- Hello Shiny Crafty People! It’s been a few months since I visited my local Dollar Tree store to check out the craft and sewing items there, as well as other items designed for everyday use that can work for sewing and crafting.
I hope you enjoy this video and that this inspires you to check out a Dollar Tree store near you!
Until next time, Stay Crafty!!! - Věda a technologie
The pool noodle knife is great for cutting lettuce it will not rust so soon in refrigerator.
I use that pool noodle knife for chopping lettuce so it doesn't turn brown as quickly with a metal knife. Thanks for posting it because I couldn't remember where I had gotten it😊
That’s a great idea!
I have a salad knife and it looks the same! Lol

The stackable flower pots could be placed on a lazy Susan or turntable to make for easy access to all of the items.
That’s a great hack!!
Great finds! Thank you. In quilting, I’ve been glue basting with washable school glue (usually generic from Staples) in both liquid and stick (for piecing). I haven’t used a pin in years!
Hi Tim! I love your videos and helpful tips. I use fat quarters from the Dollar tree to make placemats and lining for purses. They recently had some with pink designs for breast cancer awareness and I'm making tote bags to donate to ladies getting treatment. I cut pool noodles to size and insert in cemetery vases (also from Dollar Tree) and make bouquets for Memorial Day. Artificial flowers stay nicely in the foam.
What a great idea on the pool noodles. I’ll have to make a video with some ideas for things to make with pool noodles!
I used command strips to put up the peg boards down the side of a shelf unit.
I think they're is separate pkg of mounting squares for the Peg board too
I love the fabric at dollar tree. Have been using it for years. Our Canadian dollar trees have solids, prints and flannels. Good quality fabric.
Aileen's tacky glue is very different from Elmer's glue. It's much stronger, ad Elmer's glue is watery.
LOVE the Pool noodle knife! Thanks!
Now you know how I felt when I saw it in the store! Was a great find!
My dollar tree is now selling 1 yard packs of interface as well as patterned fabrics! I love it as a seamstress 😍❣️! Great video btw 🤩
My Dollar Tree needs to get on the ball! I’ll look for those next time I go to the store!
@@timothytotten9409we have 3 stores within 10 miles. I’ve noticed they seem to be different “levels” and don’t have all of the same things. In fact, one has a family dollar store right next to it and complements it.
I use the brown craft paper rolls from dollar tree to make patterns with. I also make copies of my store bought patterns out of it too! And I make templates out of the flexible cutting mats. I use my circuit maker to cut them out. So if I need to make a ton of say 3 inch triangles I cut out the triangle and use that!
Such a great idea!
Girl, I use craft paper to make patterns, too, mainly for my bag designs. 😉
that cayron box would be great to keep new pkgs of needles in
Our dollar tree in Canada is a $1.50 now. I do buy fabric squares, made some shopping bags with them,
I am in Central FL also so hopefully I will be able to find a few of these items at my Dollar Tree. I cut down pool noodles to roll projects on that will have to sit for a while or fabric I have ironed for a class or retreat. I will have to look for the pool noodle knife 😉
Thank you so much Tim, I really really enjoyed watching you take us all through those great things that you’ve got at the Dollar Tree. Unfortunately we don’t have Dollar Tree in the UK. But I’m sure the Pound lands here have something similar. But, I particularly like the pool noodle knife, so useful too. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤
Some great ideas.
You have made such fantastic 'finds' Timothy. It is always great to see the various items that are available in other countries, especially at such a low cost. Thank you for taking the time to share in which section you found them and suggestions for their use.❤🎉❤ 🇦🇺
Love all of these but particularly the pool noodle knife!!!!!
gonna use those crayon boxes to make mini first aid kits with bandaids, mini antibacterial ointment, etc.
Such a smart idea!!
Good finds, just understand that when Aileen's glue dries, it is NOT water soluble. I may bet milky and soft/more pliable, but it won't wash out. Love that tape! I have used it before for lots of things.
Great ideas for things I would never have thought about using. ❤
A pool noodle knife!! That worked great! Thanks for another Saturday morning video.
Wow so glad I found your channel.
Welcome!
