    But when gear is up, with 150% rates the steering servo and arm seem to have translation issues by way of to much and popping on extreme translations, I noticed on all my edf's. Also some of the edfs I own I can not get away with 150% rates, because the linkages will collide with fixed surfaces, also depends on hole authority servo's and control horns used. So I have to always check, and make sure no issues far as those matters. I was gonna say nice Delta, also FMS makes sturdy landing gear.

    • @TwoBrosRC

      Sturdy gear but less than ideal linkage systems, unfortunately.

  • @squibblejack
    @squibblejack Pƙed rokem

    So maybe mixing the nose gear steering to rudder, when their is enough receiver ports, and maybe you can get away with 150% rudder, and turn the steering mix slaving to the rudder down to normal. I like it when their is enough ports to assign steering to its own channel, and the dial knob, for fine running the taxi alignment straight. If you are having problems with that. I know I do not like the popping I see when I was using 150% rudder throw, on the steering.

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  Pƙed rokem +1

      We didn't shoot a setup vid for this jet. Simply put, we haven't had time to make setup videos anymore with the upload schedule we keep to. We may find a way to do it again in the future. For now what we'd recommend is to fly it stock - unless you really want to push it the way we do, stock is more than enough. If you don't want to fly it stock, you'll have to unscrew the wood tongue holding the black box and Reflex gyro in place and wire everything in manually, then program the receiver to function the way you'd prefer it to. It's not a simple task and unfortunately can't be easily explained in text.

  • @FFE-js2zp

    The Mustang II’s split flaps under the fuse are a cool feature. I think those bounces are the rwy condition.
    Just from watching, I dunno know that I share your high praise for the jet in the air. It looks like it has really good pitch control, but it rolls hard right as the wing approaches critical AOA.
    One aerobatic test I always do is an elevator only, tight loop to see if a plane changes heading with straight back elevator. I think this plane would exit at least 90 degrees off of the entry heading with a straight pull. That can be really hard to solve. It’s also a risk of departure in the pattern final turn, either nosing down and into a slow right base, or reversing to a right spin on a slow left base.
    A “roller” is AF slang for any jet that rolls in one direction at high AOA. Sometimes it’s caused from flying in a constant state of slip: so the ailerons are over-trimmed opposite some similar amount of opposite direction rudder trim. At high AOA, like at the slower speed top of a loop, the rudder becomes more effective than the ailerons, and so the rudder trim starts to dominate the aileron trim. The hard thing is if it’s not trim, but out of square basic airframe alignment.
    So you might try aileron trimming a little to the right, plus rudder trimming a little to the left, to see if you can get it to pull all the way through an aggressive loop on-heading.

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  Pƙed rokem +1

      That'll be something to look into when I get back from NH. Appreciate the info. Unfortunately a lot of the jet models do roll during accelerated stalls, so that might be the root issue too

    • @FFE-js2zp
      @FFE-js2zp Pƙed rokem

      @@TwoBrosRC
      All airframes will roll as one wing inevitably stalls before the other based on airflow perturbations or slight uncoordination upon stalling. Some great aerobats have a dynamic stability that self-corrects without ruining overall purity. But in theory, if the airframe is perfectly square, and none are, the asymmetry in each stall situation should be random. So it’s a matter of degree with each plane. The degree will run from zero tendency to stall the same side wing before the other (perfect build) to 100% of the time one side drops first (bent build). I would call this one bent because I think the right wing always drops well before the left. But obviously I am only watching not flying, so I defer to your actual experience.

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  Pƙed rokem +1

      @@FFE-js2zp It could just be this particular airframe. I actually don't mind a predictable roll, makes it easier to plan where it will depart to.
