Pat Williams GREAT music, Good story line and plots, Good acting, Great guest stars, Always filmed on location NEVER in a Back-Lot Studio is why this show was and STILL is so Good.

I have been a fan of this show ala re runs since I was 8 years old and never tired watching it when I was living in California until August 1991. I so felt bad when I moved re runs of the show never aired on cable and I had to wait to watch it again 16 years later when it started coming out on DVD but it was worth waiting for and now I have all 5 seasons and I love watching it. Patrick Williams gave this show great music but it was Quinn Martin who gave us Karl Malden and Michael Douglas and by season 5 Richard Hatch but Malden and Douglas were what truly made the show the success it was with alot of awesome guest stars who we grew to love such as Larry Hagman, Mark Hamill, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Robert Wagner and many more. "Inspectors 81 to headquarters." I love it when Lieutenant Mike Stone (Karl Malden) called his protege Steve Keller (Michael Douglas) "Buddy boy." Michael Douglas's late father Kirk a long time friend of Karl Malden was right when he said to Michael he was going to learn alot from Karl Malden and you can tell when you watch Michael's acting and not just because he has Kirk's acting abilities he inherited but he's a great actor in general and it is very heart warming when in 1986 or 1987 Karl Malden says to Kirk Douglas he loved working with Michael for four years and Michael is the son he never had and he even said it in his book too
