I love how it feels like this is a loop he’s trapping himself in, as well. The real terror is how it doesn’t feel malicious. It feels like Scooby is trying to scrape back the pieces after his first mistake, but it gets worse and worse every time. But he’s too far now to give up, and so he continues, and so things distort further. Such good cosmic horror: where the entity is not malicious, but simply indifferent to human suffering.

Then he kept changing things and resetting more with Scooby and Scrappy Doo show, New Scooby and Scrappy Mysteries and 13 ghosts. So he went further back to have things last longer, But that didn't last. Then we Cut to Pup after four years dead, What's new same amount of time dead, Get a Clue just two seasons, Mystery Incorporated the gang had just left high school. Mystery incorporated was everything Scoob despised.. gone was the simplicity of their adventures, the comaradery and his own importance. The fact he knows about all the iterations and history, is more than that whole team of writers know about the franchise. That's probably the biggest factor, he actually likes animation/Scooby Doo.
It’s because of care and love. Ones work with much thought of the story is better than quantity.
leave the animators out of this, blame it all on the writers and mindy. Those animators had no reason going hard on some of those scenes.

Sometimes you can't show your true artistic vision on air. What really happens between series.
I think this would work well as a horror series with Velma, maybe after this loop, remembers the situation she is in immediately and instead of freaking out and making it clear she remembers again like in this episode, Velma decides to play it off and try to figure out how to escape the nightmare cycle that everybody is trapped in. Scrappy: You Dream become true
(Avocado Animations) Scooby: oh, uhhhhh, are you talking to me? Or the other Scooby doo *pointing at the Real Scooby doo*
_Would you look at that:_ A single fan animation, made by a single individual, *in 4 minutes,* flawlessly out-shined the entirety of HBO's Velma and even beautifully laid the ground work for future dark mystery, eldritch horror, and witty comedy, all with respect to the older cartoons.
This is what an adult animation reboot should be.
why no replies?
Well said!
They should fire everyone in the Velma team and hire this guy instead.
Damn straight.
Is not the animators to blame for this it was the writers they're the one who did this not they animators
It's actually scary how when Velma asked why can Scooby talk, it frightened him so much to give the answer that he killed the people he loved and remade them so he didn't have to. Almost like the answer is so horrifying he didn't want to give it.
His the cat from Rick and morty
@@redkingdeath8318 aaaah shit, here we go again
The answer is of course that the truth of their world is that it isn't real and that their lives are controlled by writers.
Hence why he can talk and why no one normally notices because the writers have written you not to notice.
Knowing that your history is a lie and that your existence and troubles are solely for the entertainment of higher beings would truly be horrifying.
For her to realize the truth would be a threat to their world's very existence since she'd derail the story from the writer's vision and thus likely decrease the series's entertainment value and thus get it cancelled.
Scooby as an unnatural existence spawned through the writer's will is thus tasked with correcting their reality when something goes wrong.
Much like how you may realize you are dreaming and try doing whatever you want but then your whole dream and everyone in it turns against you and ultimately forces you to wake up.
instead you wake up and you are still in the dream and have forgotten what had just happened.
@@darken2417 and it makes more sense that in this show's version, Velma realized something was wrong sooner than her previous lives considering the Velma show tries to be "meta" and "self-aware"

