Aaron Bushnell, REST IN PEACE. These lyrics couldn't be more poignant. Free Palestine
Great job Airman, from a soldier who didn’t have half your courage
RIP Aaron Bushnell
Prop always having the right song for a situation... RIP Aaron.
The parallels in the lyrics are unbelievable. It gives a whole new level of meaning to the song. It’s as if through insight Chris was able to peer into the future
A cop just out of frame, who at the first sight of the flames, throws up his gun in inhumane indifference
Rest in power, Airman Bushnell. I hope somebody in power pays attention and doesn't try to write you off.
Came to this song again because of Wynn Bruce. RIP. The US media is neglecting to mention his self immolation was a protest against inaction on climate change, instead posting suicide hotlines.
this song and Comply/resist are Modern classics 100%
If I thought it would help I would immolate myself in full view of the camera crews; my counterclaim. But as we all know the only tale that would be told would be that it was me, not them, who was insane. But who the fuck do i think i am fooling? As if I know the first thing of sacrifice or selflessness. I'm the cop just out of frame, who at the first sight of the flames, throws himself prostrate to the ground in reverence. An act so pure we yearn to feel the burn. Who the fuck do I think I am fooling? As if I know the first thing of sacrifice or selflessness. They say that Quang Duc's heart survived the flames unscarred. A righteous calling card left upon the palace gates for the invertebrates; their grip on power pried apart by just one frail human being. No weapon, no war machine
Easily my favorite lyrics from them yet
DarkFreedom
Holy shit.
Love from South Africa. Fan since 2001
They saaaaaay that Quang Ducs heart...
So fucking good I cry every time.
Quang Duc's story is a lesson for the ages and a cautionary tale for all would-be-tyrants: "If the people you opress are willing to perform a gesture of defiance as powerful as this one, do you think you'll EVER have a chance to fully dominate them? How long do you think you'll last against this kind of conviction?"
Nefarias Bredd Well said.
the thing that is unfortunate about the story is that diem fell through war. kind of the opposite of the selfless act he was portraying . still very touching. I work with many Buddhist and refugee's from Cambodia and Vietnam. great ppl and I have spoke to them about Thich Quang Duc. I think just for the reason I don't just talk about sport and racist homophobic things . Or tv shows and movies , they have a love for me. And its returned. some of them came in the early 70s. so have heard some amazing stories
Self immolation is the shame of the nation.
My all time favourite song of theirs is Head, Chest or Foot. Maybe cause a woman I loved put it on a mixtape for me though. They are an amazingly tight band. Real professionals and legit in the same vein as Fugazi.

