- Everyone has at some point, watched the Transformers - whether it be the tv series or the movies. While the robots and all their powers and transformations are definitely fascinating, some of the characters have etched themselves in the minds of generations of fans. This video is about arguably the evilest and most sadistic Decepticon to ever grace, or darken, the franchise - any guesses? It is none other than Starscream!
Starscream has featured in almost all Transformers properties and is a widely appreciated character. It is because of his popularity that we will focus only on the movies and animated series because the character has such extensive lore that it would become a 3-hour long video if we went into all the nitty-gritties. The only thing that always perplexed me about Starscream is how anybody, literally anybody, believed and-or trusted him at all. He was almost the physical embodiment of lies, cruelty, and betrayal itself.

@@That80sGuy1972 Actually G1 Starscream continues to haunt the Transformers franchise to this day. He has a mutant spark that makes him immortal even without a body.
@@SuperboyLilly Great point and I know. Unicron's partially restored head just materialized him a body at one point. That means his spark is related to material form and tangible in some aspect. So, disintegration technology would obliterate him if done to him in physical form or while he was inside a physical object/being. That would be an extremely huge boom, like at least a 99.99% matter-to-heat exchange unless vented to subspace, but it would work. Disintegration technology involves removing all intrinsic field cohesion. That causes all matter to fly apart and imposes maximum entropy upon all energy. It would not actually allow a Dr. Manhattan to happen (where his brilliance in the field let HIS "spark" survive that), it would just scramble things before scattering them and early in the scattering.
So, that same "lazy writing" thing that Unicron did to just spawn Starscream a new body could also be applied to permanently end him via disintegration technology.
And that’s a decepticon
I would pay good money to see Starscream get his own movie.

I suspect Chris Latta's portrayal is what made the character so popular to begin with.
Strarscream's signature voice (via Chris Latta) & constant efforts to overthrow Megatron made for an episode within itself. His brief ascension to the throne in the Transformers animated movie was epic! The G1 series did him justice, whereas the film series was underwhelming when representing his character. Starscream is a staple in Transformers lore & will rise again someday?!!
I sure miss Chris Latta! The original Starscream and Cobra Commander!

I’m gonna say this about Starscream. He has been known to challenge Megatron outright (all be it sneaky but deceptions gona decept). SS his weapon is the null ray it disrupts electronics for 2 min. Megatron has a fusion canon. Starscream to challenge Him like that takes balls.

And the IDW Comics the other Decepticons reactivated Starscream because he was the only one that had balls enough to challenge Megatron.
He's incompetent and competent at the same time. It's as if Megatron beat the true potential out of him millions of years ago.

One of the biggest unspoken truths of Megatron and Starscream rivalry is that Starscrean can actually BEAT megatron in straight up fight.
Megatron has NO anti-air weapons in tank mode. His only chance is to stay in robot mode and shoot him down with his fusion cannon. But Starscream can fire his missiles from HALF A MILE AWAY,
Megatron's cannon doesn't have that range.
It's strange that this hasn't come up before.

I cannot belive you forgot he was in Bumblebee on the Cybertron intro. Shockwave ordered him to destroy the launch bay and we see Starscream together with Skywarp and Acidstorm do just that.

I always loved the episode in Prime show when Megatron entered his memories and tried to reason with him what he did in two seasons was wrong and only seek for power though Starscream still had feew issues in season 3 but finally he became loyal Decepticon Megatron may bad guy but some of his words are very wise and reasonable
It's clearly one of the best episode in the show. And also one of my favorite !
after 2 season he came to his senses and realised he can't win. so he cut his loses and stayed loyal from then on.
Considering Starscream is Megatron's punching bag it's no wonder why Starscream wants to overthrow him.

Starscream was the most effective Deception in the first movie. And then was treated as a joke afterwards.
What I found funny about starscream was that he made shockwave walk out of the room😂 this was during the scene where starscream turned the doctor cyborg in the g1 episode where he planned to blow up earth using the dorctors “unlimited power source”.

At 16:23 when you’re talking about starscream in beast wars, blackarachnia wasn’t working with optimus. Optimus broke free and then released dinobot from a recovery chamber to take back their base from the predicons. Blackarachnia had been taken on as a protege by starscream, who fled leaving her to the maximals.
I think engine one in countdown to Extinction blowing up the Earth to collect the energy from that destruction was the most ruthless plan he ever had.
Isn’t there a comic where Megs beats the shit out of Starscream. He doesn’t let Megs stop. He just takes the beating. When Megs is done, Starscream says a speech to him on why he should kill him. It’s very sad and it makes you feel bad for him. It’s like a little brother wanting to be like big bro.

Could you maybe cover the Comic Series „Once and Future“ ? It’s amazing. It’s like Hellboy and Grimm mixed with the Legend of King Arthur . Bloody, dark, sometimes funny but most of the time badass brutal. For example a huge Barbarian riding on a gigantic fire breathing Lion chasing a Car while rhe protagonists (A guy and his grumpy but badass Grandma) are trying to fight him with MG. And King Arthur as the undead main Antagonist is just bonechilling.

I loved how they expanded on starscream and skyfire’s backstory in shattered glass, that doesn’t happen often and I like the depth it gives them being ex friends. I wish they would do that in the normal transformers or even mention it but apparently they forgot or something.

Armada Starscream will always be my favorite, since Armada was the first Transformers show that I saw.
There was this one comic, I can't remember the name, but it was dark comic about Starscream showing how he'd become depressed and wanted to kill himself bc of all of Megatron's abuse but he was too scared so he yelled insults at him. Megatron beated him so badly he was hanging on to life by a thread and megatron turned to verbal abuse to torture Starscream

Starscream always one said cowards do survive is one of my favorite Decepticons same thing for his two brothers Thundercracker and skywarp them to have different abilities in the video game and the video game that I used to play on Xbox 360 all three of them did have this same skin vehicle whatever you want to call it skywarp had a invisibility Thundercracker Thunder crackers ability but I think it was a turn in and get the mini gun and then Starscream had it a different ability back then and then he changed it to invincibility but yeah I have a lot of favorites of the Decepticons and the Autobots definitely going to get more action figures of getting them all