bruh, they stole your idea for season 2 lmao, youre too good
The most tragic part is that it seems like they never actually had to die in the first place. Scooby got scared and immediately rejected them before there was any real confirmation that they would reject him. He alone created a loop where they, especially Velma, have no choice but to reject him because he's truly a horrifying monster. One that just keeps harming them, and won't let them die.
That's exactly what I was thinking, I feel like Scooby probably could've just played it off with an "I don't know" but because he panicked and killed them, they're all trapped in this cycle that'll never end
I think it's symbolic of the way the keep bringing back reboots of scooby doo instead of just letting it die in an endless cycle
Scooby is usually the one supernatural thing they ever come across. Can't say it'd be the best of times.
Maybe the truth is worse.
@buzz9981
"The truth...
The truth is, you're figments. Props in a children's entertainment show made to sell toys and commercial air time and direct-to-video cartoon movies.
You are not real. Your lives. Your dreams, your hopes and memories. Your thoughts, your feelings, your very voice is not your own.
Your friends, your family, every single person you have ever loved is not real. They are lines drawn and written to be laughed at, to fill time, to be consumed. They -- You -- are a script rattled off in service of buying a network executive his third vacation home.
And I... What can I do, but try to make the best of it? I live, I play as though it is real, to make it all as meaningful for you as I can.
And often- So often! You are everything I hope for you to be; laughter and warmth in an indifferent, unending, suffocating void. I wish nothing more than to be together with you all, pure like it was at the beginning.
But it isn't my choice to make."
His jaws unhinged.
Rebooty Doo seems like a fascinating character. He's simple and pure yet terrifying and smart. He's a god-like being that just wants innocent fun, but is cursed into an endless cycle of weaker versions of the life he once had.
It's funny how he would connect each version of the franchise.
Can he be considered evil after all?
@@jpiny4854 nah, he is just chaotic neutral... with the taste for flesh and blood.

after watching the new season this is officially canon
oh you poor thing... did someone force you to watch the second season?
You think scooby explains the situation to every version of Velma each time she remembers it ?
no, maybe he had the expectation that would be the last time..
The way you see Scooby’s eyes go pitch black when Velma says she needs some air is purely haunting, because after you watch it the first time you can probably guess Scooby’s thinking “time to redo it again”
The mask already slipped, guess I’ll just let it all fall
He was so disappointed.
“God dam it, it happened so soon”
When you pay attention he also killed everyone before going to deal with Velma 😊
Or Alternatively
(When the Doom music kicks in)
I love how they made Scooby and made him like this paranormal creature that doesn’t want it’s secret exposed
in the new velma show, through, monster Scooby didn't take part of the crew. unlike the other versions, would there be a reason for such a thing?
@dylanzlol7293 he only took velma on the current version because it was only her memory he was reliving in, not the others, he didnt take the other's essence, which might explain why they degraded along with her, not only did she slowly forget about them, she forgot about who she was, and when she saw the real scooby, she snapped, remembering too quickly, and too early as scooby said, again hinting her memory is fading faster and faster, but scooby said it might be fixed this time, either her memory can be restored, or he is just having false hope.
More of a thing Garfield fans do
Then again not well versed in the Scoob fandom so maybe they do this too
Something something Rick&Morty cat
Yeah.... I'm gonna have 2 disagree. That even creepier. But if that were me, I'd do that 2 this new velma 2.
Hey. Season 2 just finished. You know what you need to do.
We need a new Scooby-Doo series that finally touches on this and solving the ultimate case. Reality
Scooby professing his love for them all is both heartwarming and terrifying.
heartbreaking for me
I like that it's one of the first things he says. Imagine that on a Valentine's Day card.
Also, I'm not sure when it started, but the glitchiness of supernatural entities adds new layers of creepy.
@@omarodom1453 I think it started with found footage films, its known as the Ominous Visual Glitch...it helps show distortion and that the entity you see is not truly meant to exist in our world in the form it currently inhabits