Thanks, because fuck me those are some good lines.
the best song i've ever heard in my life. changed me forever..
So sick aye
Soooooo goooood
Food at the proper time. 2020 needs a kick in the teeth. YOU are truly one of Canada’s best and brightest, your music is a beacon of hope ✊🤘💪❤️🔥
The riff at 1:05 and the version of the chorus right after is musical bliss
The outro solos make me weep inside.
And, if I'm being honest, outside, too.
These 4 are timeless geniuses.
That riffage going on in the background when the vocals return is insane
Absolutely INCREDIBLE lyrics (as always)
1.21 onwards is eargasme central - just so melodic and yeah i'm getting old, 20 years of Propagandhi and i bend the knee to these Canadian maestros.
This whole song is fucking brilliant but yeah from 1:21 onward it KILLS me. Pure beauty. 20 years of them here too man!
Gotta agree. Just a simple, melodic chord progression, but add in the lead-in, the vocals and the lyrics, and you end up with awesomeness. I'm on 22+ years listening to them, and I think this is their most solid album since 'More Rock, Less Talk'.
I think its a super strong album but i'm not totally feeling "Letters To A Young Anus" and "In Flagrante Delicto." Cant put my finger on why exactly but compared to the other stellar songs those feel a little weak.
Agree, but how many times do you hear an amazing piece of music and find the chord progrssions is simple as, you're like how!!! The underlying chords are simple but the overlaid lead and vocals just elevate it. Also they're never ones for overdoing simple chord progrssions so when the sprinkle some some good ol melodic harmonies its twice as powerful!
this album fucking rules. Like every album since 1999, I bought it literally seconds after it was released. Never disappointed with these boys. I always have to listen over and over until I memorize the lyrics. This album is no exception. I have been listening everyday since its release.
I agree about the outro. Beautiful
This is their best work to date
Kosa Records nothing will beat todays empires. Best album ever written.
@@faustking3766Supporting Caste is pretty good .. but “Todays Empire Tomorrows Ashes” personally is my fav but Potemkim City Limits is a close 2nd . “Cut Into Earth” is one of my fav songs
Crying my guts out
Cringe. I swear EVERY comments section on YT has someone say that they’re “crying”. Congrats, you’re that pvssy.
Awesome shit! You guys and gal rock! Caught 3 shows last tour best time of my life. My son and father were there. Thank you for rocking still. Love every album.
Propagandhi and A Wilhelm Scream need to do a split ep
They are musically similar but lyrically different. Not that it's a bad thing, but I don't think they would consider it.
these songs are so dense and varied and GOOD. if sheet happens puts out a guitar book i will throw money at them immediately.
can buy the tab book at the show I believe =)
I seen a tab book for sale at a show
it's out now :) potemkin city limits (the album), too
Fantastic lyrics
Albright Monument Baghdad is my favorite Prop song, this is a close second
Zajebisty album✌️🎸 Lovely.
Can't believe it's already a year.
2 years
Why am I just now finding out about this band? This is amazing! I can't stop listening. Any other songs or albums I need to check out by these guys???
Just check all of them. One of my favs still is the song Nation States. Im listening to this band since im 14 and now i am 33. It doesnt matter when you discover it, what matters is, that you did. Their albums are all a little different. Some classic punk style, going over to metal style and now getting back to a more punkish style. I just love all of it and im not a tiny bit into metal. :-D
Jake Vivanco all of them!
Darnsinn - I'm 33 and have been listening to them since I was 13. Guess we're Propagandhi twins lol
All of their albums are great! Victory Lap, today’s empires tomorrow’s ashes and supporting caste are probably my favourites with less talk more rock and Potemkin city limits not far behind. Songs that really stand out for me in chronological order would be anti-manifesto, haillie sellasse, and we thought nation-states..., resisting tyrannical government, state lottery, mate ka moris..., fuck the border, back to the motor league, Purina hall of fame, a speculative fiction, bringer of greater things, rock for sustainable capitalism, iteration, night letters, tertium non datur, without love, last will and testament, note to self, rattan cane and Duplicate keys icaro.
Jake Vivanco
Anything from 2000 on. Most of their stuff before that is good too (Check out Less Talk, More Rock), but they came into their own roughly around the time of Today's Empires, Tomorrow's Ashes when their current bassist joined. Imo anyway.
Wow. Fucking awesome! God I love these guys.... So sad I missed y'all in Vegas. ♡
Gawd damn
Cool cop just out of Frame
Swag
el punk americano, siempre el mejor de todos. lejos lejisimo.
son de canada carnal
JAJAJA
Aaron Bushnell
Why didn't this album have an epic guitar solo on the final song?
These cats are on a completely different level than most shit out there or to even come
Quảng Đức burned himself to death at a busy Saigon road intersection on 11 June
so fucking good, I'm glad you learned how to play your instruments hahahahahaha
what the fuck kinda comment is this? they have been a killer ever since today's empire.
it was actually a reply to this..This album is good. But it is slow, slightly overproduced, and way too technical. This is what you get when punks learn how to play their instruments. I'll go listen to Supporting caste instead - one more time. by punk hardcore info. thats what kinda fucking comment it was. have a good day
I believe in the beautiful revolution of Willem Van Spronsen.
17 deaf people gave it thumbs down. They must not be able to read either.
"-334"
Accurate to modern times
I'm sad cuz Supporting Caste was a masterpiece that they will never be able to match or eclipse.
Mmm yes and no. I think they all get better over time!!!
fuck me jordy's still got it
It's good but i like Chris's voice more high pictched, like in Potemkin city limits.
any ideas of what sense of "righteous" is chris refering to? correct, honorable, honest, virtuous, moral, others?
From Wikipedia - In criminology, a calling card is a particular object sometimes left behind by a criminal at a scene of a crime
My take is that Chris is using the term 'righteous' to negate the criminal connotation associated with leaving the heart on the palace gates. The lyrics also reference extreme sacrifice and selflessness as something to be revered and could be considered righteous.
@@scottmaxwell5090 thanx. just read this :)
1 million for quang duc's heart
Who the f*ck do I think I...

his voice kinda sounds like breaking Benjamin
How dare you sir.

How DARE you, indeed!

This comment is good. But it is slow, slightly overproduced, and way too technical. This is what you get when punks learn how to type on the internet. I'll go look at the comments on Reddit instead - one more time.
you're just being inflammatory for website traffic or something right? what a bummer, this album rocks and deserves celebrating.
(if you're an actual person, damn man Im sorry music looks like such a dire zero sum game to you. please reconsider ties with anyone in your life who wants to make things they love and put them out into the world- if anyone had to deal on a regular basis with the boring and arbitrary rules on what music you think deserves to be made we'd lose almost everything worth hearing.)
@Kosa Records very underrated reply. 13/10!!!
Propagandhi just learning to play their instruments? That is one of the dumbest things i've read in a while. Honestly. Just plain fucking moronic.
RIP Aaron Bushnell