Loved neck/head rest using pool noodle and pn knife. Thank you
was really hoping you'd break into song with the "brown paper packages tied up with string" part! XD
Hahaha
Great finds. Didn’t know you could use actual glue for quilt basting.
❤thank you for all your tips. Hay our stores in Brownsville Tx has all kinds of fabric with all kinds of designs. I've been looking for bamboo bees and they had some. I got Valentine fabric too. Some beautiful colors. Great price like you say. 🎉
What are you making with the bamboo bees? I can’t wait until my dollar tree gets some fabric variety. Congrats!
Hi Tim! I love my Dollar Tree! I really liked the planter #10. I need to go shopping and see if my store has them. I have purchased some fabric (fat quarters) with patterns, mostly unicorns with bling. fun!
I love your videos!! Please keep sharing!! And thanks for all the great Dollar Tree ideas!!😊
Noodle knife is awesome. I totally need to get that and fat quarters!
I MUST GET THAT PLANTERS CUPS! GREAT FOR MY SISSORS!
All those items were really cool and fun! I must get to my local DT for that coupon holder and the crayon bin. Thanks, Timothy. 👍🏼
You are so welcome
Great ideas ! Love the pool noodle knife 👍🏻
Thanks for sharing!
Wow I need that pool noodle knife! great find
Thank you so much for sharing these finds. I want at least five of them for my craft room.
Cool beans!! Thankyou for finding these😊😊😊
You can also use a larger searrated bread knife to cut most stryfoam and, also, wine corks btw.
They have fabric in the dollar tree in a small town outside of Ottawa Canada!!
Yes they do in Niagara Falls, Ont., as well. I bought some to try, washed and dried it, it didn’t bleed and ironed nicely. I was pleased with the quality and surprised.
These are different items. Thank you for sharing your ideas
It’s so much fun to go in and search for things I can use for sewing and crafting.
Slice that pool noodle lengthwise and put it around the rim of a bucket for an emergency toilet. Hurricane season and power loss is right around the corner, Tim! You can also pop that lengthwise sliced noodle on the rim of a folding chair for a headrest. Or the arms of a tubular chair. Stick a pool noodle on a broom stick - also at DT, and make a squeegee for your driveway!
Such a good idea!
Those pool noodle knives are likely the same plastic used for veggie cutting knives. They're plastic bc it won't react with the vegetables and cause any discoloration.
Great point!
Amazing finds, Thank you.
Thanks for sharing. Useful tips and ideas.
Loved this video! The pool noodle knife is the bomb!! Gonna go look for it this week.
I should have bought a few extra! I know I’m gonna want to give some away to friends and won’t be able to find them again!
Awesome finds!
Pool noodle knife is the hidden gem! Thanks!
Happy I found you. Thanks.💜🙏🏽
You could probably use the noodle knife for lettuce as I have one just like that I bought for lettuce
I keep hearing that lol! I guess some smart person said “let’s rebrand this as a pool noodle knife and we can sell a ton of them!” Worked on me. Lol
I never use my plastic lettuce knife but now I found a new use for it. Thanks Tim!! 😊👍🏻
Thank you for sharing!
I bought like 9 of the fat quarter and they are fabulous.
Tim thank you for sharing. First time viewer. I love th flower pot usage. Definitely will look for. I buy a lot of my shipping supplies from Dt.
Great video now I’ve got to try and find that pool noodle knife for my lettuce!!!
Love this especially the coupon book for swatches
Love these Dollar Tree tips/Products. Thank you! Glue basting can be tricky if it’s not completely dried - take care not to sew through wet glue. Your sewing machine will not like it! The needle will transfer it down into the bobbin race case. Eek!
The glue basting is a great idea, but I use just the cheapest glue sticks for that as well. Love the knife. I wonder what else it would cut?
Great ideas. My ghetto dollar tree is so disorganized and junky if it had any of these things you couldn’t find it🤣
Right?!? I’m lucky that there are four nearby and I can pick and choose which to shop.
Thank you Tim!
Great video! The noodle knife is great. I am going to pick up a couple more for times when people are crafting together. Love your videos!
My dollar tree carries all colors on the fabrics and I made 2 quilts with them already 😊
Hi Timothy, great items.