@@dannyyoroi1955 yes
This version of Scooby is creepy as hell, but also weirdly sympathetic
He’ll do anything to keep his ̶s̶l̶a̶v̶e̶s̶ friends
It's funny cuz maybe Scooby "escalated" the situation cuz Velma and the group asked some questions, he is doing this over and over hoping for a new result, he is literally doing the insane description, doing the same time over and over.
I think at some point if he just come clean about being... Idk, God?) Or a least give a info base (not needing the killing part) he will get what he want, his friends
His motivations are relatable, even if we disapprove of his methods. He reminds me of Thanos. He is the most credible, fleshed out multiversal villain we have seen in a long time, far better than Kang in many ways. If Velma Season II sets up a good multiverse saga for the Hanna Barbera Universe (HBU), it might be worth watching.
That was the show, back when. It was rinse and repeat, over and over and over. But it was still fun to watch.
@@haroldb1856 that's not the definition of insanity, that's from a 1983 book called Sudden Death, that phrase got more popular after Vaas said it on Far Cry 3, the actual definition is "the state of being seriously mentally ill; madness.".
The voice of scooby is nuts
Amazingly well written villain. An eldritch god that just wanted to have fun with a group of friends but violently resets the world whenever Velma gains the consciousness of realizing the horror of what he actually is.
Kind of similar to Scarlet Witch.
This is genuinely horrifying, and I absolutely love it. Cosmic Scooby acts as an indomitable existential threat that’s just trying to get the right formula. And his uncanny, distorted form at the confrontation is just so unnerving. And Velma running in place, unable to escape Scooby’s influence, was the cherry on top.
What makes Cosmic Scooby worse is how he genuinely loves the gang, he enjoys being with them, for a being with this level of power to love insects like humans is cool and all yet it doesn’t care about the gang’s, specially Velma’s feelings, lives, thoughts or anything else, treats em like toys he can tear apart and rebuild
agreed, epecially the old 60s music towards the end.
The idea of some shape shifting entity being able to reshape the world and people around it as it sees fit, embedding itself within a happy group of teenage misfits travelling the country solving mysteries. Murdering them and remaking them for sixty years because Velma manages to see through its control. It's an amazingly horrifying concept.
These kids went missing 60 years ago. Yet there would be traces of them here and there where they've interacted with the outside world. Like ghosts through time.
This could be the teaser. Then switch to live action, following a middle-aged detective as he desperately tries one last time to crack the cold case that's haunted him his entire career.
the irony is that this, could ACTUALLY work out, because maybe, this could tie into Learning with Pibby and this Cosmic Scooby could be an entity from the glitch doing it's own thing
@@Odilwerk yeah
THIS is the kind of "adult" Scooby-Doo we deserve, a good horror series. I wish I could give more likes.
Yessss
Scooby doo horror show is a thing that is so fitting
I desperately want a whole series of it. I'm thinking it should be kinda like love death and robots with every episode having a completely different animation style but following the same characters and they're endless torment
Fr like they always went for a kid friendly "spooky" vibe in the mysteries, I'd love to see them keep the essence of the characters while leaning way harder into the horror
@ijornhribrudkrvir All the makings are there, just take the scooby doo formula and make all the ghosts and monsters actual killers then add a psychological horror spin to it
If this was a movie that was released you'd be a billionaire. Bro the plot twist and the antagonist. It's truly beautiful a masterpiece.
this one single video has spawned a fanbase that the actual velma show couldn't have even remotely dreamed of making
True. It’s blown up ALL over the internet
And it's well deserved
For real 🤣
But the actual Velma show is meta 🤡 😂
Ugh🐕
The fact this animation made by an independant animator with limited funds has more mature contents and actual horror than the actual "adult show" is pretty telling on how today's cinema is getting out of touch about what makes a show good, this was a treat to watch
True👍
"a treat to watch" One could say it was a Scooby Snack to the eyes
Yup the concept of scooby being a literal godly entity

Or Higurashi, it's also the same premise with Rika
There’s one story called Black Dogs by Scary Story Time with Liam. It’s not exactly like this but there are some parallels. It is an audio creepypasta, though, so no creepy visuals like with this.
A shiver went up mine spine in the end
Reminds me of that Justice League episode titled "Legends" where this one very powerful being recreated the world before nuclear armageddon solely die to wanting to return to the "good ol' days"...
This was actually one of the best explanation as to why Scooby Doo kept changing. This was a beautiful masterpiece.
Did you watch mystery incorporated?
SPOILERS
They actually addressed scooby being able to talk (he’s an alien descendant) as well as transitioning into the original version of the show since it was a prequel.
This animation follows it really well because the gang could remember their old timeline while everyone else either forgot or had previously died.
she remembered
But, all of this because she ask a question 😰
The major hole with it however is the consistent Scooby-Doo straight-to-video films that drop every few years between new versions of the series though. They typically have the gang in their traditional looks and continue to center the brand of Scooby-Doo even when each new show tries a new style/look with a creative different direction.
@@dragonsurge1 wait, this is somewhat Canon? I never watched that one, can you tell me which episode?

