I have two kids, one in his 20s and the other a teenager. This song has caused me to bawl my eyes out.
This song means something to you, it means you're doing something right dude. Keep it up
same. I can't listen to it without crying (2 boys, 13 and 11)
The best band on the planet right now. Absolutely superior in every aspect: composition, playing, lyrics, production, live performance. It's a good time to be alive.
I feel like it's been that way for a long time now. Lol.
Bill Stevenson likes this
YES!
you probably dont care but if you guys are bored like me atm you can stream all the new series on InstaFlixxer. Been watching with my gf for the last few days xD
@@izaiahedwin3038 Stop spamming my comments with scam site bullshit.
I'm scared to admit how many times I've listened to this song. But what a wonderful feeling to be addicted to a song! The music, lyrics, and especially the vocal phrasing! Completely amazing. Propagandhi is the best band, period.
That last sentence of your comment is the truest statement ever made. EVER.
They always close their records so well. This song, Purina hall of fame, Iteration... Just perfect.
Refusing to Be A Man too.
Duplicate Keys Icaro!
This is the best punk rock song released in the past 20 years
this is why i love this band.... they evolve. they keep to their sound but evolve. beautiful.
Exactly. And most fans have been there for every moment of it. Love Prop, always will.
This is my first ever comment on CZcams... and I'll make it about how great this song is! On so many levels, this song is important. I'll be playing it on repeat forever. I'm excited to see what our keepers have planned!
I keep on liking comments; yes, you are not alone.
Love this band, love this album. Adventures in Zoochosis is my favorite song on the album and every time I listen to it it brings tears to my eyes - lyrics have so much bite.
every propagandhi album contains a shining golden trophy like this one. (last will & testament, note to self)
Duplicate Keys Icaro, my dude.
purina hall of fame

JESUS CHRIS WHAT A SONG
A true master piece. Living legends!
Killer song! I really wish it had some kind of video to go with it these days.
The best
I don't know how Propagandhi evolve and keep their roots so well. It's what I wish Weezer could do.
What a great emotional song. It gives me the same feeling as the end of George Orwell's 1984.
It's a 5 minute song with a deeper story than most books.
Michael P yes! Well said
It's actually a 3 minute song.
Propagandhi has been my favorite band for over two decades and after only having this album for a couple of days, I I think I can say with confidence that this is the best song Propagandhi has ever written. In my humble opinion.
Coma Toes I actually think it's pretty awesome, but it's definitely not in the same category as Supporting Caste or Potemkin City Limits. But this song, that's a different
I think you forgot Purina hall of fame !! :)
Steven Blanchette As their best song ever? I mean, obviously I love that song, but I have several I would say I like more.
Jared Williss ! You right buddy !! This song is a huge masterpiece !!! :)
The lyrics are just PERFECT and the melodies drive me crazy. Definetly on the top 3 of Propagandhi songs.
That reassuring D at the end... Thanks for that. These have been some brutal years, the world's on the brink of collapse, but that final chord sounds like... I dont know, some silver linings, I guess? We must keep up, for the sake of our loved ones, for the sake of our kids.
Best closer since Purina. I love this song
Purina :) Iteration was great too!
Or last will
Achieve Youth Services all their closers are great, but yeah... this one is special
Propagandhi to the rescue. Great album!
Love this so much ... I think my only fear of death is that it may not be the end
That we may be eternal beings and must do all of this again
Oh please lord, let no such thing be true
Shawn L Celtic Frost! \m/
This song has stopped me in my tracks, I can't stop listening to it. Thank you guys
Thank you guys for being Veg! The movement is proud to have Propagandhi at its side.
Best song of the album. Can't stop listening. Thank you Propagandhi.
Best song! And so tragically beautiful...thanks for this Propagandhi (and Epitaph)!!
Bill said it. Best band in the World. Period.
This song is huge! I can totally see Propagandhi expanding their sound like this. Respect!
yeah a whole album in this vain would be so sick to hear.
My favorite. Very different from anything you've ever done.
This song brough both myself and my 14 year old daughter to tears. I'm excited to see what our children have planned! Break the mold.
Literally chokes me up every time I hear it. I have a six year old son and this cuts me to the core.
Same here
same. i honestly, can barely even think about the lyrics without crying lol
Once again moving the bar higher.
They just keep doing that don't they?
Listening to this was like reading a really great book.
Heard this song a thousand times and still get goosebumps every time
This song makes me cry every time I hear it.
This Band is one of my favorites of All Time and I agree with the sentiment, Propagandhi is the best current HC Punk act, which is sad cause where I hail from!!!
