- Today we travel 20 minutes off the parkway to Paw Paw’s Catfish Kitchen in Wears Valley. This is a dearly loved place by a lot of locals and a lot of visitors as well. They have some of the best catfish in the area. They also have a lot of other cajun and creole foods. Definitely worth a trip to check them out!

Paw Paw's Catfish Kitchen brought back memories of growing up in New Orleans. For starters, I called my grandfather Paw Paw. Seeing the painting of the shrimp boat reminded me of buying fresh Gulf shrimp right off the boats as they docked. Lots of Louisiana memorabilia on the walls also caught my eye. But what really grabbed my attention was that Paw Paw's used authentic po'boy bread shipped up from Louisiana. Outside of Louisiana, restaurants may call their sandwich a 'po'boy' but it is usually just served on a soft hoagie roll! Looking over PawPaw's menu made my mouth water.! Thank you for this visit down memory lane.
P.S. Did they tell you the 'proper' way to order a po'boy is "dressed"? That means with shredded lettuce, sliced tomato, pickles and mayonnaise. Some sandwich shops call the small, tender pieces of roast beef that fall off into the gravy during cooking "debris." Roast beef and seafood po'boys are the most popular.

I’m originally from Louisiana and moved here to Tennessee 5 years ago and I’ve got to say you won’t find another restaurant that is Louisiana style compared to this place! Best place around!!

I'm NOT a seafood fan (except for shrimp!), but this looked so yummy. What is "bu dan"?? I probably misspelled it. I've never eaten bread pudding of any kind lol. Love you guys! Just can't get enough of your videos!!
Boudin is really interesting. It’s kind of like Cajun sausage but it has pork and rice and seasonings in it and it’s in a sausage casing but it’s not really sausage. L O L And as far as bread pudding I don’t really care for it. Rich likes it a lot. But I told him I would get it because he wanted to. But I was really surprised I liked it. It’s kind of like where they take day-old bread and they add stuff to it and it makes like a loaf almost, really hard to explain! 😂 You are so sweet. I’m glad you enjoy them!!❤️
