Have had some bad eye strain lately. Been struggling to read and getting headaches. So I made an appointment for an eye exam. The exam went well. But I also got some bad news from the Doctor.
I spent some time shopping new Oakley glasses frames because I’d rather not keep using my Warby Parker glasses. The Warby Parkers are well made but don’t fit well. Then I went to IKEA to buy some much needed pillowcases. And then made a nice simple dinner of mashed potatoes and vegetables with curry gravy.

💡I have suffered migraines since I was a child so I have compassion & empathy for people who suffer migraines. A few years ago i figured out that I have a gluten issue & I keep a food diary and have discovered some ingredients and foods that trigger migraines for me, so I stay away from those items. It’s more work, but it’s worth it not to have a migraine. Wishing you the best. 💝
Scott, think about getting a spare pair of glasses sooner than later. We never know what's down the line and how hard it will be to get a new pair! Sounds like you have a plan - don't wait too long- just a thought-

Another option - you can have temples adjusted tighter or more loose or even new temples longer or shorter….
Those aviators look fantastic on you. I can’t say enough about aviators; to me they are universally flattering. My other go-to style in glasses frames is the frameless.because they don’t distract your vision.
Smart man wants to travel and not pay a mortgage or high bills. This is why he like his Van Life style.

Just wanna say Scott I'm a big fan of Zenni. About a month ago I purchased prescription sunglasses from them for $53 Canadian! Not long ago I watched a 60 minutes segment on how the glasses/contacts industry is such a scam. Mostly a complete monopoly owned by one company out of Italy. Oh btw this Italian company also ownes Oakley and Ray Ban as well.
I haven't been to Seattle yet and haven't driven through since motorcycling up to British Columbia many years ago. Glad things went well for you in the city. I love your sense of humor. I just returned to Sacramento from South Lake Tahoe and loved the Nevada side more. Not a lot of dispersed camping but casino parking lots like Hard Rock Cafe and Bally's are places to "park". Beautiful wooded campsites are very reasonable for seniors and veterans at 50% off...like $20 vs $40 plus the lake is within a short distance.

Quite honestly, I've never heard of soy-free eggs, and I frequent health food stores. I'm surprised, because this city has had good health/alternative food available for a long time.

Glad you got your glasses situation resolved. Most of the time contacts work but sometimes glasses are a necessity. Hope it works out well.
Yes you can buy them n when you up grade on your vision again you can use the same frame.

My daughter and I have both gotten Zennis. Mine are progressive, high power lenses and the progressives were perfect. No redo or adjustments necessary. My eye doc was totes cool giving me the measurements I needed to put my order in. I'm thoroughly satisfied.
You've got a good sense of humor Scott! I paid $1000 for my glasses (that's not a typo). That's because I need both near and far sighted plus thinning the lens and tinting for sun protection. Still that's high and I'm going to try to find them cheaper next time.

I feel your pain. My last pair from a brick and mortar optical store was $800. Zenni was about $150 for all the bells and whistles (progressive, transition tinting, thin, high power, all the coatings).
I paid $12 for mine on Zenni. They’re awesome.

Glad you got the exam and the contacts all in one so that you aren’t stuck waiting around. I agree with you 100% on bifocals my prescription 3 years ago was for bifocals and they sit in my nightstand while I wear my old Warby Parker frames glasses for reading.
I was shocked they had contacts in stock. It was a very nice experience.
Wow, the same thing was happening to me at the beginning of summer. My eyes went bad fast. For the first time in my 50s I went to an eye doctor. I can see again.

White eggs make me sick I can only eat brown eggs but if I have to eat white eggs I put red cynenne pepper on them it cuts out the sick feeling it also works for any sick upset st tummy problems❤️❤️❤️❤️
I am over 60 and when I was working at over 60 before I retired at work I was using data on my job, reading 3/8" characters from a 19" monitor from 24" away. My distance vision has always been great. I do use 1.25 reading glasses sometimes. Eye health is very important.
Nice time to be up there in the nice weather. Whenever there I like to get fresh salmon, cod, seafood to eat.. so good. Good vid, wish I cld try that coffee tho.. glad u had a good turnout on things!
You look good in any of the frames. I use elastic bands all the time to close bags, but I use a few at a time.

I just did some checking and of all things my Walmart here in Lima Ohio has a brand called happy egg organic eggs they're brown eggs and they're $5.68 a dozen

So umm, at my age I need the blood to keep flowing thru cleaned-out tubes.....you know what I mean??? I can't afford to have a heart-attack or stroke. ☺

I won't even say a word about eye care. lol It does suck as we age. Many have a few pair of "readers" scattered around.
Luckily for now, all I needed was a good eye doctor fitting me with the correct contact lenses. I've had no trouble reading with the new contacts.

I would go nuts living the static van life.
I use rubber bands on frozen veg that I've opened when I put them back in the freezer. I save and use the fatty rubber bands they put on asparagus and leeks etc.

I always go to America's Best! Love it! I get 2 pairs for price of one and I do get the bifocals without the line and for my second pair i get sunglasses with only distance vision and perfect for driving..next time I might just get bifocals for the sunglasses too as when I look down at the speedometer it's a little fuzzy...live and learn.lol! Wish I was able to wear contacts..