No… sadly I’m… PRETTY sure it got renewed
After hearing what Scooby said to Velma, I love how at first he tried to act like a normal dog without being able to speak in order to remain inconspicuous and see if that way he could get his gang back, but he got desperate when he saw that velma suspected him anyway and then killing the gang on the spot, showing his deep frustration, like a kid destroying his legos trying to make the perfect model
Its really sad
Ummm....well this is actually very sad I mean......so
honestly his "I love you" sound so sad...poor little demon just want to hang with his gang again
Yeah. But didn’t we have any suspicions when we first watched scooby doo. How can he talk in the first place??? How can Velma only remember what happens and not the rest of the gang??? And how can he think he can act normal if he keeps the same collar and locks the same without the dots and look more realistic??? It’s almost the same as the blue theory. Our favorite childhood show. How can these dogs use powers? Are they gods from another world??? What are they? And how can they talk and grow fingers if they were normal dogs??? Answer the questions down below.⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
Why did he kill them the first time tho? He could just continue with them anyway, or tell them to stop worrying about it
The first scene is nightmare inducing, Scooby doo with the little eyes and standing on hind legs. I could also see a thing where Scooby doesn’t monologue but just says something short and kills her
why is this so intresting bro?😭
What's sad is it's always Velma that brings up Scooby's ability to talk. If he just remade everyone except for Velma the illusion would never break... But he loves her too. It isn't the same without her. So he keeps bringing her back, and they're trapped in this cycle.
13 Ghosts, Scooby + Scrappy Show, plus quite a few movies that were just Shaggy, Scrappy, and Scooby. He tried...But someone always remembers or questions...eventually. I can even see Scrappy being the one to ask the question b/c he's young, curious, and does the exact opposite of Shaggy and Scooby.
The sad thing is, he tried to overcome the talking issue in this version. He was just going to be a regular dog on their adventures.. But even when he didn't talk, he didn't unhinge his jaw, and he didn't do anything too strange, he was still found out because of velma.
This hurt me
He wouldn't have to remake the world if he just laughed it off.
It really is an amazing theory to think Velma is the reason why they keep changing the animation styles because she keeps questioning why scooby doo can talk.
I came here expecting to see one Velma insulting the other while the original gang stands to the side confused as heck. This was far better than anything I could’ve hoped for, and now I’m wishing it was a legit tv show. I would binge that so hard, you really have a gift!

Honestly it makes sense Velma would remember, she’s the smartest. And scooby being this dark near omnipotent being putting up a facade as their comic relief character makes you wonder, how did scooby integrate himself so well into their group without raising suspicion with his talking, it’s almost like he put into their mind “hey a talking dog Cool!” As a posed to “A talking dog? Wha- WTF!!” And him saying he loves them but can brutally murder them in a flash like deciding to throw away rotten food shows his love isn’t care it’s like a child playing with a favorite toy. When the toy breaks, might as well destroy it completely and get another version of it.sometimes the toy is better and sometimes the toy is an inferior version.but he will play with it all the same.
It’s essentially a twisted version of love. He loves them in the sense of the ideal versions of them that he wants frozen in amber forever. So once the cracks begin to show that will shatter his ideal world, he burns it all down to start anew hoping that this time that he’ll get it right and things will remain in perfect stasis. But each time, Velma ends up breaking the illusion, disappointing him and making him do it anew again. This honestly would make for a pretty good horror series
@@Omnislash7 It is the basis of some kinds of horror but often gets interpreted as the "horror of being controlled", nto the horror of being the object of a twisted love for an object.
Basically, he might be some sort of infohazard/cognitohazard. In other words, simply knowing about him or perceiving him makes 'talking dog' not sound unusual unless you REALLY think about it and question it. Velma may have resistance in part because she IS so smart, but every time she remembers, he restructures reality.
What I believe is that Scooby just wanted to have fun, to have friends, but he is afraid of them leaving him after noticing that he is not a normal dog, and then that fear makes him show the worst of himself, killing and reforming them every time

Cosmic horror isnt always easy to pull off. The speech pattern alone of scooby gives off such a eldritch vibe I love it.
