the episode absolutely fuming at everything and everyone, he's probably equally angry right then. His anger also seems to be acting as a catalyst for the void once he starts beating people up at the bar at 8:53.
So basically: Four characters are 'gotten' by the void. Bun Bun and Morty while under intense despair, Eric and Muscles while under intense rage.
