  • On this episode of On Purpose, I sat down with Hasan Minhaj. Hasan is a first generation American, and is a comedian, actor, and the host and creator of the weekly comedy series Patriot Act.
Hasan shares that he was fired from every previous job he’s ever had, and the value of relentlessly trying new things until you find work worth doing. He reminds us of the challenges that come with making great art and to always be specific with the message you want to share.

I clicked on this as soon as I saw Hasan. I miss him - his show. It still boggles the mind ( and yet it doesn't) how the smartest show out there got canceled - on NETFLIX of all platforms. but I guess he got "too real" real for people, governments out there. Whatever the case - Hasan that show was more than FIRE. I look forward to seeing what you're going to do next. Don't be afraid to start your own stuff on youtube or patreon - I'm dead up on that - people like you can easily do millions a month, through membership and subscriptions with lower overhead and drama.

You'll watch an entire Netflix show even when the first episodes are slow and boring just because someone told you "it gets better." *But what if you looked at your goals like that and watched your life get better instead?*

I have to say I’ve never seen Jay so intimidated by someone before. Perhaps because of their similar ethnicity, age and Hasan’s intelligence he cut it really short at 42 minutes, it’s s the second shortest interview after Dr. Oz. With Matthew Hussey and Will Smith he extended twice that time! Just saying …interesting…never seen this Jay before. Love to see that human side of you, a little insecure by you carried on beautifully!

I adore both of these equally brilliant and deep young men who are clearly helping young people examine ,navigate , and speak /live their truth with consideration for humanity. What stuck me was more a difference in the LANGUAGE each used to describe their process and while the outcomes are similar, Jays language / process is more from a “spiritual approach” and Hassan uses different words to describe his process and so he does not see it as a spiritual path.
At 67; I see these “differences” as “similarities” because their intention is honest and good and requires consistent self exploration which is a long term challenging task.
Even if their intentions are “different” by descriptions the overall outcome is the same. - they both value personal growth and solid communication skills to achieve that end. Neither of them wants to hurt anyone with their art form. They want to “INFORM”. Ok enough said. Awesome and thank you Jay and Hassan.

Accountability to a higher power, god, karma is KEY to success in life. Oftentimes people are so focused on ego based realities they get lost in doing things for themselves rather than co-creating realities with the most high. Sending this message to do what you love and wishing that you manifest your best life based on what the universe wants for you.

'Trying to be as honest and real as he is with his budies on whatsapp???' In guessing he has learned that he can not be THAT honest especially when that honesty hinges on his ipinions. Politicians, world leaders and different institutions are not your friends.
