    Great tip! People connect your leashes at the front!!!

      I find so many people not knowing this. They keep connecting in the back as they still think its the correct place. From our testing with the boat, the only one, it was possible to release quickly and have body control was the front position. Side or back was really disturbing for the person being dragged, and we often stopped as we were afraid. He did have a life vest during the whole test that helped keep him afloat, and still, it was difficult for him to breathe due to all the water that was thrown at him.

    Very good tip. Thank you. I think those of us that have been riding for a while automatically get programmed to attach the leash to the back. This practice should really become phased out. That length of line and plastic tubing along the horizontal of the harness should really be reserved for holding on to someone in high wind/landing/teaching conditions. Perhaps also bar manufacturers should opt for shorter leashes? If you have any aspirations of riding unhooked and let go of the kite, the shorter front attached leash really helps to recover the kite when rigged in suicide mode.

      Yes it is and a lot of people still use it on the back. It’s not happening every time that you need to release the leash but when that happens you are going to want to have it in the front of your harness.

    Thank you so much for this life-saving advise. Cristal clear.
    I recently bought my first gear with an Ion harness, and I can't believe in 2020 big, global kite brands like that still sell harnesses without any way to tie the leash on the front side. This is criminal as it is a now well known fact that it is the only way to place the leash safely.
    If you buy a harness, make sure there's a native place for the leash in front!

    • @KookProofActivityCenter

      They have some add ons as the fashion was to put it in the back. I think several brands are changing. Mystic has and has re-retrofitted it with a piece that fixes it in all their harness. The worst problem is people not knowing.

    I also have a Mystic harness with no real connection points. In the past I used the hook for the chickenloop to attach my safetyleash, had not yet had any problems with that. But now I have the Core Sensor Pro leash. This one is amazing. It is as your home-made setup. It is a little rope with a metal ring connected to it. The good part however, there is some sort of bearing in it, so it can never twist and lock itself. I really recommend this, very easy to attach your leash! I attach this to the end of the metal part where the straps are connected. Just the example (not for commercial purpose); www.versusshop.nl/kites-barren/accessoires-en-spareparts/core/core-sensor-pro-leash-2s-rzprlsh21

      @@croldan1 To tell you, for the Stealth bar, the fast lock is easy to close and open. Can't be opened by accident. it isn't spinning up while riding, that's pretty great. I don't understand why there are nothing to attach a leash ... But at least it is easy to add a ring by your self on the side of the harness.
      If you are using already a mystic bar, I don't think it's worth to by a new stealth bar ... but if you are planning to get a complete harness, yeah you can definitely choose this bar.

    This video could save lives. Guys do NOT connect to the BACK. This has happened to me and I was dragged under water while trying to find the release on the leash. I had to let the kite go and this could have all been avoided if I was connected to the front. Also if you miss the bar on your handle pass its easier to retrieve the kite before it crashes.

    • @KookProofActivityCenter
      @KookProofActivityCenter  Před 2 lety

    Short Ozone leash. attach it at the spreaderbar against the padding and done. Doing this for ages and no hassle with rope and rings or whatever. Its designed for pull force so why searching for other places to attach.

    • @KookProofActivityCenter
      @KookProofActivityCenter  Před 5 lety

      M. There are a lot of different leashes and a lot of different harnesses. There are several solutions. The ozone leash since its rope works well on the spreader bar. We use that one also. The ring and rope solve it for other harnesses and leash combinations, but it's not the only solution. Glad you found one that works for you.

      What I have done with that leash:
      The metal part which can get stuck on your harness when releasing goes right through the line. So I cut the metal piece in half and removed it entirely. Then I put a rope through the hole that was left when removing the metal and made a loop with it.
