Cab Ride Milan - Como - Chiasso (Italy - Switzerland) train driver's view in 4K

- In this video you can enjoy the cab ride - train driver's view from Milan in Italy to Chiasso in Switzerland in 4K/60 frames per second.
The Milano-Chiasso railway line is an Italian state-owned railway connecting Milan to Como and Chiasso in Switzerland, 51 km of the line.
It is electrified at 3000 volts DC. Between Milan and Monza it has four tracks and is used not only by trains operating to and from Como, but also by freight and passenger trains connecting Milan with Bergamo and Lecco, either directly or routed via Molteno. North of Monza it has two tracks, but between the junction "Bivio Rosales" and Chiasso there is a parallel double track line (used mainly by freight trains) including Monte Olimpino 2 tunnel (7207 m).
The line was opened in 1840.

La mia tratta preferita....
@MagoLerio Great to hear that.
Beautiful ride from Milano into the mountains. The train travels at reasonable speeds, and we let the metropolitan area behind after about 25 minutes, having nice views to the mountains in front of us during the last kilometers of the ride. Thanks a lot for sharing such great cab rides from many corners of the world, greetings from a traveller from Germany!
@roadsexplore it is my pleasure. Like you, I love to travel and film, just the mean of transport is different. Enjoy your evening and greetings to Germany.
I follow and watch your cab ride videos from Slovenia, Croatia, Switzerland, Serbia, Austria, France, Italy, and the borders between countries. You've made a lot of improvements in presenting information during train rides. From names of stations, important places, destinations from/to branch lines, types of trains, names of tunnels, names of rivers, highways, and many more. I appreciate your improvements for outside-of-front cab ride videos. This is my favorite train cab ride channel. I love your channel because it feels like I'm outside of the train and enjoying the fresh breeze along the train rides. This makes my morning excited. ๐
You are presenting train rides by setting a camera outside the train cabin, right? I'm not complaining about problems with wind noise, resolution videos that cannot 4K, and sounds that can't be heard inside the train cabin. It is because not everyone can get into the train cabin if not a train drivers. The most important thing is the relaxation view and information that can be presented during the train ride as your name channel. I still watch between 144p to 480p quality๐
@WahyuDwiLesmono thank you very much for your feedback. That kind of comments make me feel good and work even harder to improve. Love the fact that this is your favourite channel. There will be more content like that in the future. Wishing you a nice day!

The padding on the EC of this route this insane, regional trains often take less time (46min) to do Milan-Chiasso than the eurocity does(48min-1h) whilst stopping for 4 stations along the route whilst the Eurocity only stops at Como san giovanni (some stop at Monza but weirdly it's often the ones that take 48 min to complete the route that stop at Monza whilst some of the ones that bypass it take 1h which doesn't make any sense), even the Tilo suburban trains that stop at 12 stations along the route do it in 1h 8min.

Great video. Why are all the buildings painted green?

Good video by OP - nice countryside of Italy from Milano to Como and then to ITy/SUI Border town of Chiasso; only downer to me is all this horrid Graffiti Blighting most UK, European and US Cities / Towns
@aleannese thank you for your comment. I have to agree with you about the graffiti.
Thanks for the video. Why is the maximum speed always given in three values? Is it dependent on the sort of train?
@send2wj I am sorry, but I don't have an answer on this one. Hopefully someone else could help me out.
That's correct! The three speeds are called (top to bottom) "Rango A, Rango B and Rango C" ("Rango, roughly translatable with "Rank"). They're the three different speed limits depending on the different type of trains running ahead.
I.e., freight trains always run at "Rank A", the most moderate value at the top of the sign. Better rolling stock run at "Rank B" (such as regional trains composed by loco and ordinary cars), best ones at "Rank C", such as Intercities, ETR, or top rolling stocks of regional trains. Indeed, the first number on top is almost always the lower value, the second's higher, the third's even more higher. When the speed limit is just one, the three numbers are identic.

