How good was Mourinho's Chelsea actually? #GOAT
New video about one of the most talked about teams we've seen over the 2000's in football. In this episode we take on Mourinho's Chelsea who won the the Premier League, Fa Cup, Carling Cup and Community Shield (sadly not the champions league) with players like Lampard, Drogba, Terry, Carvalho and Makelele.

    A couple of things.
1: Abramovich did not hire Ranieri. Ranieri was already the manager when Roman arrived, having been hired by Ken Bates in the autumn of 2000 to replace Gianluca Vialli.
2: Makelele was not the only player in the Chelsea squad to have won major trophies when Mourinho arrived. Geremi, signed by Ranieri the previous season, had won La Liga and the Champions League (twice) with Real Madrid. Desailly, one of the players Mou released had won basically everything there was to win including the Champions League with 2 different clubs (Marseille and AC Milan), the World Cup, and European Championship, and Celestine Babayaro had won the FA Cup in 2000 with Chelsea and the UEFA Cup Winners Cup in 1998. There were also Hernan Crespo and Juan Veron who had won the UEFA Cup with Parma, and Veron had won the Premier League with Man Utd and Serie A with Lazio. Manu Petit had won the Premier League with Arsenal as well as the World Cup and European Championship.

Cech was, I believe a signing made by Ranieri, made before the end of season to arrive for 04-05. Not a Mourinho signing. While finishing second to Arsenal in the league, they knocked them out of the champions league and lost to Monaco in the Semi final. Not bad for a first season under new ownership.

Xavi was a key player for Barcelona since 1999, he just had injuries. Iniesta had 30+ appearances in the League since 3 years before Pep's arrival. He played in that final.
Messi's break out season was the one before Pep's arrival and he was considered a future superstars since forever.
Don't say bs to someone that lived through those events. Barcelona was so amazing as a whole that people were gossiping that their u-10 team could beat most teams in Europe.

Mourinho built such a strong squad in his first spell at Chelsea that the next 3 managers all played the same squad. Only when Ancelotti came, the roster started to change in a significant way. But even then when Mourinho got his second spell at Chelsea the team still played Mourinho-influenced football.
