The absolute joke about Kor Phaeron in 40k is that he's the "major" antagonist of the Psychic Awakening Book II : Faith&Fury. He leads the Word Bearers, Night Lords and Iron Warriors against the Cardinal World of Talledus, defended by the SoB, the Black Templars, Salamanders and White Scars.
You didn't know because, in a serie focused around bringing existing named character up to speed (like Jain Zar, Ghazghkull, Ragnar, Shadowsun, etc.) or creating new ones (Kyria Draxus), Faith&Fury is the only book who released with a generic miniature (a Chaos Sorcerer).
Yep. The plotline that brought back Kor Phaeron and three of the Traitor Legion to speed got nowhere and the release forgot to gave him a miniature for the occasion.

I've heard "and only heard online" that the storm of iron epilogue has Honsou talking to Perturabo after all of the Ultramar war.
I've heard that too, but it was only printed in a limited re-release of Storm of Iron, so there's basically just the Lexicanum post to go on really

Huron actually got a novel in 2022 called Master of the Malestrom that's apparently pretty good, but honestly I want more Red Corsairs too, or other csm pirate bands. Hell, a renegade Imperial Navy force turned chaos pirates would kick ass

Total respect for your dedication to education! I'll be here when ever you post. I love your videos, to be fair I am also obsessed with the Alpha Legion. I wanted to float an interesting idea. In the way that all Primarchs are partial warp stuff. Using the example of the Lion and Corax. What if there are no Daemon Primarchs? What if those Primarchs fallen to Chaos have been tricked by chaos and believe they are corupted and "reality" reflects that belief? Take Perturabo is he just a reflection of what he thinks he should be. We know his idea of "chaos" on a much smaller scale this could easily explain Sanguinius's wings. What are your thoughts on this idea? Could all Primarchs be redeemed?

Oooohhh boy, they cant do that. The fandom would start another riot if GW retcon all the daemon primarchs as "not actually chaos" (well, all exept perty).
That makes an ungodly amount of sense, and I'm kinda here for it. Not that I think that's the direction GW intended, nor is it the direction I think they'll go, since it would kinda put a bow on the whole story, with at least a semi-happy ending. And 40k doesn't really *do* happy endings on a large scale like that. Not without something truly awful happening to take it's place, like the Tyranids really breaking down the door, or some yet unknown faction coming into play, like another Chaos entity like the enslavers or something. Can't have grimdark if all of humanity is united and *less* at war.
The same reason why the Emperor is probably never returning in any real way. Like, if he comes back, he's probably not going to do any fighting unless he's forced to. He's probably going to go play mad scientist again, having learned nothing.
But as for the Primarchs, the fallen nine are likely going to stay fallen because Grecian tragedy gonna tragedy, and it would upset the status quo.
Here's what I think is going to happen in at least the near future:
Vashtorr is going to become a major power if not another proper Chaos god, we're going to see the Dark Mechanicus and Iron Warriors (with Perty) get some love in the tabletop, maybe Dark Guard, too, if we're lucky. Emperor's Children are going to get a refresh with a focus on those sweet, sweet Noise Marines and with Fulgrim as a Daemon Primarch (probably the exact same model for 30k). Lorgar and Corvus will come back as playable Daemon Primarchs for reasons (and as a pair because gotta have both). The Aeldari, Leagues of Votann, and T'au will be forgotten in GW's own pile of shame. Probably more Tyranid shenanigans that ultimately go nowhere. Necrons have been getting a mild refresh, and their recent books have been pretty solid, if not mind-blowing in a big-picture kind of way. Probably more Flayed Ones lore with the next Ruin/Reign/Profit books. Orks are doing entertaining things with Gaz. Probably more of the same. And the status quo will never change because there's no money in it.
@@Erebusdidnothingwrongish As far as I've read, Legion is a good start. In the HH series, the Alpha Legion show up again in Deliverance Lost, and they have a good short story in the Primarchs anthology two books on from that. As mentioned in the video, Shroud of Night is also good.
I'd love to see Amit the original chapter master of the flesh tearers come back as a traitor who fell to khorne. The bloodbath that would follow a battle of him and gabriel seth would be awesome.
Plus you could have it where gabriel loses the first fight and ends up needing to cross the rubicon before their next one. Pimaris Gab would be so pissed lol

@@livefromtheblacklibrary I completely agree, I’ve mentioned to you multiple times that I’m a zealous Sevatar fan. He’s my favorite character in the entire setting. Maybe he became a grey knight, maybe he was executed. ADB may revisit it just for closure. His evolution in the Long Night was fascinating with his epiphany of what he eventually deemed as the true enemy.

My main concern about Sev, is how in the world is he still alive? Like, he isn't in the eye of terror and should be in DA custody. At this point he should already be beyond his natural life span.