Dad, are we gonna die?
Yes son, both you and I.
But maybe not today.
Best band on earth !!
best band on the fucking universe i say!!!
so beautiful it hurts
The song is beautifully written, pure awesomeness, the part at 3.14 when it slowed down is freaking awesome ,not cheesy at all in my opinion
LetyourLightshine Right? What kind of Heartless bastards could find that cheesy? That part of the song and when he's talking to his son and the implication is he sacrifices himself to save them is like an emotional gut-punch. It's not cheesy at all. A dynamic Lyricist outdid himself after 25 years.
Unbelievably good!
I bought the album delux version and now I want the other one as well! This song is amazing and I can't stop listening to it! I'm excited to see what our keepers have planned! ❤️ thankyou so much for this.
Wait, what? This is NOT included on the deluxe album? Not even in the download package? So there isn't a single version that doesn't deliberately exclude at least one song? That's not like them. Someone at Epitaph came up with THAT brilliant idea, suggested it would give the "bonus" songs a sort of novelty. THIS, of all the songs, is the CONCLUSION, and the album is incomplete without it, much like my run-on sentences, only it does end, just wide open.
always pushing themselves in the best way possible. this is one beautiful punk song. HOLY SHIT.
Never heard of these guys before. Already a big fan and this is the first song I've heard. Props for that.
Oh man, you've got a lot of back-catalog to cover!
There is never ending debate among fans regarding what era is Propagandhi's best. It is all worth a listen, but I declare newer stuff better. From bassist Kowalski joining, onward. The Beave's tenure also greatly influenced the sound of Propagandhi, and for the better.
Hows the last 7 months been mate? I read your comment and was excited for ya!
This makes me really happy for you. You’ve discovered the best band out there. The band that has been able to keep true to their roots and influences, while evolving and get better and tighter. Very few bands can say they’ve done that.
Must've been fun going through the back catalogue
The band that always can surprise you
They never ceases to amaze me
great song. greetings from argentina.
Best one on the album by a long shot. Such a good song
You need to relisten to Comply/Resist. That is a top tier Propagandhi song!
best album I've heard for years! great job guys... incredible song
I'm finally coming to the conclusion that the "I think my only fear in death," line will be my grad quote, it works so well
I admit this one made my eyes a bit watery. It's definitely a change of pace from their usual sound but i think that makes it even more powerful.
as a dad of two, this song hit me hard. I don't think there has been a single song that I feel I could possibly relate to more.
I'm not ashamed to admit that a lot of songs on this album made me choke up from Cop Just Out of Frame to Lower Order (A Good Laugh), then Nigredo's final verse and when this one came the floodgates burst and I just decided to let it all out. This album hit me hard but in a good way, it's actually quite inspiring for me since I dabble in prose and poetry. Can't wait to see this stuff live.
seeing them in Atlanta in march at the masquerade. cant wait either.
chris hannah's lyrics are so incredible.. i'm only learning guitar, but my guitar tutor recited these lyrics and i was just about weeping. We decided to play it due to the power of the song
That is really hopeful, inspiring, please learn and play all these songs. Here, have the torch, I am dying.
What a great Song! Thx!!!
We're gonna build a wall we have no choice, we have no choice. LMAO
Adventures in Zoochosis not only continues where Lower Order leaves off, "the soon to be empty cage," it also ties back to the title track referencing the precious wall to wall all walls. Three months into buying it, it's starting to burn into me how awesome it is.
so much love and pure hearts.
If "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was the teenage anthem of the Gen-X experience, then this is the grown-up one. True story.
This song is amazing.
So good!
Just thank you, for everything just thank you
My song of the year. So good.
Another incredible album
Awesome song/album I love Propagandhi :)
Anyone smart enough to explain what this song is about please?
It is about living in America in the Trump era and the idea that walls are sometimes too hard to scale from the inside. In the zoo the cage prevents both the humans from entering and the animals from escaping.
Wow thank you my friend.
Except they wrote it as Canadians, living in Canada
how do they keep doing it? just when you think maybe they over the hill. still pedal to the floor and climbing it
this one really suprised me. it was like you listen to a very cool sophisticated song an all of the sudden - i am in a 10 secon musical!
First song I've listened to in 2018!!!
Great song and maybe my fav so far and yes somewhat different to there other stuff.
I wish this song didn't randomly make me fucking cry at 6AM.
Tears
Echt ein starkes Album, freue mich schon auf Köln.
Who else is excited about the enrichment programs, implemented to extend our captive lifespans?!
the new propagandhi anthem fukin awesome is an understatement
unbelievably good
My only fear of death is that it might not be the end.....
