- We have explored a fair amount of the Transformers franchise on this channel. It in itself is one of the best-known franchises that emerged out of toy lines. The war between good and evil is the central concept in this series as the good guys, the Autobots, go to war with the Decepticons to defend humanity.
This video is about the leader of the Decepticons, the worst of villains and the scariest of foes, Megatron. Megatron is probably the strongest Decepticon and all his followers see him as the leader who gives them purpose, embodying the Decepticon cause. I like this detail that Bayverse Megatron's hated for humanity comes from the fact that he was experimented on by humans who considered him as nothing more than any other machine.
When life wants you to suffer, only the few make through it.
Megatron is an excellent example that nothing has the power to determine his fate. He developed, became wiser, stronger, faster and most importantly he has the strongest will (out of all Cybertronians), that's why he achieved so much.
I will always love him.

One thing that I appreciate now but hated as a kid was how Megatron got 'weaker' in the live action movies. At the time, I didn't realize that what happened to him was actually very logical. He was fixed up with made in china parts in ROTF and as a result, got his ass handed to him and in DoTM, he never fully recovered which made sense why he couldn't fight that effectively. In the end, he never really got weaker as when he finally got a decent body in AoE and TLK, he still had his strength and was able to fight Optimus as an equal. The best part is how his character developed. It was nice to see him go from a goal blinded character to considering other options as the movies go by
Also, can we all agree that TFP Megatron is the best Megatron?

Galvatron is a shift I hated as an almost adult kid. I did like the new form, from pistol to cannon. I hated the new name and it's "need" for it. I'm glad that Megatron is Megatron again and Galvatron was just a phase, like Prince not being Prince during his insane years.
Prince didn't do the symbol because of his nutty nature. He did it because he was in a legal dispute with his record label and wasn't allowed to use his own name

He could have just changed his stage name to what is on his birth certificate, made up a new name, tweaked his old one, etc... but insanely just make it that pseudo ankh was just asinine level insane. So... I ain't movin', my friend. I love his work, his style, his genius, him in general... but that symbol for a name, I'm not giving him any props for that insanity.

I liked the original ending of DOTM better before it was cut. When Megatron is tired of fighting and offers a genuine truce, which Optimus reluctantly agrees to. Then Megatron leaving back to Cybertron to rebuild it
I honestly think he was on point for his own rule... he did it for his race ... technically like a Roman that was a slave and finally got into politics... so technically wouldn't the autobots be the rebels ? Because they're not about cybertron they're more for earth ....so more eye of the beholder...
If Orion Pax knew the suffering his brother went though, he would've tried to convince him that violence is not always the answer. I also believe if Megatron overthrew the corrupt government of Cybertron, he wouldn't have to fear becoming a slave again. Can you also do the shattered glass transformers?
He went to the counsel and ASKED to take it over by FORCE, he wasn’t Afraid of becoming again he just wanted to be the one enslaving everybody else.

he's a great villian but I was a bit sad that you only covered him in the later series & not of the Unicron series trilogy (Armada, Energon, Cybertron) because it has a good arc of the story .
More importantly, the iconic Beast Wars series wasn't even mentioned & to me, that is a sin. that show gave us so much lore & one ,if not the best version of Megatron

Plus it doesn't factor in Earthrise which connects Galvitron and both Megatrons. You have solid point, but in a half hour video about megatron this focused a lot on the weaker entries in the series
I feel like this video should've looked more to Earthrise and the Roosterteeth series as well. skipped over a lot of good history.
SMH.... I've never seen Breast Wars. (Yes that's a typo but I'm leaving it in). I just remember thinking "Those aren't real Transformers."
I just checked the Wiki for the dates, and it backs me up on this: "Though reviled by many Transformers fans when it first hit the airwaves in 1996, Beast Wars is now considered by many to be among the finest examples of Transformers storytelling, striking a happy balance between character, humor, and story."
Tl;Dr I need to watch Beast Wars.
Hugo Weaving is the best Megatron in my opinion, that deep gritty voice fits the evil character so much.
He is known as N.B.E. 1 because of this as a sworn enemy of the cybertron war as he got frozen in thousands of years.

