Thanks, I was considering one of these, now I know not to waste my money
picked one of these up on ebay for under $100 and it arrived today. works fine in my 2015 porsche cayman! didnt want to run wires and drill holes so this was a ideal solution for me. Just thought id share my experience if someone is on the fence following this review.
Great idea to have a car tech series, there are so many gadgets for cars now. How about a phone mount/charger comparison, I use the iOttie Auto Sense Wireless Charger/Mount.
That's the biggest POS I've seen in a long time. Awesome! Haha
You should try it on the front for a front view camera for close parking or off roading.
Good review as far as it went. Yes, you're absolutely right to dock them for missing advertised components.
Questions:
1) Can see snow outside in your video. What was the ambient temperature when you tested? You noted that the company says it's rated only down to 14°F.
2) OK, it's range limited. How about testing it placed in the car interior in front of the rear window? Bet you get better results which might be nice for those of us who want to hack this thing.
3) Android! You must have a friend with an Android phone that would be up for testing, yes?
4) So it has a significant startup lag. Maybe get it started up long before you need it?
Awesome review, particularly that you're here in Colorado! I saw this wireless backup camera on TV and was seriously considering buying one for my son's truck, but thank goodness I found your video review before I did that! Go Buff's!
FenSens seems more like NonSens
Like what you did there but ya its true
@@Chris-hw4mq haha mad
No duh!
i think a wired connection would have been great , seriously
@@carholic-sz3qv yes agree
I would have tested with cellular enabled for the app as it didnt have that much problem when you were first setting it up before you disabled it.
Cool lil gadget... Looks like it works ok ...thank you for video Alex
A refreshingly honest review. Much appreciated!
I was very close to buy one
Thanks man
If this had reliable connectivity, I could see this being perfect for mounting on a trailer as you said, and pairing it with an iPad or an inexpensive Android tablet to free up your phone would be nice. It would limit the market to those with a 7-pin trailer wiring harness, but a version of this that could run on the auxiliary power pin (and therefore not require an internal battery with thermal limits or a solar panel) with a pass-through connector would be logical, and probably lower the price. Perhaps a more powerful wifi transmitter/receiver could be used then, as well, with the increased amperage available to that hardwired setup.
If you test another one PLEASE check it on the front. I want a forward facing Trail Cam. thanks
I would have liked to seen you try it with an Android phone also
Does his iPhone have bluetooth 5 that's the important question
Works great on my android!
thanks for saving my money!
TFL real world review .... and that's why we subscribe to the channel.
I've seen other reviews of this product, the lag seems to be only with iPhone. But I won't buy one, instead looking at Swift Hitch SH04 for a trailer. Thanks for reviewing.
I just ordered me one yesterday and got it for $175US the 1080P camera. I guess I'll see it in 2 weeks
How'd it go?
@@Thirsty_jerome I got tired of waiting on delivery and got my money back. I found a rear view camera on Amazon for $30.00 and it works just fine.
I understand some people's hesitancy to get things hardwired into their car but if you are going to get a backup camera that's the best way to go and in some cases it might be cheaper than this product. I just scanned Best Buy real quick and you can get a decent backup camera that is hardwired anywhere from $80 to $200. There are also audio shops in just about every town that could put one in for you around the same price and it will work better. Personally, I just wouldn't really trust a bluetooth connection for something like this.
Thanks for a real review.
Sure glad I watched your video, I was getting ready to order one. I have a new Camaro with a front splitter which is low to the ground. Any suggestions on a wireless camera that might work. I live In California so we do run a front license plate. Thanks
Good review. Back to the drawing board.
Really appreciate the reviews. I'm glad i didn't waste the money
Shoulda tryed the KS61 parking lot next to best buy, that’s a terrible parking lot
What about front camera? It'll be closer to the phone.....
For trucks that off road and don't have a front camera and also for those of us with a huge front end, parking close to the car in front of you.
Thanks for the info. I also was thinking about my trailer, 28 ft, back bumper of trailer to pickup dash must be about 40 foot. Don’t sound promising does it? Definitely crap.
Exactly what I was thinking like this stuff needs to be quick and reliable otherwise I am just gonna use my eyes lol.
Wow when I first seen it would connect to your phone I was excited, but when I seen how it preformed I was not excited. Thanks for the review
In conclusion, if you're vehicle doesn't come with a back up cam don't go out and buy an aftermarket one. Great review Alex!
There are also a few with a wifi transmission signal that work better.
Why do they say don't use the blue tooth? thanks
Tape it to the inside of the rear window? Might work inside the car better.