Eidolon and Sevatar are musts. If both are still alive. In particular, I think that Sevatar would offer so much to the current storyline. How cool would it be to be able to choose a Traitor Legion that hated Chaos as much as the Emperor? One that had a sense of honor, if you could call it that, but that was not in any way “good guys.” Or, you could make them a depraved warband and not affiliated with Sevatar. Eidolon would be interesting if he either has some internal struggle about what the Legion has become or if he has conflict with Fulgrim - making the Legion dynamic much more interesting.
One character I would like to see return desperately is Meros the Red Angel. Though he isn’t necessarily a traitor, he is at the moment a possessed chaos marine.
He was an apothecary who sacrifices his soul to save his primarch and legion during the events of Fear to tread(the first Horus heresy book I read) becoming the Red Angel in order to free his legion from the precursor to the black rage and then going to Horus to become his advisor. He reappears in the battle of molech(I haven’t read the vengeful spirit yet but I plan to) and from there nothing.
Sanguinius said when Meros was possessed by the daemon that he would free Meros from his fate. But nothing come up from this, I was hoping he would reappear in the End and the death volume 2/3 maybe having a part in Sanguinius death and the coming of the black rage in all blood angels but from what I have read in the lore he just doesn’t and it leaves that plot point on such an infuriating cliff hanger for me. Even in the current setting there is just nothing on him.
Maybe he’ll come back in the scouring but come on GW bring this character back he’s as intertwined into the Blood Angel as Ka’Bandha.

The fact that Sev has most of his appearances in short stories or as a side character in someone else's book I will never forgive. On top of the fact that its strongly implied that he becomes the founder of the Space Sharks but that we will never get a book on exactly how that happened.
I hope Vorx just goes home to chill with his beast men and make plagues.

Same though! Decimus possibly being not only the son of Septimus and Octavia, but also essentially the progeny of all of First Claw considering his armor setup, it’d be really cool to see a character centered novel about him and his crusade against the Eldar!

In the novel Storm of Iron by Graham McNeill where we first meet Honsou,, it is said that his genetic heritage is both Iron Warrior and Imperial Fist gene stock. This is why the majority of the Iron Warriors hate him so much, because he carries their most hated enemies gene seed within him. I don't recall reading that Honsou's heritage is Iron Warrior and Word Bearers. However I haven't read the novel Angel Exterminatus, so the author may have changed his origin story.
I’m really happy you mentioned Kassar he’s a really obscure guy but I love him, also no one mentioned the Alpha Legion warp entity in the epilogue of the book

I would thoroughly be stoked to hear more about Sevetar. Definitely one of my favorite traitors and a character with a lot of depth. I also agree with your comments on Abbadon, how he needs to be more of a character rather than a plot device.
One of the coolest things that the World Eaters army update did was introduce Lord Invocatus. He's a brand new character, not tied to the Heresy, with his own war band who very much represents a rising star amongst the legion's various fragments with really cool lore and a distinct identity as being able to ride through the sky on his juggernaut. I'd love to see more of that sort of thing from the traitors, and I think Death Guard and Thousand Sons could really benefit from that. Especially Thousand Sons tbh, since Magnus' presence kinda drags them down and keeps them way too dependent on their rivalry with the Space Wolves imo
Suggestion for you regarding the money situation. If you have a close friend you trust use their bank account as a piggy bank, have the money taken out into physical money and stash it away for later usage.

I fell in love with Gendor Skraivok skipping across the first wall, prancing about, deluded about his own abilities, and after challenging Ralderon to 1v1, weeping for his life like a coward. In the half chapter he showed more dimension and detestability than 90% of 40k's edgelord bad attitude villians. I would really love to have him back, and hopefully not made a paint by the numbers chaos bad guy after his time with his swords deamon in the warp.
How do you “ship” in anyone in Chaos, let alone a World Eater who’s only capable of Anger and bloodshed? Lol😅

Eidelon is alive and had a chat with Fabius in the Fabius Bile trilogy Clonelord. One other note I think will make you wanna read it (if I remember correctly), Lucius is mentioned and in the same room, Bile pretty much says, "You're not even gonna talk asshole?" and doesn't have a line of dialogue in the book. I don't wanna spoil anything, but lets just say what you think he should be doing for the Emperor's Children is pretty closely described in the book. Also Noise Marines are featured through pretty much the whole trilogy.

I adore Honsou, by far my favorte traitor marine besides Talos, and you're right, the man is a complete menace who doesn't ccare about honour or the glory of battle, he just wants to win and that's it, though I will mention this, you confused his Geneseed, he is in reality a cross of Iron Warrior Geneseed and Imperail Fist, hence he is called the Halfbreed adn hated throughtout a bug part of the legion.