Hi Scott! Nice to see you again today. I was thinking about those headaches and it could have been from msg or other ingredients in the food you were eating there. Also if the problem continues and it’s not because of the new contacts, you may want to shield your eyes with the blue blockers for all the blue light. Just a suggestion. I was thinking that Seattle would be great and now I’m seeing it’s not. Hopefully you found something by now that suits your needs. It’s good to see that you are set and have the little bugs worked out. Before you showed the after reorganization of your backpacks, I had already seen it in my mind. Good job! I get that with sea salt, I've tried different times. And yup, it would give me headaches, the Himalayan pink too. Many products, I see are adding the sea salt.🙄
It seems that getting a contact lens fitting from an Ophthalmologist is important. My past experience shows that it’s less likely to get a prescription that fits properly from an Optometrist. But that’s just my opinion.
Yes, Seattle is very different now. There are still some nice aspects of the city though.

I've had bifocals for years and have no problem with them but did need the bifocals upgraded recently even though my eyes hadn't changed. I was having problems with reading and the new lenses fixed that.
Hope you have luck with Americaß Best , because I bought 2 pairs, advertised for 79.95… But when they where thur with me ,they charged me almost $600. So I told this is to much,they brought it down a $ 100. Came back to get them, couldn't see right,took back,they gave me wrong Script! So they took off 50% So ends up I paid $219. 4 2 pairs& very nice frames!

I use America’s Best and their eye doctors are always nice. I have progressives and they work well (a little pricey but worth not having to take glasses off to read) 🤓

Hi Scott. Great idea to get a new pair of glasses. Since I am in prison the state gives me them for free. I lost one eye in the shower after being stabbed. I pray to god it doesn’t happen again because then glasses won’t help me. Stay safe love your content

Glad you got the glasses figured out. I think that is a pretty good price for it. I couldn't just open a pillowcase and use it. I have to wash anything new I get first, they usually have a funky smell. As always travel safe. 🧘🙏🏻🌎☮️

I use Readers, and usually I get them at Dollar Tree, they are fine, they work! LOL! But I did find some at Grocery Outlet one time for around $3. they had a case that came with them, and were Foster Grants...

If you do go the Oakley route or some other maker the aviators were my fav on you followed by the first ones you tried on for us. Just an fyi..I am so envious and miss being able to wear contacts though mine are , rather were very strong toric kind for someone with a stigmatism like myself and very expensive even with vision insurance .Anyway around 5 years ago or so the last contacts I got stung so bad so they ordered me another brand and I had the same stinging and gritty feeling which I heard most likely was the start of dry eyes.
So that was my last purchase of contacts and i could rarely wear them then..
I haven't been able to wear them still. Well my health went down hill too so it's not that big of a deal to wear my no line bifocals aka progrrssives glasses because I'm home all the time except for doctor's appointments.. I am not complaining, just reminding you to enjoy contacts while you can because as we age this dry eye thing really effects alot of people unft.Im way overdue on my optical exam.Its just funny you mentioned this.(( no not literally)...OK on to watch the rest of your video..Safe travels Scott.
Why don't you try and fold the wings of the binder clip down over the item you have clipped and see if that prevents the clip from falling off.

2. I have progressive lenses because reading labels at the grocery store and knitting and sewing were causing eye strain. Progressive bifocals are quite expensive, however, I wasn't ready to look like a granny. 😁
3. Just a thought, it's a good idea to have some glasses that work for you in case of eye infection or injury - I used to wear contacts.

Oddly, I don’t care about appearing to be old to others. My gray hair already gives away my advanced age. I just don’t like wearing glasses. Haha

I've never used America's Best, but many friends & family have shared with me about bad experiences with them. Hope it all turned/turns out well for you though. I've mainly used Walmart optical in my hometown with no problems..... yet.
Edit: see you ended up at Lens Crafters! If you choose them later I bet they'll be great 👍
It sounds like you haven't watched the entire video yet. America's Best has been one of the best experiences I've had. Lens Crafters has been the worst experience for me on several occasions.

The Oakley store sent me to Lens Crafters. The Oakley store was very nice but mostly had sunglasses. LensCrafters wasn’t nearly as friendly. Maybe they were busy. I don’t know.
What is your prescription? Ive been having issues with contacts so updated mine and turns out my prescription changed quite a bit. I used payne glasses and got a pair of aviator sunglasses with my prescription and a pair of regular glasses but with blue light blocking lenses for super cheap!!! I always wore Armani and oakley before but tired of scratching and ruining expensive glasses

Federal Way, yeah lol, I stayed in the worst hotel/motel I've ever seen, Skyway Inn. I had a run in with some tweakers, oh that place was bad. All because I wanted to save a few bucks. I learned my lesson, that's for sure.
Federal Way is scetch but I do like the Jack in the Box on the corner down by the airport.

The Aviator glasses are cool! I am really disappointed that you walked right past a Bath & Body Works and didn't take the time to shop and browse.