Oh my. Baja Bob quality. Baja Bob should be used as a rating tool. If the product sucks it’s a Baja Bob.
Everyone keeps saying this has Bluetooth, but I thought that the guy said he turned his Wi-Fi on to get it to connect... I'm starting to wonder if that uses Wi-Fi or Bluetooth now...
Why isn’t there just a Bluetooth camera connected that you can switch out batteries for? Then you won’t have to take out half your car and risk breaking trim or clips.
Launch the app before you get to the parking lot
Buh-en. Lol
Overall, a good honest review. You saved me from buying it.
Good vid and the Warning ⚠️👍👍👍
As the owner of this American company, it saddens me to see such comments about a product that works perfectly fine for most people. You can check many other review videos of the product for BOTH iOS and Android and it works fine. I'm sorry Alex didn't get the answers he requested in regards to troubleshooting the product, it seems like he got a bad unit (Wifi chip or bad antennae for the lag and startup time) or had outdated software, which is covered under warranty by our company. If anything this is a failure in customer service from our product team responding to his questions more than anything and I apologize for that. As far as the location tracking is concerned, that is not actually TRACKING and RECORDING your location, it's simply accessing this information as part of a BLE beacon protocol (This could probably be explained better in FAQ). Why do you say? Well, Bluetooth beacons require you to be in close proximity to your car and we use that as an auto-launch feature to pop-up the camera feed faster through the TAP QuickLaunch button. And, please, if you have negative opinions, I don't care to hear them if you haven't tried the product, Alex's feedback is a different story since he is a professional reviewer and played around with one of our samples. I already gleaned the information that matters from this professional reviewer and any actual user's feedback. Thanks for taking the time to check out the product, Alex, and I am sorry we failed you with answering your support issues and troubleshooting questions that you had prior.
For reference: Here is another review where it works perfectly fine--> czcams.com/video/7amacEYrVO0/video.html
Another iOS review today and it works just fine: czcams.com/video/2yEBy7H3_ww/video.html
And another iOS review czcams.com/video/R2Ebs8sdWVM/video.html
SO WITH 2 GOOD REVIEWS, YOU ARE AT %70 PERCTNT...??? DIDNT ADDRESS THE MISSING PARTS. IF ALEX GOT A DEFECTIVE UNIT, WAS HE OFFERED A REPLACEMENT FOR AN IMPROVED REVIEW???
whats the legality of covering some of your plate info?
I tried a different wireless rear camera that had its own monitor and it was crap too.. worked 1/4 try’s and quit completely after 2 weeks.. 🤷🏻♂️ it was about $250 of Amazon. I returned it. Go wired if you want reliability 👍
Good idea about the trailer
Good for hooking up trailers but that’s about it.
Liked the review but hated all of the background music. If you keep the music in the future please turn it down more.
I know in Arizona, technically it would be illegal with covering the state name like it does in your install.
I live in Texas, and was thinking the same thing.
it's Not garbage it does work but apple cause it not to work
there's a way to make automatically open the App this using the *Shortcut settings* you have to give the app permissions to open the app when pressed
Does that use bluetooth 5 my earphones have that and theres 0 lag
Doesn't work at all, but tracks you with pinpoint accuracy🤔. Great review. I'll keep looking for a camera for my trailer.
You should’ve left the cellular data on
wish they'd sell something like this for european license plates.
So who’s kid is this
I like the tech series reviewing vehicle accessories but I would like them more at around 10 minutes run time.
Thank you for the review so I don’t waste my money on junk
I would like something like this for the back of my travel trailer. Anyone got something that works well? The camera would be about 55 feet from the drivers seat.
As for this POS, why would a company send something out that was so poor?
I want one as well. My total length is around 40 feet.
Maybe there is one that have an antenna that you can put on the roof of the trailer closer to the car?
I have a Swift Hitch SH01 Portable Wireless Camera System I bought from Amazon in 2011. I mounted the cam on the back of my trailer for backing into tight spots. The reception is mostly ok in the cab of my Silverado. The distance to the back of the trailer is about 30' from the cab. The position of the cam is tricky however and the cam antenna has to be visible from the cab. With my box trailer, this meant mounting the cam on the edge of the back. The lens does allow me to see the entire rear of the trailer. It might be possible to mount the cam on the roof of the trailer at the back edge. Since you have to charge the batteries in the cam periodically, reaching the cam without a ladder is important to me.
@@rik999 Thanks for the info. Looks like they brought out an updated version so I will check the reviews on Amazon and see if it may work.