Id love Sevatar to come back, even if he's been like twisted by the warp into something like a Warp Talon with a chainglaive it would be super cool, especially if he's like a warp entity enforcing Night Lords justice and not one of the ruthless sadists like a lot of his brothers 😊

@@livefromtheblacklibrary you have really interesting ideas and understanding of the lore, it is refreshing. It is incredibly important to stay focused on what is important. Making less videos isn't a problem, as long as you're satisfied with your results. Your videos are sufficiently good to justify any time taken doing them, and I enjoy them even more by knowing that they don't impact your life in a negative way. (Also, I really hope that Erebus come back so we can hate him even more)
Getting a book with Luthor in current 40k would be phenomenal. If we got a mini for 30k & 40k well I'd be rocking some Fallen for sure 😅

Great video and list. One character that I think you missed is Zso Sahaal of the 8th Legion, which is understandable because he's from a fairly old book (Lord of the Night, 2005). I'd love to see his return, with Mita Ashyn in tow.
I'm fine with Sevatar not making it to M42, as long as ADB gives us some information on what happens to him from the SoT and through into the scouring.
What I do want is Decimus. A model and a book about him attempting to unite the legion, as well as outlining how he uses his ability to see the future as a fighter and strategist.

Kharn has another modern appearance in “Shroud of Night”, by Andy Clark, in which he’s (as almost always) portrayed as an unstoppable monster. My fav scene in the book is when the main Alpha Legion Marine tries to leg sweep Kharn, and it does jack-all to him, being described as “feeling like he kicked the leg of a dreadnought”

I bet we will get more Sevitar story in the presumptive scouring series. Maybe not as a main character (still possible tho) but something to update his lore for a potential return in 40k.

Since you mentioned Kharn and his novel I am gonna mention our pov character of the novel. Dreagher, I don't care when he died or how he died. I just want to know what happened to him. Dreagher was such a likeable marine who was there with Kharn on Skallathrax but that's it. We never learned what happened to him. What will happen on Skallathrax will broke Dreagher I have even think that he would succumb to the nails. He fought and kept kharn safe while he was in coma and believed he would be the only one to unite the legion. And then Skallathrax happens and knowing it was kharn who broke the legion who was supposed to unite it. Dreagher will go crazy.
There seems to be a long-term and growing theme of even the traitor primarchs being less than the favored henchmen of chaos and being eclipsed in importance by some captains... or ded, yo.

Eidolon plays more then a bit part and actually does a fair few of the things discussed here in the book genefather.
Honestly the fabius trilogy made fabius and the 3rd my favourite group maybe in the entirety of warhammer its excellent and I really cannot recommend it enough

Death Guard does need a small series like the Night Lords. Lords of Silence was a nice start but if they could have more and different outlook on being a plague marine. Something other than, I am a puppet for the Grandfather rawr.
A intelligent chaos spawn for death guard would be interesting maybe it could do something with the prisoner of the emerald cave and fowl spawn

Great list! Although a little off topic, I do wish we got some new Thousand Sons characters, yes we have Ahriman and Magnus. But that is it, which is disappointing. We also don’t really know what the legion is up to other than invading Fenris and them invading the Stygian sector which we don’t know if chaos is still control of the sector.

If think it would be cool if, in your futur videos about characters that we want back, you did the same thing as you did with the Death Guard here; factions who need more interesting characters than the few we have, like the Orks who really only have Ghazghkull (who's great, but still, only one is not much)
Grulgor is alive? First time I heard about it. It would be cool having Garro back in some way (maybe as a saint?) and grulgor as his nemesis.
I think Kibre would be pretty interesting to bring back; not only for the reasons Chrono mentioned (excellent though those reasons are), but also because we could potentially have a sort of insight into the sort of duality of the Black Legion. On the one hand, there's the official line that they're a whole new legion - the "legion of the Long War" - and on the other there's the whole issue of a good chunk of them (especially the veterans and leadership) being ex-Sons of Horus, at least some of whom, like Abaddon and Kibre, participated in the betrayal and murder of those of their legion brothers who chose to stay loyal to the memory of Horus.
Bonus points if we get a character representing the ironically-named "thrice-cursed traitors" - those warbands of the Sons of Horus who refused to join Abaddon and/or spit on their primarch's memory - like Vheren Ashuraddon to represent the other end the ideological spectrum to Kibre and Abaddon: that Horus wasn't weak and that the Sons of Horus still deserve to be the first among traitors without denying who they are.
Granted all of the characters in this video would be a treat to see again in some form or another!

I think that’d be cool if Fulgrim didn’t come back. If the Emperor’s Children got their army with Eidolon leading them instead of Fulgrim because Fulgrim just doesn’t give enough of a shit and he’s busy being hedonistic. Also it wouldn’t make sense to have a resin and plastic daemon Fulgrim model.
I really hope they bring back Decimus and Sevatar, Night Lords need some more screen time.