You’re sooo sweeet!! You LOVE sewing. Good for you😀🙏🏼❤️🧵🪡📍
The crayon box would be great for taking you machine feet and tools to retreats.
Good idea!
Thanks so much Tim! I m off to Dollar Tree.
Hi Tim. I look forward to all your videos. They are always so interesting abd easy to follow. Thanks
Glad you like them!
Great idea for quilt fabric#5
Works great for cutting bread and rolls!
I can imagine!
Awesome finds! I'm going to check out my $ tree. Thank you!
Great finds! Miss you!
The crayon boxes could also be used to discard sharps.
Great ideas! Thank you! I have two dollar trees close to me! I will check out what I can use from them. ❤️💕
Our Dollar Tree has had the fat quarters in different colors as well as strip rolls in prints and solids for some time. Have used them and had no problems with them. The fat quarters bundles are $5 for the same thing that is over $7 at Walmart and the skies the limit everywhere else.
Thanks for the ideas.I love Dollar Tree.
I’m in Colorado and some Dollar Tree’s sale interfacing. I bought a package to test it out but have not yet. It is non-woven but still useful for some projects.
Thanks great ideas.
I’ve been buying fat quarters from Dollar Tree for years. They always have cute seasonal ones
I just found some printed fabrics at a Dollar Tree about an hour from my house. I was so impressed I shot footage of the store for a future video!
That pool noodle knife looks great. I put a “retired” serrated bread knife in my gardening tote and use that for pool noodles. The quality of the fabric in my Dollar tree stores is terrible!!! I can’t imagine anything I could use it for, especially not something I would make for others!!
There seems to be a wide disparity between the fabric at various Dollar Tree stores. It’s kinda sad. My place really only has solid colors but I visited another one an hour away - video coming soon - and they had dozens of patterns!
Good ideas. Like the pool noodle knife
Great finds at Dollar Tree, thanks for sharing
I found light and heavy fusible interfacing in the craft section. And, by the way, they also have Dixie cup size Ben & Jerry ice cream. Hmm
At hardware stores they may have magnetic sheets or bowls. It's great to find sewing needles!!
Great point!
1.25 fat quarters are much cheaper than fabric store prices, makes it 5.00 a yard. Its a good weight for a rag quilt.
Great ideas
Great finds!
Timothy, I’ve actually purchased some pretty, amazing patterned fat quarters from my dollar tree.
I gotta figure out where these Dollar Tree stores with better fabric are! Lol
I bought some yesterday and there was a great selection
When I want to match perfectly seams, I use glue, a dot and done.
That’s a great method.
Yes! I keep a glue stick handy too.
How long do you let the glue set before stitching away?😊
Enjoying the replay ❤
First timer here... thanks for sharing your content!
I use little pool noodle rings under the potted plants that are too small for the "pretty" pots I put them in. Thin rings support the orchids that want to tip over. Over the sliding door handles so the grandkids don't smoosh their little fingers. I'll going to get one of those knifes! Thanks for all the ideas.
Great idea!!
Thanks Tim. New to your channel and appreciate any tips for sewing, especially from dollar tree. Will tune in again. Subscribed.😺
I’ve got a new one from a different Dollar Tree coming in a few weeks. It’s amazing how different two of the same store can be in terms of stock and organization.
Tim. Thank you so much. From SWFL!
Welcome, fellow Floridian!
Great to see you!! Thanks for all these great ideas
Thanks!
Some great ideas, thanks!
I love the coupon holder idea 😊
It’s pretty versatile. And I can never remember if I have certain fabrics at home or I think it’s one kind of green when it’s another. Taking samples with me is best. But I always feel weird carrying fabric back into the store because I don’t want anyone to think I stole fabric! Lol
Some great finds here. #5 would be good for recipes too. Oh the peg board is a great size.
I want a pool noodle knife now
I felt the same way. I have no idea when I’ll need to use it but now I’m looking for noodle sewing projects lol
😂😂😂 Ditto!!
I hope my Dollar Trees in Canada get the pool noodle knife!
Just came across your channel. Thanks for sharing your dollar tree haul.
Thanks, Tim!
You’re welcome!!