The European ETCS Level 2 system was recently activated between (approximately) Monza and Chiasso. Does anyone know if the same problems as in Switzerland have arisen in railway stations also equipped with dwarf signals (in Italy called low signals or marmots)? In fact, in Swiss railway stations (for example Giubiasco) with ETCS Level 2, the dwarf signals remain closed to the passage of trains.
ETCS L2 is active between Desio and Chiasso (through Monte Olimpino 2). It stops at Bivio Rosales for Monte Olimpino 1. Between Como San Giovanni and Chiasso is active ETCS L1 Limited Supervision. In this moment all trains (passengers and freight) are equipped with italian SCMT (Sistema Controllo Marcia Treni) and no company is using ETCS. In the next years ETCS L2 will be activated from Desio to Milano and in that moment rail company will use ETCS.
@@davide3814 Thank you very much. Do you happen to know why in Switzerland the "dwarf signals" must be closed for trains along the routes equipped with the European system called ETCS Level 2 so much so that along the said routes they now show two horizontal purple lights? Also in Italy will the low signals have to remain closed along the lines equipped with the European system called ETCS Level 2? I honestly didn't understand why.
How come at the start of the video you pass a lot of yellow lights (flashing and not) but it seems like that the next signals are not red at all?
@iliaderry8212 I am sorry, but I don't know. I am not a driver and do not know their signalling system well.

Can you in Macedonia driving
@matejstojkovski7807 I would love to go there too.
Where is the change of electricity?
@jwslijm7278 I think that power system change is in Chiasso.
The system change takes place at the station entry.
At minute 41:14 you can see the Italian entry signal on the left (red and yellow light) and the Swiss signal for "expect pantograph down" at the top right under the tunnel ceiling, which is designed here as a light signal. You will then see the "pantograph down" signal at 41:49 at the top left above the track, also as a light signal. At 42:17 you can see it again as a metal sign pretty far left in the scene.
Light signals were chosen to enable route-dependent signaling. For example, the track on the far right, where the Italian train is parked, is a dead end track and can only be used with 3000 V DC.
However, what I didn't see until the train stopped was the "raise pantograph" signal. ๐ค

I am glad that you like it
รbrigens: Der Lokfรผhrer ist NICHT der Zugfรผhrer! Der Zugfรผhrer ist der Zugfรผhrer! Der auf der Lok ist der Lokfรผhrer!
@a5r2g9j4 sorry for that.
@@RailRelaxation That is a very often used mistake.. So don't mint. I just wanted to remind you!
@@a5r2g9j4 thank you for reminding me. I actually do not speak German, so it was lost in translation. But now I went to check and learned a new word in German. Have a nice day!
@@RailRelaxation The subtitle under your video was in perfect German. So I thought you might be German! Have a nice day too. So the man in the cockpit of the train is the train driver (Lokfรผhrer) But there is a second man on the train, who is responsible for the proper leading through of the train ride. Closing doors, giving the order to star riding, looking that nodody tries to step in or out of the train, before closing the doors, occupying with all kinds of unevenesses on the train ride as far as it not the due of the train driver. But also controlling tickets on the train. That is the rail guard or conductor (Zugfรผhrer)
@@a5r2g9j4 Same thing in Croatian and same mistake is often made by non-railway-people - Strojovoฤa ("machine leader") and Vlakovoฤa ("train leader"). I think it's obvious we got our railway language (and lets be honest - whole railways) from KuK times ๐
Top video !
@angeloper129 Thank you very much!
At 33:05 COMO CAMERLATA
@76Spettro thank you. I corrected in the time stamps in the description of the video. Can not change it in the video any more. Sorry.
Como Camerlata,not Camerlota
@fabriziobuizza5571 sorry for the mistake and thanks for the correction.

@darioelvis3268 thank you for your feedback. I am working on the audio, to improve it.
Everything looks yellow. All the buildings look the same.
In monza ist die auch Formel 1strecke
4k video ? Looks like 400. Worst 4k resolution I have ever seen. Or just click bait ?
Check what resolution are You getting? You can try to force 4K but it does require very high-speed Internet connection.
@rtalbot87 the video is in 4K quality. Maybe check your connection.
The 4K resolution is excellent.
sound richtig Shit
Thank you for your feedback
