  • Solo road tripping through Vermont in my camper van, I’m taking the scenic route and driving (mostly) forest roads to the best camping, hiking, and swimming that the Green Mountain National Forest has to offer - each beautiful drive, trail, campsite, and swim spot will be a true hidden gem of this gorgeous state. I’m embracing slow travel to live an affordable and happy life in the woods alone, saving money while traveling by hitting public land, local farm stands, and free hikes to awesome swimming holes from creeks to rivers to lakes. Living life nomadically or just to the fullest doesn’t have to expensive, and I share the methods and inspiration for this practice as I camp and explore on a budget as a full time nomad in the great outdoors!

    Being a nomad naturalist enables me to reconnect with nature in a whole new way. I hope to inspire this inner peace and happiness in others through a closer relationship with mama nature, through healthy eating, outdoor recreation, edible food gardening/farming, and sustainable living. CZcams has enabled me to better educate and inspire from the road.

    Oh just be very careful here in Vermont. We have been having serious problems with bear. Coyotes and moose. Consider investing in a bear whistle or mace.

      Good to know! I’d love to see a moose but definitely from a distance 😂 I had bear mace but it deployed on me and it’s soooo expensive to replace!

      Aww that means the world! I definitely grind on these videos but it’s pure passion and I don’t mind it a bit. Means so much that someone appreciates it too! I’ll have a ton more produce hauls and seasonal meals in the next two videos. This area is garden foodie heaven hehe.

    When I go hiking I bring herb seeds and leafy greens like kale and other edible plant seeds and plant along my way for nature and for future hikers, or sometimes if I'm going north for weeks hiking I can turn around and have snacks on my way back. Radish can be edible in about 25 days. Looks awesome, thanks for sharing 🙏

      Wow! That’s so cool! I’d definitely be interested in looking into native and non invasive foods to do that with!! Fresh food has always been my top priority while traveling. Thank you so much for tuning in again!

    • @rufinokopolos
      @rufinokopolos Před rokem

      @@kaylanrosa I never really understand what invasive or native means when it comes to edible non poisonous plants. Especially since the definition of invasive includes economic impact, like companies do not want people to be self sustaining by planting edible seeds everywhere cause who would buy food if the land was bountiful, edible and pleasing. Plus native can't be true with most of our ecosystem, plants that grow without our cultivation go wild with weeds and non edible plants that give no actual benefits to the animals or the people living in it or passing through. All plants are technically invasive, actually anything that is self growing or capable of reproduction in it's self is invasive, humans are invasive. Lol I think the earth used to be covered with natural growing edible foods everywhere, and certain humans came along and destroyed the ecosystem, ate everything they could, cut down all the trees, and let nature go wild with weeds and unpleasant or non edible plants, just so they could profit from dependency on stores and taxes to feed the people of society. Granted the world doesn't make sense to me, if every patch of soil besides the paths we travel upon where covered with edible plants that continually regrew from it's self world hunger wouldn't be an issue, and if we stopped using vehicles to disperse air currents at whatever daily mphs we disperse wind, nature would calm down. And if we didn't have machines for entertainment and for lighting and storage of processed foods or stored foods cause we could just go outside and pick fresh food, we wouldn't need air conditioning or heating, we would probably be migrational and more native to the earth. We would be villages and gather together entertaining each other with human interaction instead of humans through a looking glass of death, blindness and destruction in it's creation, use and waste. To coexist, vs to have dependency on everything that destroys mother Gaia. It saddens me when people say things that were educated propaganda by companies that need consumerism and by our government that needs the taxes that keep them living such lavish and planet destroying lifestyles.i understand that's not what you're exactly saying, and want to be mindful of what you plant, yet given the bigger picture of our lack of mindfulness, it's like really what harm does planting a variety of edible seeds actually do in comparison to what we unconsciously do to destroy our planet every day. Either way, peace be with you. And may your journey continue to enlighten your every words and ways. 🙏

      This is one of the best ideas I've heard in years. I used to drop tree seeds along trails when I road my dirt bikes. But now this gives me a great idea. Blueberry. Raspberry seeds. We have a lake called blueberry lake. They have thousands of blueberry trees all over the place and is free pickings. The best blueberry's ever. ( Are free blueberry's hehehe jk)
