  • Rise of the Barbie Doll Nose Job Trend | Rhinoplasty.
    Disclaimer: I have no proof, other than the individuals that have admitted to cosmetic or plastic surgery, that anyone/celebrity in this video has had surgery. Neither am I saying that every person featured in this video is speculated to have had. Please do not hate on anyone in this video.
    Barbie noses are not always unnatural, neither am I saying that these nose shapes are bad (even if they are achieved through surgery), but their may be some complications (especially if they are too extreme (which there has been a slight normalisation of)).
    This video is a little loud, apologies.

    Disclaimer: I have no proof that anyone (other than those that have admitted) in this video has had surgery, nor am I insinuating that all the women I have used in this video have had any work done (I may just be using them for visuals or examples of the barbie nose; someone having a barbie nose naturally does not mean that they have had surgery.
    I am also not saying that achieving this, if your aesthetic ideal, is inherently a bad thing, but there are some complications to be aware of. If you are considering any sort of cosmetic surgery, please be careful about choosing your doctor, as I have read some disturbing things in regards to particular surgeons keeping patients under anaesthesia for too long and causing long-term damage or death. Please keep in mind that not all surgeons (yes, unethical surgeons can exist) discuss all the complications that can arise and complications such as a nose that is not your aesthetic preference are not the only issues that can arise during surgery. Stay safe! and do adequate research on your service provider.
    I am sorry if you were offended by the video, this video was not maliciously made to incite hatred. Please do not send hate to anyone in this video; that was not the intent.

    Please also keep in mind that MJ suffered from lupus - a disorder that never allowed his wounds to properly heal, therefore he had two confirmed nose jobs done in the late 70s or early 80s and other nose jobs were performed to take care of the tissue affected by lupus. Before considering any plastic surgery please remember to check your medical condition, it's absolutely crucial!

      @yilyau  Před rokem +1

      Yes, absolutely! Please keep in mind medical condition and sometimes results may not be achievable for particular reasons (skin type, etc.)

    Thank you. I have a ethnic nose with a bump and I have come to love it but tiktok trends made me insecure in the past and I considered a nose job many times. I now am disgusted with the trends and want nothing to do with them

    • @yilyau
      @yilyau  Před rokem

      Yes, I didn’t add clips, but so many trends of covering the bump on the nose, etc. This wasn’t to shame people that have these noses or get these noses, but it feels like sometimes people see this as the ONLY standard, when, in reality, I have seen many people, like yourself, that look gorgeous with ethnic noses! Sometimes a button nose can look great from the side, but people that get them shaved down may regret that it sometimes looks wider from the front point of view. Sometimes there’s a ‘trade-off’ - Something to keep in mind! 💜

    I've always found the obsession with "the baribe nose" fascinating. I'm black and was born with a "barbie nose" (didn't know it was called that). I've always found noses more like Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj more attractive. It looks more unique but very cute to me.

    • @yilyau
      @yilyau  Před rokem +1

      Yes, it is fascinating to me too. Not saying that barbie noses are bad. They can look very good with the right harmony, but a lot of young impressionable girls and women are striving towards this goal on TikTok and social media (sometimes not researching the surgeon or the clinic). Also, it can be depressing for some to learn that it’s virtually impossible for very thick skinned patients to get the exact look (thinning or defatting the structure can be difficult). I’m not really sure where ‘barbie noses’ were coined, but they tend to be referred to such by Turkish surgeons. Also, I want to note for anyone reading, this video is absolutely not meant to have anything against Turkish plastic surgeons as I believe there are many good surgeons in any country (any assertion otherwise seems xenophobic). Turkey and Iran seem to do this nose in particular, though. Harmony is key, I believe. Nikki and Megan look beautiful with their respective noses! 🤍

    I don’t think it’s a trend this has always been the nose standard it’s just that surgery is more accessible

    • @yilyau
      @yilyau  Před rokem +1

      Yes, I suppose you could say that this has always been the nose standard in many places. Rather, I believe 'trend' (the general direction in which something is developing) is rather the prevalence of surgery and the normalisation of surgery in order to achieve this specific nose. Again, nothing wrong with this nose type (many people have this naturally); just pointing out some things to think about when changing the nose surgically (collapse, amongst some other issues on occasion) --- an aesthetically 'botched' nose is sometimes not the biggest concern.

    Yasmine wijnaldum is a model with a bump on the nose the has a typical Arabic/meditarian nose and she s the most stunning girl i ever Saw. Please don't change your face to conform to trends. Embrasse your heritage and beauty

    • @yilyau
      @yilyau  Před rokem +2

      Yes, not really sure what is the aversion to bumps on noses? Not saying that someone can’t get it shaved down or altered if it is their desire, but these beauty ideals tend to be informed by socialisation/society. I’ve seen plenty of women/men that look absolutely gorgeous with bigger noses or humps. I believe in harmony over this gradual trend towards isolating each feature and romanticising them separate from each other.
      Something to also keep in mind that I didn’t mention is that (disregarding the structural consequences), some people aesthetically complain that their noses like wider after shaving the bump from a frontal point of view. To anyone reading, please do adequate research before having surgery! I didn’t mention some deaths or people left in vegetative states. Sometimes it’s not merely the surgeon, but you are also choosing the facilities and anaesthetist!

    Personally people always were bulliyng me for my nose, when I was little and that has damaged me a lot today, a part of me says that I have a barbie nose but all the horrible comments they told me in the past are still there. I just wish we were kinder!!! and especially with young children, because then they will grow up with that idea in their mind

    Can someone help me to understand🙏 that why so many Turkish Surgeons are doing this kinda rhinoplasty, i mean i saw the patients & all have same nose 🙌 Any particular reason? Is it safe;making the nose so small or one should stick to normal rhinoplasty only ?

      It is not confirmed she has ever had rhinoplasty. I used her as a visual because she has that type of nose. ☺️💖 Even if she did, doctors are not allowed to disclose that type of patient information unless there was consent. 🌸

    i have a slight barbie nose, besides the fact i have a slight arch in the middle of my nose, above the tip. (it's hard to explain 🥲) i do think this is a pretty type of nose, but i personally think greek god noses, aka noses with sharp arches, are the prettiest. this just goes to show that there isn't and will never be a #1 beauty standard. i like my nose, and yeah it is pretty similar to a barbie nose, but it's still not perfectly arched without a bump. bbl's were popular just a year ago, and now they're not popular at all. this just goes to show that plastic surgery isn't just dangerous for your physical health, but your mental health as well. i once saw this guy with a beautiful greek god - like nose who got surgery to "fix" it. body trends change like every week now, and for people who are getting plastic surgery to impress others, not everybody is going to think you're pretty or a specific part of you is pretty compared to other people who might find you pretty.

    • @yilyau
      @yilyau  Před rokem

      Yes, things go in and out of fashion fast. And, yes, an alarming rate of people that get plastic surgery have some form of body dysmorphia which leads to higher rates of post-operation dissatisfaction. No shame to anyone that makes their own choice to get plastic surgery, but think clearly about doing it for trends or other people! 💜