Love
Nail on the head!
A true Bard, Chris is
iteration part 2
mike uwish yes. Fucking yes. The spirit is spot on with Iteration.
To me it seems a more pair-able parable with Purina Hall of Fame. Both songs are about how captive animals are treated, both are about a violent revolt against it, and both are really metaphors for society-at-large.
S Brown
I don't see that this song has anything to do with animal rights. In fact, I am 100% positive it is entirely unrelated. That's Lower Order on this album. This song has to do with the better future he wishes for his children vs. the temporary moderate reforms he finds himself forced to accept as part of improving people's lives in the moment. It's about fatherhood within that context.
But nice try reading that into the song. Unfortunately, if you brought that to me as a paper for a class, you wouldn't even get an F. Way, way, way too literalistic, and completely misses the overarching point. The comparisons with animals are at best passing, used as a metaphor for captivity/passivity/apathy/etc.
@@badsocks756 I agree that this song has nothing to do with animal rights, but I think S Brown's point about Purina also being a metaphor for society at large is plausible. In that song, docile and seemingly "useless" animals (cows, pigs) are killed and made into food for those other animals who obediently serve their masters (dogs who save humans from fires). The "useless" get bolt pistols, while the obedient get rewarded, including eating the "useless" animals. That's how American society works: the oppressed classes are the sustenance for those who obediently serve the military, corporate, and political elites.
@@badsocks756 This song is a literal continuation of Lower Order. Think about how Lower Order ends, lyrically, and the entire theme of this song. It is literally from the POV of a captive animal who has chosen integrity compromising passiveness for his own life and now regrets the obvious ramifications with respect to raising his children. It is a metaphor for how we are all captive and docile in our society, afraid to lash out for fear that life will become less comfortable as the punishment increases. That is to say nothing of the fact that Chris Hannah has stated that he made two animal rights themed songs for Victory Lap. If this isn't the second song, please, you goof, which is it?
Im wondering what prompted the use of the Sea Side Heights roller coaster that fell into the ocean during the hurricane as cover art? Stupid question, I know
the first album I really really like since how to clean everything
Not even Supporting Caste?
you are definitely deaf
Fuck the fucking fuck yes!
This song hits a little harder now that I have kids.
BUILD THE WALL, BUILD THE WALL!!!
Sad sad song..: (
What a fucking great album. I'm all emotional and shit. Bravo Prop.
classical mystics had no tools like Propagandhi for raptures
❤
Sick fuckin' track!
Just go.....
Zappa would have liked this
Me! How is it going?
I love this album and this song is soooo good, but having to hear that repulsive person at the beginning is tough for me. That said I understand why they did it.
Yeah Propagandhi does that with a lot of their songs. I love America's Army but I really wish I could just skip the first twenty or thirty seconds. Iteration, as well. But I guess it's intentional. It is as uncomfortable to listen to as the sound clip from Purina Hall of Fame. That's why it must be listened to.
How do these guys continually write such amazing fucking songs? I still say Albright Monument Baghdad is my favorite though...
Does that little kid say "Church sale" in the beginning? Every time I get baked and listen to this, it drives me insane. I must know what that child said.
It starts now
Philosophical pessimism's magnum opus. Or perhaps, in its spirit, parvum.
This shit is a fucking ballod!!! This song is genius!
BUTCHEEEEWW
Dad are we gonna die?
Finally figured out what the riff at 3:14 reminded me of. Hill Street Blues theme song. czcams.com/video/Je2fGzKiqRM/video.html
Dude that is hilarious! Thanks for the laugh, oh man that is just great
lol
A mendo Canadian triangulation. Typically original and salient still.
We are slaves
We can fight that.
Spend responsibly.
The only thing they want is money.
Live free
Take risks
But refuse.
Ryan Thomas comply/resist? definitely resist
How to clean everything is their best album hands down!
comment
supporting caste is the very sorry !!
eric poulin je pas compris
Propagandhi is so brave really putting their self out there.lets see they on the side of big pharma, walmart, banks and every other sheep.this isn't brave at all stop being pissies
Try again with spelling and grammar.
I literally laughed out loud when the part at 3:14 came on.... pure cheese.
Finally figured out what this riff reminded me of. Hill Street Blues theme song. czcams.com/video/Je2fGzKiqRM/video.html
While this sort of straight forward breakdown does sound a bit odd for a Propagandhi song, I certainly wouldn’t call it cheese. Chris is addressing his kids in song, I think the emotion is that part is actually very sincere and fits with the tone and subject matter of the song.