Pass. Just get a wired version with a dedicated monitor.
I see their Chinese tracking software works perfectly!!!
Nice to see Alex doing a vid again 😀.....although its for Fens sense nonsense 🤣
At least it came in a nice box
It must use Bluetooth? Too far for that to work
Ya probably old last gen bluetooth 5 is the best
Crap for sure. Thanks for sharing Alex. No security screws & you don't get what you pay for.
Junk! Saved us from falling for that rip-off. Thank you for the review.
You will get a ticket in florida because the solar panel covers up the state .
What a piece of crap. Thank you for saving me from buying it and losing money. Is there one of those out there that really works?
I have a feeling this is an iphone thing. Its too bad you didnt try it on an android as well. That would of rounded put this review.
Put this guy on if u need to sleep😴😴
you can mount that thing behind your office chair.
Looks like a chinesium version of another companies' product. You see it all the time - great concept, cheap knockoff.I was going to say should have also been tested on an Android phone, but that app screams sketch as it is.
This review was embarrassing for that company...
im miata mike I really don’t think they care ... if they did something so shitty would never go out to the market. The most basic testing would make it fail QA
they sould have used wired connection it would have been very reliable
Apparently Fensens doesn't know that obscuring any part of your plate (like COLORADO) can be a fast $200 fine in some US states. Check your state laws for ANY frame.
Don't say it doesn't work! It does! If you stand right behind your car...
I bet could have the same experience with a $5 part on Alibaba.
Did you really test such a product without testing on Android 🙄
Ya need open software or less strick OS for that doe I nothing about phone's only android
Why ? If you get a bad backup camera and it doesn’t work on your ford are you gonna test it on a Chevy ? 🤷♂️
@@emi123nem but it could be working good with Android, and i think a full CZcams video for reviewing a product like this had to be a real full review.
Mahmoud Fouad it makes absolutely no difference it’s simply limitations of WiFi and hardware used, to get the claimed battery life the WiFi radio has to be extremely low power for a demanding application ... utterly stupid design to begin with... he also said it would be crappy product regardless based on the quality of support and missing hardware. Also android has way to much variance in products and it could very well work fine on one phone and completely bust on another. Using iPhone usually provides more consistent results
And, it blocks the States name on the license plate. A violation of most Traffic regulations.
wireless usually never works properly
POS...
YOU SAVED ME A BUCK I was looking to get one.
What garbage 😂😂 Why did they send this to TFL to be broadcasted on CZcams without working out all the issues first? 😂😂
I therefore conclude that this Product is a total GARBAGE.. but your review is awesome!
FenSens no longer exists and there is no support of any kind for those who unfortunately invested in a hopeless gadget ..
I wonder why a company would send out a product for review which is so totally useless. I guess one thing is that anybody that gives this other than a bad review is a problem.
Advise. Actually use it first then review it. Your all over the place.
Guys and gals, always do research before buying. Items like these are out there and people are getting screwed and scammed.
You tried multiple times, but you haven't tried using Android device 👎
Thank you for this great video this is a piece of crap I won’t be buying
No good .
Thanks Alex. Unreal. TOO much $ for such a POS gadget. Glad you are checking into these things saving me the headache of buying lame junk. lol And the fact they are jacking the price up more is ludicrous. Please find a good one for me. :)
To bad it sucked . I was hoping that it would work. I was going to ask about ,would it work with Apple CarPlay stereo
My gosh, that device is horrible. I just purchased a Auto-Vox Solar Wireless Kit and it works great. I'm using it for my small RV, as a backup camera and it's really good. Check this one out as the one you are testing now, to me, doesn't work very well.
Auto-Vox Solar Wireless Backup Camera Kit, 5 Mins DIY Installation Backup Camera Wireless, 5-inch Monitor and HD Image Rear View Camera for Cars and Medium Sized Vehicles.
Put it all in the box Shipped it back get you’re refund. Send a lowest review this thing is Crap.
An extremely good review of such a garbage product. Thanks for saving us from this crap.
Lol what a joke but a good idea!
auto vox solar 1 is better
That's an absolute piece of trash!!!
Crap. Would of been good for an RV . Let's wait a few years.
Crap!!!!
Ha. What a joke
I didn’t have to watch the whole to see it’s 💩
A discovery SUV + iPhone + wireless backup camera = A bunch of crap you purchased.
Iphone is complicated device👎
It's crap
Junk
Good idea! Very, very poorly executed! Maybe it works better on an android. But why are they tracking you? No need in that BS. Aren't we tracked enough?