To me Megatron's story leading up to G1 basically is Cybertron's version of Spartacus. A Slave/Gladiator rises up and leads a rebellion to overthrow the Ruling Class. Another good and interesting video, Thanks.

I actually don't hate Megatron, if anything, the Autobots annoy me more, especially after the Prime Origin story. His cause is something I can get behind, abolishing the Cybertronian Caste System and granting equality to all, and it some universes the revival of the homeland. Also all they wanted in G1 was booze, so 👌

After finding this out awhile ago it changed my complete view of Megatron born a slave and ment to die as one for what reason? just because" the primes had it coming but on the flip side holding that power has to have responsibility with it and that is what he really lacks

Honestly I don't see Megatron as a villain yes he did evil things but his motivation wasn't. I feel the same way about magneto. They wanted the same thing as their adversary but went about it in the wrong (violent) way. I personally see MLK and Malcolm X in the two stories

Megatron is clearly a Villain, as is Magneto to be honest.
Megatron had good intentions, altho there was always an evil side in him. But as soon as he got into a Position where he could actually change things, he bought into his own Hype and Ego, plus his Lust for power. When Orion proposed a peaceful change, Megatron flatout rejected it, he wanted War. He then killed Orion for simply proposing a different solution than his.
As for Magneto, sure what he did endure as a Kid was horrible. But he literally turned into the thing he hated most. He hated the Nazis because they looked down on Jews and saw them as lesser people, even going as far as attempted Genocide. What lesson Magneto took from this? Become the Leader of a evil Faction who views Humans as lesser people and on several occassions attempt Genocide against them. Magneto literally turned into Hitler, the man took the completly wrong lessons from his Life experiences.

In transformers 2 the Fallen appeared to be weakened when he was on life support I have a crazy theory. What if the Fallen actually wanted Megatron to get the Allspark so it could be used to restore back the power he had when he fought his brothers? What if the Fallen was kept for latter films and kept scheming in the background collecting his power patiently waiting to strike would he team up with Quintessa after he senses Unicron starting to awaken he always hated Earth this gives him another reason to drain its life.
You would think with having Orion Pax as his bestie. When he became a Prime, he could’ve just voiced his problems to Optimus Prime.

I hate how Optimus and the Autobots have plot armor. So many times, Megatron is superior and he only loses because the Autobots have to win. He is far superior to Optimus in so many ways. He's not a "people person" like Optimus, but he's helluva stronger. Heck, he's a gladiator.
In terms of the Bayverse, I'm so annoyed they just beat him in the 5th movie. That was his strongest form. And yes, he was severely outnumbered, but still kicked their ass.

he's such a great villain. I like how he crash landed on earth like an idiot, is the reason humans have technology good enough to fight transformers which isn't written in some ironic or artistic way, the way he was kept as a pet by humans, the way he doesn't ever give any commands to decepticons, the way he arrives on the scene and makes all the autobots scared ahhhh!... and then proceeds to grab the baby sized autobot and flies off kills him... great just great. the way he beats up optimus prime who you could remove from the movie and it would be literally no different. the way he fails to catch a human on foot despite being a living jet who could have landed on him, and being almost 6 times taller. I like the way he could have grabbed the allspark several times and didn't like a dumbass.

what's that starscream guy doing? airstriking autobots, shutting down power to sector 7 saving megatrons dumbass, defeating 3 autobots with strategy, comprimising the human reinforcement armored weaponized vehicles by destroying some in his airstrike, taking out 3 of the same jets that killed blackout and crippled megatron in a few seconds and takinga missile from one to the thinnest part of his body no issue while in the air without being knocked down. goddamn he's so so accurate to the original character wow.

Could you maybe cover the Comic Series „Once and Future“ ? It’s amazing. It’s like Hellboy and Grimm mixed with the Legend of King Arthur . Bloody, dark, sometimes funny but most of the time badass brutal. For example a huge Barbarian riding on a gigantic fire breathing Lion chasing a Car while rhe protagonists (A guy and his grumpy but badass Grandma) are trying to fight him with MG. And King Arthur as the undead main Antagonist is just bonechilling
What does that have to do with this? Granted that King Arthur and his knights of the round table had prior involvement in the 5th Transformers movie, but that's not the main focus here
